4 4 Grinding Instructins: Use the Angle Fixatin Knb t set the desired grind angle. Insert the tungsten electrde int the Cllet Chuck Assembly. Use the electrde set gauge fr identical grind angles n every electrde. Insert the Cllet Chuck Assembly with the tungsten electrde int the Electrde Set Gauge s that the ntched prtin f the assembly fits cmpletely int the ntched prtin f the receptacle and the tungsten electrde is making cntact with the set gauge. Tighten the Cllet Chuck Assembly s that the tungsten electrde is held securely. Place the Cllet Chuck Assembly int the sltted chuck prt.. Press the On/Off Switch t begin the autmatic grinding sequence. The grinder will autmatically shut ff after the preset grinding perid. 4

5 5 Adjusting Preset Grinding Time: There is a remvable plug n the tp rear prtin f the grinding case that cvers the timer adjustment. Using a screw driver, the preset grinding time can be adjusted between 5 60 secnds. The grinding time can als be mnitred manually; pressing the On/Off switch while the grinder is in peratin will turn the grinder ff, regardless f the preset timer. Adjusting the Cntact Pint n the Wheel: As the grinding wheel begins t get grves, the Lateral Pickup Adjustment knb n the tp f the machine can be used t adjust the where the tungsten electrde impacts the grinding wheel extending the life f the duble sided grinding wheel. 5

6 6 Adjusting the Electrde Set Gauge: The electrde set gauge allws fr the electrdes t be set at exactly the same depth in the Cllet Chuck Assembly. This will allw every electrde t be set up quickly, easily, and it will yield exactly the same grind angle every time. The Electrde Set Gauge unscrews frm the grinder husing. By lsening the M6 Lcking Nut, the depth f the set screw can be adjusted. Please refer t the fllwing table fr adjusting the depth accrding t the diameter f the electrde and the desired angle. 7 7 Grinding Tip Flat & 2-Stage Tapers: Grinding a tip flat n electrdes increases arc stability and reduces arc wander. Many TIG, Autmated TIG, and Plasma Arc Welding applicatins call fr precisin tip flat. When using the Turb Ace tip flat grinding guide, setting the secnd stage angle adjustment at the same angle as the Angle Fixatin Knb will yield an exact 180 tip flat n the electrde. 180 Tip Flat Ө Included Angle The Turb Ace tungsten electrde grinder als ffers the ptin f grinding a 2-stage tip by setting the secnd stage grind angle, inserting the Cllet Chuck Assembly int the Tip Flat Grinding Guide and manually rtating the Cllet Chuck Assembly. Nte: The actual angle f the secnd stage adjustment is relative t the angle f the grinding wheel. Fr example, if the grinding wheel is set at 30 and the 2 nd stage angle adjustment is set at 20, the secnd stage f the electrde tip will be at a 10 less than the 180 flat tip setting resulting in a secndary angle f

8 8 The Cllet Chuck Assembly: The Cllet Chuck Assembly is cmprised f three pieces: The 2-piece turning assembly, which is fitted specifically fr the Turb Ace grinding machine and designed with a wide knurled bdy fr easy use and maximum peratr safety and cmfrt; and the Precisin Cllet, which is sized fr the exact diameter f tungsten electrde t be grund grinding f different electrde diameters requires different Precisin Cllets. The Precisin Cllet threads int the Cllet Chuck Assembly and, when tightened, lcks the entire assembly and the tungsten electrde int place. Precisin Cllet 2-Piece Turning Assembly Dispsal f Grinding Dust: The MT-10DX Turb Ace Semi- Autmated Tungsten Grinder features an enclsed grinding chamber. This design prvides unmatched user safety. The grinding dust is cllected and depsited in the remvable Dust Cllectin Case where it can be dispsed f quickly and easily. 8
