A wireless bridge is based n prtcl and acts as a client, lgging in t the primary ruter and getting an Internet cnnectin, which it passes n t the devices cnnected t its LAN jacks. This Wireless Bridge Mdule prvides wireless BACnet/IP cmmunicatin with flr level devices thrugh a Wi-Fi link within a building. Each wireless bridge supprts up t five daisy-chained Ethernet DXRs. Fr infrmatin n daisy-chaining the DXRs, see APOGEE Wiring Guidelines fr Field Panels and Equipment Cntrllers ( ). The fllwing cnfiguratins are available: Lcal Installatin the bridge mdule is attached t a lcatin near the DXR. Enclsure r Plenum Installatin the bridge mdule is installed in an enclsure with a remtemunt antenna. 2 Orderable Prduct Descriptins Tw Wireless Bridge Mdule Optins Wireless Bridge Mdule Part Number (Orderable part number S55622-H235) This standard Wireless Bridge Mdule is used in mst applicatins, particularly with the DXR2.E12P-102B variant with the built-in differential pressure sensr fr VAV and fan-pwered bx applicatin types. This mdel cntains a wireless bridge transceiver, external antenna, antenna extensin cable and regulated pwer supply n a cnvenient munting tray. Installatin instructins and sheet metal screws are included. The pwer supply is wired t the same 24 Vac pwer at the DXR, prviding 24 Vdc utput pwer required fr the transceiver. instructins and sheet metal screws are included. There is n pwer supply in this mdel as the transceiver pwer plug has a 48-inch cable t interface specifically with the DXR2-E18-101B mdel if there are n ther devices cnnected t the 24 Vdc utput vltage available via terminals 39 (V+) and 40 ( ). If the DXR2-E18-101B has ther external devices cnnected t these terminals, use Part Number instead. NOTE: A user-prvided Ethernet patch cable is required fr cnnectin t the DXR. Part Number Optinal Enclsures If lcal cde requires the DXR and Wireless Bridge Mdule t be munted in a cntrl cabinet, bth units may be munted tgether using the Siemens Cntrl Panel r (see Figure 4). Part Number Part Number (Orderable part number S55622-H236) An alternate Mdule, mdel seen in Figure 3, is fr specific use with the DXR2.E18-101B variant fr fan cil, unit vent, and heat pump applicatin types as this mdel can derive its pwer directly frm the DXR2.E18-101B mdel. 3 Remte Antenna Accessries Munting Optins fr Standard Antenna (included with Wireless Bridge Mdule) The Wireless Bridge Mdule includes an adjustable, 8-inch, mni-directinal, external antenna that screws directly nt the transceiver. This antenna will prvide extended wireless perfrmance in mst wall-munt r equipment-munt installatins (see Figure 5). If the Wireless Bridge Mdule is munted in a lcatin that is internal t an enclsure r is in an area that makes wireless transmissin t ther devices impractical, tw lnger antenna extensin cables (10-ft and 25-ft lng versins) are rderable accessries (see Figure 7). If the Wireless Bridge Mdule is munted inside f a cntrl enclsure r equipment electrical enclsure, the external antenna will need t be repsitined t an external lcatin with gd line f sight t ther wireless devices. The Wireless Bridge Mdule includes a 12-inch extensin cable with a bulkhead fitting t supprt the repsitining f the antenna t a nearby lcatin n the utside f the enclsure. Attach ne end f the cable t the transceiver, drill a hle in the enclsure, install the bulkhead fitting with the cnnectr extending thrugh the enclsure and attach the antenna t this fitting (see Figure 6). The antenna can be adjusted t meet transmissin requirements. Fr installatins requiring a secure, tamper-resistant antenna such as schls, public areas, retail areas r detentin facilities, mni-directinal ceiling-munt external antenna kits are available that can replace the standard, included antenna. The antenna is white in clr and has an appearance similar t a smke detectr. Utilizing these ceilingmunt antennas reduces the pprtunity fr issues due t antenna damage r theft. Tw kits are available: ne cntaining the ceiling antenna and a 10-ft extensin cable, r ne with a 25-ft extensin cable (see Figure 8). Figure 8. Ceiling Munt Antenna Kit. Figure 6. Munting is easy by making a 5/8-inch hle in the ceiling panel, inserting the antenna, installing a threaded fastener t munt it securely t the ceiling panel and cnnecting the cable t the cnnectr n the back f the antenna). Then, run the cable back t the Wireless Bridge Mdule. See Figure 9. Page 3 f 5
