1 Desktp Teller Exceptin User Guide Jammed Dcuments If a dcument jams during the scanning prcess, the scanner will stp, and a message bx will display a Device Errr Message, as shwn belw: Click OK t allw the scanner t try t clear the jam. If this des nt wrk yu may need t manually remve the items. Remve them carefully s that yu d nt damage the items r the scanner. Review the transactin sectin f the screen, this will shw all f the items that were successfully scanned. Reinsert the next item r items that did nt scan int the scanner with the remaining dcuments. Click Scan t cntinue prcessing the batch. **Imprtant Nte** Only the items with the images that can be viewed n the screen were actually scanned. The trace number n the back f the item(s) is nt a cnfirmatin that the image was prcessed. Enlarging an Image If the image f the scanned item is difficult t read, the item can be enlarged by clicking n the image and mving the muse acrss it. Click again n the enlarged item t return it t the riginal size.

2 Exceptins Once a batch has cmpleted scanning, the system will display any items that are exceptins (items that require crrectins). Pssible exceptins include: Amunt - cannt be read/item was misread Pr image quality Duplicate item All items that require attentin will be marked as shwn belw: This example has bth amunt misreads and image quality errrs that must be reslved befre the depsit can be submitted. Click n Fix Errrs t view nly the items within the depsit that need t be fixed.

3 Amunt Misreads Belw is an example f an amunt misread errr. If an item misreads the amunt, yu can crrect it. Review the image Enter the crrect amunt in the Amunt field Hit the Enter key n yur keybard t update the item amunt Yu can nly crrect ne item at a time. After yu hit Enter, yu will be able t mve n t the next item. Cntinue this prcess until all exceptin items have been reslved. Once the depsit is in balance, the difference will display $0.00 and the depsit can be submitted. Image Quality Errrs

4 Image Analysis cnsists f the fllwing cmpnents: Image Quality tests the item fr skews, dark bands, missing r flded crners, dcument framing errrs, and partial images. Image Usability tests detect the presence and usability f the data fields n the image; CAR Amunt and the MICR line. Reprcesses are items that fail image analysis and must be rescanned befre they can be accepted. If the image is nt better, the item may still fail. If an item des nt pass image quality standards yu will have the ptin t: Accept the item Delete the item Rescan the item Please keep in mind that all items are required t meet image quality standards. If the paying bank requests a better cpy f an item yu will be required t prvide ne as stated in yur Desktp Teller/Merchant Capture Agreement. Belw is an example f an item that des nt pass image quality standards:

5 Items scanned upside dwn r backwards will need t be deleted and rescanned. Hw t Rescan a Dcument If an item is displayed with an errr message abve the item that reads, Pr Image Quality, this indicates the captured image has failed the Image Quality test. This will shw as an Errr and must be reslved befre a depsit can be submitted. Review the frnt and back f the image t ensure that it is acceptable. If the image is acceptable, click n Accept Image. If the image is nt acceptable, select Rescan" t replace the current image. Lcate the riginal item and place it in the scanner. Click n Rescan at the bttm f the screen.

6 The system will give the fllwing warning message: Select Yes t cntinue the rescan prcess. When rescanning an item, the MICR infrmatin n the bttm f the check is cmpared t that f the riginal item. If there is a match, the image is verlaid. If there is a discrepancy, yu will receive the fllwing warning: If yu select Yes, the new item image replaces the riginal. If yu select N, the system defaults t the riginal item.

7 Duplicate Items Once all f the items have been scanned within the batch and all exceptins have been crrected, the prgram will display any duplicate items that are detected within the current batch and frm any previusly scanned batch within 45 days. T view duplicate items, select Fix Errrs at the bttm f the screen. This will display the pssible duplicate images side by side fr yur review alng with any ther exceptins that may need t be fixed. Belw is an example f images that were detected as pssible duplicate checks: Bth f the check s item detail is displayed at the bttm f the item images. This displays the fllwing infrmatin fr the last duplicate suspect item that was prcessed: Depsit ID Capture Operatr Capture Date Status Number f suspect duplicate items (click the arrw buttn t view any additinal duplicate suspects)

8 Accept Duplicate Item Review the images t determine if they are duplicates If the item is nt a duplicate, click n Accept Delete Duplicate Item Review the images t determine if they are duplicates If the item is a duplicate, click n Delete The system will give the fllwing warning message: Are yu sure yu want t delete this item? Click n Yes This will change yur depsit ttal. T change it t reflect the check that is remved frm the depsit, cmplete the fllwing: Click n Submit Depsit

9 The fllwing Verify Balance bx will be prmpted Enter the crrect depsit ttal Click n Update Once the Depsit Ttal and the Check Ttal are in balance, a verificatin bx will appear and shw that the transactin is balanced. Click Submit Depsit

10 Reslved Exceptins When all exceptin errrs have been reslved, Errr will appear as 0 and a message will display that reads, Success. All Errrs Fixed. Delete Item frm Batch T delete an item frm a batch: Lcate the item t be deleted in the batch Under the Actins clumn, click n the red X

11 The system will give the fllwing warning message: Click Yes t delete the item ut f the batch Click N t leave the current item within the batch This will change yur depsit ttal. T change the depsit ttal t reflect the check that is remved frm the depsit, cmplete the fllwing: Click n Submit Depsit The fllwing Verify Balance bx will be prmpted Enter the crrect depsit ttal Click n Update Once the Depsit Ttal and the Check Ttal are in balance, a verificatin bx will appear and shw that the transactin is balanced. Click Submit Depsit

12 Balancing and Submitting a Depsit Verify the fllwing befre submitting a depsit: Depsit Ttal and Checks Ttal are in balance Difference is $0.00 Click Submit Depsit The system will give the fllwing errr message if yu attempt t submit the depsit befre it is in balance: Enter the crrect depsit ttal Click Update Once the Depsit Ttal and the Check Ttal are in balance, a verificatin bx will appear and shw that the transactin is balanced.

13 Click Submit Depsit Yu can als submit the depsit frm the Pending Depsits r All Depsits tab: Click n the Pending Depsits r All Depsits radi buttn Click the Select bx next t the depsit Click Submit

14 Remve a Depsit Depsits with a status f Submitted r Delivered cannt be remved. T remve an entire batch f items: Click n Delete Depsit within the depsit The system will give the fllwing warning message: Click Yes t remve the depsit Click N t return t the depsit batch

15 Yu can als remve a depsit frm the Hme screen: Click n the Pending Depsits r All Depsits radi buttn Click the Select bx next t the depsit Click Remve The system will give the fllwing warning message: Click Yes t remve the depsit Click N t return t the depsit batch
