3 Islated DC Digital Vltmeter 1) Intrductin What is the idcv Islated DC Vlt Meter? The AKCP idcv Sensr is an islated digital DC vlt meter which can be used t nt nly mnitr and lg DC vltage readings frm batteries and ther equipment, but als can be used t integrate third party sensrs that utput a DC vltage. The Islated Digital Vltmeter can be used by OEM s and engineers t create their wn custm data cllectin systems. The user can input a DC vltage range frm -60 t 0 vlts r frm 0 t +60 vlts DC. Any cmpany r building with a large battery bank r slar pwer strage r invlvement in the manufacture r strage f batteries needs this sensr. The sensr nw incrprates an islated grund fr better safety and prtectin against ver vltages and shrt circuits. Readings are available in bth an abslute value and a percentage f full scale. Full scale is user prgrammable with bth the base and tp vltages frm -60 t +60 vlts DC. All readings are given with a reslutin f ne decimal pint. Our Digital Vltmeter can measure DC vltage in the range 0 t 60 vlts r -60 t 0 vlts. The web interface fr ur Islated DC Vltage Sensr is very flexible and easy t use. If yu want t measure a DC vltage greater than +/-60V, yu can find a DC Vltage Transducer that suits yur purpse, and integrate it int the unit as a "custm sensr". Yu can use a transducer with a 4-20mA utput and cnnected t ur 4-20mA cnverter; r with an analgue DC utput signal cnnected t ur Islated DC Vltage Sensr. Once cnnected, ur web interface allws yu t display the readings as their measured values (i.e V). One ppular OID fr the Digital Vltmeter is the current reading. Islated grund fr prtectin against a differential grund between the target device and the idcv sensr. Full aut ranging frm -60VDC t +60VDC and frm -5VDC t +5VDC. Status range - High Warning, Lw Warning, High Critical, Lw Critical. Cmmunicatins cable - RJ-45 jack t sensr using UTP Cat 5 wire, Maximum extensin cable length 60 feet with apprved lw capacitance shielded cable r UTP. Tw hardware setting mdes: Wide Range Mde is -60 t +60 VDC with 0.01 V reslutin and 1% accuracy. High Reslutin Mde is -5 t +5 VDC with V reslutin and 1% accuracy. Accuracy - ±1%. Input Impedance: 1.6 Mhm when set at the High Scale (60 Vlts maximum) and 1.1 Mhm when set at the High Reslutin Mde (5 vlts maximum). Pwer surce: pwered by the unit. N additinal pwer needed. The unit aut detects the presence f the Islated Digital Vltmeter. Measurement rate - multiple readings every secnd. Full Autsense including discnnect alarm. 3) Sensr LED s: Hst Cnnectin LED = LED will be GREEN when cnnected successfully t yur base unit. Status LED = LED will be blinking YELLOW when in an alert state. Over Vltage LED = LED will be slid RED if ver vltage is cnnected t the sensr

5 Islated DC Digital Vltmeter 4) Cnfiguring the Islated Digital Vltmeter a) Plug the sensr int ne f the RJ45 prts n the rear panel f the unit. b) Nw pint yur brwser t the IP address f the unit (default, ). Next yu need t lgin as the administratr using yur administratr passwrd (default is public ). Yu will then be taken t the summary page. c) Frm the summary page yu need t select the sensrs tab. The layut f the next page will vary depending n yur unit s please refer t yur units manual. d) Yu shuld nw be able t setup the threshlds fr yur sensr. The lw critical, lw warnings, nrmal, high warnings, high critical values can be set frm this page. Nw we will cver the settings that are specific t yur sensr. 5V 60V Switch Setting The Islated Digital Vltmeter has a tw way switch lcated next t the vltage input cnnectin. This switch is fr selecting either f the tw hardware setting mdes. When set t the 60V setting the sensr will be in the Wide Range Mde which wuld be selected when applying -60 t +60 VDC. When the switch is set t the 5V setting then the sensr will be in the High Reslutin Mde which wuld be selected when applying -5 t +5 VDC.. Web Interface Readings and Status Current Reading: The percentage r abslute value f DC vltage is displayed in this field. This is a read-nly field. This value can be plled via SNMP, and the data can be used fr graphing. The value range is set by the base and max scale fields in the Custm Digital Vltmeter Settings Sectin. Status: The current reading is cmpared t the threshlds f Critical High, Warning High, Critical Lw, and Warning Lw that the user has set. Frm this, the status is then frmed, and s, traps are sent if necessary. Critical High, Warning High, Warning Lw, and Critical Lw: These threshlds shuld be re-entered every time there is a change in the type f scale (whether an abslute value r a percentage value is used) 5) Using the Islated Digital Vltmeter t integrate custm sensrs The unit has the ability t integrate with custm sensrs via ur Islated Digital Vltmeter r 4-20mA Cnverter. Fr integratin with custm sensrs, the unit text can be custmized t whatever yu wuld like; this text is reflected n the summary page f the web interface. All numbers are displayed in decimal frmat. The external sensr used shuld have an utput as a linearized DC vltage (integrate with Islated Digital Vltmeter) r 4-20mA signal (use 4-20mA Cnverter)

6 Islated DC Digital Vltmeter EXAMPLE: cnsider a pressure sensr, measuring range 0-500MPa, sensr utput 0-12VDC signal. Cnnect t the securityprbe with ur Islated Digital Vltmeter. On the DC Vltage Sensr Settings page, in the Custm Digital Vltmeter Settings sectin, enter MPa as the Display Units. Enter the fllwing settings: Max Scale f Sensr in Vlts: 12 Base Scale f Sensr in Vlts: 0 Hw Many MPa at 12V (Max Scale): 500 Hw Many MPa at 0V (Base Scale): 0 Nw, sensr readings will be displayed in MPa, with the cnfigured scaling i.e. an input signal f 6V will be displayed as 250MPa. These units will be displayed n graphs, sensr ntificatins, summary page etc. Display Units: This field shuld be entered with an apprpriate unit f the measured entity when the Islated Digital Vltmeter is used with the custm sensr. Fr example, this filed might be entered with Punds r Lbs then the Islated Digital Vltmeter is used with the custm pressure sensr r Vlts fr an abslute value f measured DC vltage. Type f scale: This field is used t select whether t display the current reading as an abslute value r a percentage. Max scale f sensr in vlts: This field shuld be entered with the maximum value f the vltage that is input t the Islated Digital Vltmeter. Fr example, if the Islated Digital Vltmeter is used t measure the vltage in a range f 0 t 50 vlts, this filed shuld be filled in with 50. Or, if the Islated Digital Vltmeter is used t integrate with the custm sensr, this filed shuld be set t the maximum utput vltage f the custm sensr. Hw many percent r Hw many unit (max scale): The field name is changed accrdingly t the selected type f scale (abslute value r percentage). When the type f scale is set t Abslute, this field shuld be set t the maximum abslute value that can be measured by the DC Vltage r the custm sensr. In the Islated Digital Vltmeter case, the value in this field shuld be the same as that in the "Max scale f sensr in vlts" field. Prvided by fficial AKCP-Distributr Didactum

7 Islated DC Digital Vltmeter Base scale f sensr in vlts: This field shuld be entered with the minimum value f the vltage that is input t the Islated Digital Vltmeter. Fr example, if the Islated Digital Vltmeter is used t measure the vltage in a range f 0 t 50 vlts, this filed shuld be filled in with 0. Or, if the Islated Digital Vltmeter is used t integrate with the custm sensr, this filed shuld be set t the minimum utput vltage f the custm sensr. In the Islated Digital Vltmeter case, the value in this field shuld be the same as that in the "Base scale f sensr in vlts" field. 5) Calibrating the Islated Digital Vltmeter The calibratin f the idcv sensr can nly be perfrmed n the securityprbe base units. Nrmally the senr will nt need calibratin, hwever it is gd practice t calibrate it nce a year depending n the level f usage. T calibrate the sensr, yu wuld first discnnect the extensin cable and cnnect the yellw calibratin cable fllwing the labels indicating which end is cnnected t either the base units RJ-45 prt r the sensr cnnectin. Nw cnnect the green cnnectr t the DC Input Vltage cnnectr. Nw as shwn in the screen sht abve yu wuld lg in t the base unit as an administratr, then navigate t the Sensrs page >> Nrmal Settings, then click n the Calibratin buttn

When the sensr has cmpleted the calibratin prcedure it will display calibratin cmpleted.
