Pushbuttn t check status r activate mdule 2.1 Summary Temptime EDGE S-400 Series is a Bluetthenabled wireless device designed t mnitr temperature-sensitive prducts during shipping. With its small ftprint, EDGE S-400 Series fits cnveniently inside many types f prduct packaging and cntainers, where it tracks temperature accrding t parameters that yu can define fr yur specific needs. Status indicatr light EDGE S-400 Series recrds ambient temperature at regular intervals and stres the infrmatin in its memry. EDGE S-400 Series is designed fr relatively shrt-term peratin fr shipping applicatins lasting abut 12 mnths. The battery in EDGE S-400 Series is nt replaceable. By using Temptime EDGE S-400 Series with specially designed cmpanin prducts, yu can benefit frm a flexible temperature mnitring slutin that adapts t many usage scenaris, frm lw-t very highvlume needs. The EDGE S-400 Series datalgger must nly be used be used with cmpanin prducts apprved and recmmended by Temptime EDGEVue Mbile: prgram mdules, read and push data The EDGEVue Mbile Applicatin fr ios and Andrid ffers numerus features (described in detail in the EDGEVue Mbile Applicatin user guide). Ntably, it allws yu t: Prgram all datalgging settings n EDGE S-400 Series mdules, including temperature ranges, alarm limits, and the mdule s startup mde. Read and gelcate data cllected frm the mdule wirelessly Push missin and temperature data t the EDGEClud nline service (nte: EDGE S-400 Series mdules include free data strage and access n EDGEClud) EDGEVue Web: Read and manage data EDGEVue Web is a web applicatin that allws yu t access and analyze EDGE S-400 Series missin infrmatin (ntably temperature, lcatin, and ther key events) that is pushed t the EDGEClud service either manually by users with smartphnes r autmatically by the EDGEBridge gateway. 7

12 Using yur EDGE S-400 Series mdule 3 Using yur EDGE S-400 Series mdule Generally speaking, mst f the useful features prvided by EDGE S-400 Series are activated r accessed thrugh the cmpanin sftware and hardware tls. The mdule itself is quite simple, with just tw user interface functins: the pushbuttn and the LED light. 3.1 Using the pushbuttn The EDGE S-400 Series pushbuttn is used t either t: Activate Bluetth n the mdule s yu can prgram it with the EDGEVue mbile applicatin n yur smartphne r tablet, r Check device status with the LED (clr cdes described belw) Pushbuttn t check status r activate mdule Activating Bluetth t prgram with EDGEVue Mbile Upn delivery frm the factry, EDGE S-400 Series mdules are in a mde called deep sleep. That mde is used t preserve battery life befre the mdule is used. Wireless cmmunicatin and datalgging are bth deactivated in deep sleep. When yu want t prgram yur EDGE S-400 Series mdule via Bluetth using the EDGEVue Mbile applicatin, yu must first activate it. Status indicatr light T activate an EDGE S-400 Series mdule: 1. Press and hld the pushbuttn n the frnt f the EDGE S-400 Series mdule fr 3 secnds. 2. Bluetth is activated, the LED blinks blue, and the EDGE S-400 Series may be discvered by EDGEVue Mbile fr 1 minute. 3. During that perid, yu will see the device listed in the EDGEVue Mbile display, at which pint yu may cnnect t it t cnfigure a missin. 12

14 Maintaining yur mdules 4 Maintaining yur mdules 4.1 Cleaning Instructins Yu ccasinally may need t clean yur EDGE S-400 Series mdules depending n site r envirnmental cnditins. Here are sme recmmendatins and guidelines fr cleaning yur mdules: Clean using a sft clth with water, a detergent r isprpanl. D nt use any aggressive cleaning agents r scratching cleansers that might cause damage t yur datalgger. 14

15 Appendix 1 EDGE S-400 Series battery life 5 Appendix 1 EDGE S-400 Series battery life Many factrs have an influence n EDGE S-400 Series battery life, bth during use and in strage befre being used. Here are the main cnsideratins t take int accunt when evaluating prduct battery life: Ambient temperature: battery capacity is diminished when subject t very cld perating and/r strage cnditins. Wireless cmmunicatins: Bluetth cnnectins, frm the EDGEVue sftware t the EDGE S- 400 Series mdule, cnsume battery pwer. Lgically, the mre yu cnnect, the mre yu use the battery. Hwever, it is wrth nting that n cnnectin is established when using EDGE S-400 Series with the EDGEBridge gateway, r when simply viewing EDGE S-400 Series devices in EDGEVue (withut ging int details). In that case, nly the Bluetth advertisement frames are read, and Bluetth emits thse frames regularly, whether r nt yu cnnect. Nte: The reading frequency des nt have significant impact n battery life. Because f the prduct s ptimized electrical architecture and circuitry, there is n significant difference, in terms f battery life, if the sensr reads and stres data nce every ten minutes r nce every minute. 5.1 Battery details EDGE S-400 Series is designed as a single-use temperature mnitring slutin, and thus cntains a nnuser-replaceable battery.
