2 METER SCKETS GENERA DESCRIPTIN RS2A jr m Ringless-Type Meter Scket, 2" Hub Included (see page MS 4) RK400RS SJ2AX Ring-Type Meter Scket, verhead Service with Hub Prvisin (see page MS 5) RH3CR Design/Perfrmance Features Steel enclsures are fabricated frm, 4, r 2 gauge, cmmercial grade G90, zinc cated steel which is mill phsphatized t assure finish adhesin. Enclsure finish is a 2-3 mil rganic plyester resin base. Finish is applied inside and utside t clean, and dry metal as an electrstatic charged pwder t grunded assemblies. The finished assembly is then ven cured. Enclsure cvers (except fr ring style sckets) are supplied with a 300 series stainless steel rtary latch with a slt fr ribbn r wire seals and a 3/8" diameter hle fr a padlck. Ring style sckets have an internal slide latch. Meter scket jaws are fabricated frm high cnductivity, tin plated, cpper ally. Insulating jaw supprt blcks are fabricated frm a high impact, nn-tracking thermset plyester. Meter scket cnnectrs are fabricated frm extruded high cnductivity aluminum fr layin style with either steel (0 ampere) r extruded aluminum (50 and 200 ampere) lug tps. Sckets are available t satisfy the munting requirements fr bth self-cntained and transfrmer rated meters. Meter Scket A meter scket is an enclsed device which has jaws t accmmdate the matching blade terminals f an "S" base watthur meter and has cnnectins fr terminating the circuit cnductrs. Murray ffers single-psitin sckets fr ne meter r multiple-psitin sckets fr tw r mre meters. Multiplepsitin sckets may be fabricated as ne cmplete unit with tw r mre scket psitins, r fabricated as ne r mre separate scket psitins with remvable sidewalls, and cupling straps fr ganging int a multiple psitin scket assembly. Ring-Type Meter Scket A ring-type meter scket has a scket curl fr use with a sealing ring which hlds the watthur meter in place. The scket curl is an integral part f the meter scket cver. The cver may be a latch type, secured in place by a latch; r a crss bar type, secured thrugh the crss bar. Ringless-Type Meter Scket A ringless-type meter scket has n prvisin fr a scket sealing ring but uses the cver t hld watthur meter in place. The cver is sealable by the utility. Meter Bypass A meter bypass permits changing r testing a meter withut interrupting the service. Murray ffers tw types f bypasses. Manual bypasses fr ringless-type meter sckets are factry installed. The lever type is used n 200 ampere devices (200 and 320 Amp Heavy Duty Ringless Scket have Jaw Release - ever Bypass) and the hrn type is used n 25 and 200 ampere devices.
