1 GANTOM iq AND iqx USER GUIDE The Gantm iq is the wrld s smallest gb prjectr with zm and fcus fr prfessinal lighting applicatins. The Gantm iqx features the same amazing ptics f the Gantm iq but adds integrated DMX cntrl. Using LED technlgy and special ptics, the Gantm iq and Gantm iqx can render bright and sharp images frm a variety f gb materials including film, metal, and glass. This fixture pens up a vast new dimensin f creative lighting pssibilities by allwing images, patterns, and signage t be prjected in ways that were impssible with traditinal gb prjectrs. The integrated 3 channel DMX receiver f the Gantm iqx gives the user full range f cntrl ver brightness and varius dimming effects including candle flicker and strbe. The Gantm iqx is ideal fr theatrical lighting applicatins. Our user friendly DMX Prgrammer app, available fr Apple and Andrid devices, allws easy address DMX assignment and dimming cntrl. 2 ABOUT GANTOM iq AND iqx GOBOS The Gantm iq and Gantm iqx can prject any pattern that is cut int a 19mm (3/4 ) diameter disk. Traditinal gbs such as stainless steel r glass will wrk fr permanent installatins. Fr temprary events, inexpensive full clr gbs can be made frm 35mm film slides r printed nt transparency paper. Fr full clr film gbs visit: It is imprtant that yu knw htttp:// will print yur gb designs but cannt cut them int the crrect circular shape. Fr this we recmmend purchasing a 19mm (3/4 ) craft punch nline r at a craft stre. Please nte that film slides will fade ver time as the film is a phtsensitive material. Althugh this prcess renders sharp full clr images at a lw price, these slides are designed fr temprary use. Please cnsider stainless steel r glass fr permanent applicatins. Fr stainless steel r glass gbs visit: r Yu can als create yur wn gbs as lng as yur able t create well defined patterns nt a 3/4 (19mm) diameter disk that is less than 0.08 (2mm) thick. Yu can als use a high reslutin inkjet printer t create full clred patterns nt transparency paper. Hwever, due t the reslutin f typical printers and the amunt f magnificatin with ur ptics, the prjected pattern will nt be as sharp as a prfessinally made pattern. 3 GOBO INSTALLATION 1. T install yur gb, first remve the lens assembly by unscrewing it cunterclckwise. 2. Next, remve the gb retainer ring by turning it cunter-clckwise 3. Insert the gb 4. Install the gb retainer ring by turning it clckwise until yu can n lnger easily turn it by hand. Then Re-attach the lens assembly by turning it clckwise until yu can n lnger easily turn it by hand. 5. Adjust the zm/fcus by mving the lenses alng the lens slider. When the lenses are clse tgether, the image will be wider. When the lenses are far apart, the image will be narrwer.

4 POWER AND WIRING REQUIREMENTS The Gantm iq and Gantm iqx have a maximum fixture wattage f 2.8W and an perating vltage f 12V DC. Fr recmmended pwer supplies check Gantm s standard DMX cntrllable light fixtures have a 2.1mm DC barrel jack fr pwer and a 3.5mm TRS jack fr the cntrl signal. Additinally, screw terminal adapters are included with every fixture t simplify custm wiring. Yu can screw bare wires directly int these adapters Rather than using a typical XLR cable fr carrying the DMX signal, standard Gantm fixtures use 3.5mm TRS cables. Gantm makes an XLR 5 Pin t 3.5mm TRS adapter (prduct number CB51) that is perfect fr cnnecting Gantm prducts t an XLR based DMX envirnment. BARE WIRE PINOUT + RED Pwer - BLUE DMX signal D+ GREEN D- YELLOW COM BLACK The Gantm One is als available in ur Gantm Pr cnfiguratin. This versin has a single lcking cnnectr which cmbines bth pwer and data int ne cable. This versin is cmpatible with ur G8 Pwer/Data Distributin Bx and Pr Cable system. A single cable fr pwer and data greatly simplifies installatin and the lcking cnnectr gives a secure cnnectin fr lng term use. The Gantm Pr series is recmmended fr permanent installatins.

5 CONFIGURING YOUR GANTOM iqx Due t its cmpact size, the Gantm iqx cannt use a physical DIP switch fr addressing. Instead, the Gantm iqx is prgrammed using the DMX Prgrammer App by Gantm. In additin t setting the DMX starting address fr the fixture, the app allws yu t save a default brightness fr the fixture if the applicatin des nt require any DMX cntrl. What yu need: An Andrid r ios device fr running the Gantm Prgrammer app. Please nte that a headphne prt is required t cnnect t the device t the fixture. The iphne7 des wrk with, but yu will need t use the headphne prt adapter that is included with the phne. A male-t-male 3.5mm audi 3.5mm cable. This is the same type f cable that yu wuld use t cnnect yur Andrid r ios device t headphnes r t an AUX prt. Pwer supply fr the fixture. All Gantm fixtures accept 12v DC pwer. We recmmend using ne f ur PwerPak Mini units if yu are just ging t pwer a single fixture. The free DMX Prgrammer app by Gantm. This can be fund by searching Gantm in itunes fr an Apple device r Ggle Play fr an Andrid device If yu have a Gantm Pr series fixture, yu will als need the CB107 Pr Cable Prgramming Adapter First, pen the DMX Prgrammer app by Gantm. The app will pen t the screen yu see here. Frm this screen, select the Gantm iqx. The app will then prvide yu instructins n hw t cnnect the light fixture t the tablet r smartphne. Please nte the rder in which the cables shuld be cnnected. First cnnect the headphne cable t the light fixture and t the tablet/smartphne. Als be sure that the vlume n yur device is set t maximum. Next, cnnect the pwer t the fixture. When prmpted by the app, tap the Next buttn and yu will be taken t the cntrl screen.

6 CONTROL SCREEN Address This bx shws the address that will be assigned t the fixture if yu hit the Assign Address buttn Assign Address Hitting this buttn will assign the selected address t the fixture. The light fixture shuld blink in respnse t having a new address assigned. Save buttn this will allw yu t save a settings prfile int the app. Use this if yu need t cnfigure many fixtures t have the exact same settings. Please nte that this buttn DOES NOT save the current prfile r address t the fixture. Cntrl Sliders the cntrl sliders will allw yu t set the intensity (brightness) f the light as well as the speed f whichever pre-defined macr effect is selected. Setting the Speed slider abve 0% will start a strbe effect with variable speed if n effect has been selected. Stre as Default hitting this will save the current brightness and pre-defined macr effect t be the default state fr the light when it turns n. If the light des nt see DMX signal when it is pwered n, it will g t this state. Pre-Defined Macrs Selecting this buttn will bring up a set f pre-made special effects like strbe, pulse, and flicker.

7 OTHER OPTIONS SCREEN If yu hit the Other Optins buttn n the cntrl screen, the fllwing menu appears: Reset - selecting this will reset the fixture t its default factry settings. D this if yu are running int prgramming issues. Tggle Silent Btup By default, the fixture will flash t reprt its DMX address when it is pwered n. Hitting the Tggle Silent Btup setting will turn address reprting at startup n r ff. Lck/Unlck 9600 The Gantm iqx fixture can listen t either a standard DMX signal OR t the special cntrl signal that cmes frm the app. Lck 9600 will turn OFF the fixture s ability t listen t DMX and ONLY allw it t be cntrlled thrugh the app interface. Fr mst applicatins it is recmmended that yu keep UNLOCK 9600 selected. BOOT SEQUENCE FLASHING When the fixture first receives pwer, befre it enters nrmal peratin, it will first reprt its channel mapping prfile and secnd reprt its DMX address thrugh a sequence f flashes. By default, the DMX starting address will be 1. The Gantm iqx will flash several times when it is pwered n t indicate its starting address. If the Gantm iqx is assigned t address 245 it will reprt its address by flashing 2 times, pausing briefly, then flashing 4 times, pausing briefly, then flashing 5 times. If it is assigned t DMX address 038, it will flash 3 times, pause briefly, then flash 8 times TURN OFF/ON bt sequence flashing: Yu may nt want yur fixture t reprt its channel mapping prfile and address every time it receives pwer. In rder t tggle the bt sequence flashes n/ff, fllw these steps. With the fixture cnnected t the app as previusly utlined, tap the Other Optins buttn n the Gantm iqx prfile. Tap the Silent Btup buttn. The light shuld blink t indicate that it has received this new setting.

8 STANDALONE OPERATION Sme applicatins may nt require live DMX cntrl. In rder t cnfigure yur Gantm iqx fr standalne peratin, all yu must d is use the sliders n the Gantm iqx cntrl screen t set the desired intensity, special effect macr, and special effect speed. Once the light has the desired utput, tap the STORE AS DEFAULT buttn at the lwer left prtin f the screen t save this setting directly int the light fixture. Nw, when the light fixture receives pwer it will autmatically g t this newly saved DEFAULT setting nce it s bt sequence is cmplete. Please nte that if DMX signal is passed t the fixture while it is perating in standalne mde, the DMX signal will verride the standalne setting. DMX CONTROLLED OPERATION The Gantm iqx was designed fr use with standard DMX512 cntrl systems. The Gantm iqx ccupies three DMX channels and can be given any DMX starting address frm Please nte that the Gantm iqx des nt feature any RDM functinality. ADDRESSING YOUR FIXTURE T set the DMX address, first cnnect the Gantm iqx t the DMX Prgrammer app by Gantm as was utlined earlier in this dcument. With the Gantm iqx cntrl screen pen, yu shuld have full cntrl f the fixture thrugh the channel sliders. If the light fixture is cnnected t the app but is nt respnding, try pwer cycling the light fixture. Once yu have verified that the light fixture is respnding t cntrl signal frm the app, tap the number field next t the wrd Address. A new screen will pp up, prmpting yu t enter a DMX address. After yu enter yur desired DMX address, the app will return t the Generic Cnsle screen. Finally, yu must hit the ASSIGN ADDRESS buttn in rder t save the new address int the fixture. Hitting the Save buttn will nt save anything t the light fixture s memry.
