3 1 Intrductin The KIP Cst Center applicatin retrieves extensive lg files directly frm System K KIP systems and autmatically generates prductin reprts fr user, prject and department level accunting data. Print r visually attractive graphical reprts related t clr and b&w print and scan prductin directly frm the applicatin. Generate reprts anytime and anywhere when KIP systems are cnfigured t autmatically tracking data at pre-determined intervals KIP Cst Center Features: Integrated with All KIP Apps and Tuchscreen Systems Track Clr and B&W Cpy, Scan and Print Easy t Understand Graphical Reprts Average Tner Cverage by Percent Daily Print and Scan Vlume fr Clr and B&W Reprts by Date Range Print Reprts n Demand Receive Reprts by User, Prject and Department Categries Access the Details f the Last 100 Jbs KIP Tner Csts by Clr and B&W KIP Maintenance Csts KIP Scanner Csts by Clr and B&W - 3 -

4 1.1 Requirements: - 32 & 64 bit Windws Vista, Windws 7, Windws 8 & Windws & 64 bit Windws 2003 Server - 32 & 64 bit Windws 2008 Server - Windws 2008 Server R2 - Windws Server Windws Server 2012 R2 NOTE: Micrsft.Net Framewrk 4.0 is required n all perating systems t be included in the driver package (distributable). 1.2 Supprted Operating Systems - 4 -

5 2 Installatin The fllwing are general steps f the installatin f the KIP Cst Center. Please nte that it is necessary t have the System K sftware installed n the KIP fr KIP Cst Center t functin n the KIP 770K, 7170K, 7570K, 7970K, 940 and 800 Series Printers. Step Actin Illustratin 1. Duble click the installer fr the KIP Cst Center and set the desired language Nte: The language f the KIP System must be the same as the PC that the Cst Center is als installed n. As an example if the KIP System is in the Japanese language then the PC with Cst Center must als be in Japanese. 2. When the Welcme screen pens select the Next buttn t cntinue

6 Step Actin Illustratin 3. The installer will run installing the applicatin. When prmpted, accept the terms f the license agreement and select Next. 4. Select the desired lcatin f the install package r leave this as default (recmmended) and select Next when prmpted. 5. Select the Install buttn t begin install

7 Step Actin Illustratin 6. The install prgress will be displayed. 7. When installatin is finished select Finish t cmplete the installatin. 8. The KIP Cst Center (KCC) shrtcut will be placed n the desktp

8 3 Setup The Fllwing steps are necessary fr the KIP Cst Center t functin prperly and need t be dne prir t first use. Step Actin Illustratin 1. Select the Tls Optin frm the tp bar. 2. Select Optins frm the drpdwn list. 3. The General Tab will allw fr the setting f the fllwing: Units Imperial r Metric Recent Prject Limit Can be set t display the mst recent Prjects frm 1 t 100 Printer IPv6 Address Can be hidden Miscellaneus Setup Chse the Currency Symbl Enabe Cyan Calculatiin Mde. SNMP Cmmunity (see Sectin 9 fr details) Nte: When enable Cyan Calculatin is turned n this will add the ability t enter a value fr Cyan Tner (under Tls\Optins\Csting Entry) and will add a Cyan Entery under Tner and service Fees n the Summary Reprt

9 Step Actin Illustratin 4. Tab If reprts will be ed ut it will be necessary t cnfigure these settings: Destinatin Where will the be sent t. SMTP Settings This infrmatin is necessary and will need t be gathered frm the I/T Administratr. Select Test nce the infrmatin is entered. This shuld return an OK message if SMTP settings are cnfigured crrectly. Select Ok t cntinue. 5. Cverage Tab the cverage tab is used t set the desired ranges fr the amunt f cverage n the sheet. This is used in the billing f different utputs. Set these ranges fr bth mn and clr (if applicable) Select OK t cntinue

10 Step Actin Illustratin 6. Csting Entry Black & White Printer These values will be used when calculating the reprts. Base Mnthly Rate This is a Rate that is charged every mnth fr the use f the printer. Allwance (Sq. Unit)/Mnth This is a value that is set by the Dealer and is the maximum Sq. Units allwed in ne mnths time. Excess Charge / Sq. Unit This is a charge fr exceeding the set mnthly allwance. This is based n each Sq. Unit ver the allwed amunt. Clr Printer Scan Case Tner Cst This is the value paid fr the case f tner. Enter desired values fr each Mdel Printer and select OK t save

Manual Entry this is used t enter IP Addresses fr Printers n the netwrk that are nt autmatically detected (n a different subnet fr example) Enter in the IP Address t search fr, the Printer Mdel and the Printer name t be displayed. Select OK t cntinue. 8. Clse the windw when finished

12 4 KIP Cst Center Main Screen Print Mde The Main Menu allws fr entering the Reprt Parameters in tw mdes 1. By Range users have the ability t enter the Start and End dates t be generated fr the Reprt. If By Range is selected the fllwing warning will appear (this can be turned ff after first time). 2. By Mnth Reprt generated will begin at the start f the selected mnth and generate data fr all days in the selected mnth. Available KIP printers can be selected frm a drp dwn menu frm the Select Printer sectin. This dcument will explain the functins and usage f the KIP Cst Center

13 4.1 Lading data int the KIP Cst Center Step Actin Illustratin 1. Brwse t Printer Lg Files: When the KCC launches it will search the netwrk fr available KIP System K Printers and add these t the Select Printer area. Use the drp dwn t select the crrect printer. Select the Imprt Lg Data buttn. 2. Once the data has been laded the remainder f the buttns will becme active and the Summary page will be laded. 14 4.2 Summary Tab Step Actin Illustratin 1. Once the data has been laded the remainder f the buttns will becme active and the Summary page will be laded. Summary Cverage Media Users Prjects Departments Recent Prjects The Prductin Print Summary reprt cntains infrmatin regarding the verall printing and tner usage f the specified printer. This reprt infrmatin is based n the Date Range prvided n the Reprt Parameters menu. The Ttal Cunters at the bttm f the reprt cver all printing fr the life f the printer. The chart buttns n the right side allw fr viewing charts that prvide graphical infrmatin in the frm f a Pie Chart fr the Ttal Number f prints (Clr vs B&W), a Bar Chart fr the Ttal Square Units (Clr vs B&W), and Line Graph that shws the Clr vs. B&W printing ver the range f the dates prvided

15 Ttal Number f Prints a page cunt f the Black and White and Clr prints. Ttal Printed Units Sq. Ft. accumulated ttals in Linear r Square units (Meters r Feet) f Black and White and Clr prints. Tner Cartridges Cnsumed Apprximated number f Tner Cartridges used during the reprted Date Range. This is calculated based n the grams f tner used as calculated frm the imprted billing data. Average Cverage % The reprted cverage f individual Black and White and Clr printing ttals is averaged acrss the Ttal Number f Prints. Tner and Service Fees Based n the entry data frm the Pricing menu, the Ttal Printed Units are multiplied by the Tner and Service fees. Cst per Sq. Unit is als calculated and displayed. B&W Clr Base Mnthly Rate Ttal Ttal Cunters The Ttal Cunters display the verall printing since the machine was installed. Printing the reprt (example) When chsing PRINT, the fllwing reprt will be generated. The title bar includes imprtant infrmatin such as: Mdel Number/Serial Number Custmer Name IP Address f the printer Date the reprt was generated Wrkstatin Lgin and Name f the persn generating the reprt. Start Date f reprt End Date f the reprt Csts Applied including whether the infrmatin was prvided at the Printer menu r verridden by the persn generating the reprt

16 4.3 Cverage Tab Print Mde Step Actin Illustratin 1. Cverage The Tner Cverage Details Reprt prvides further details frm the Usage Summary Reprt. Based n the individual percent f cverage the B&W Cverage Breakdwn sectin indicates the number f Black and White prints and the square unit fr thse prints. The Cverage clumn is brken dwn in 1 percent increments, but will nt list the increments f which n prints were made. The B&W% Ranges sectin indicates the number f Black and White prints and square units used based n the specified Range set in the Usage Categries. Based n the individual percent f cverage the Clr Cverage Breakdwn sectin indicates the number f clr prints and the square unit fr thse prints. This reprt is srtable by clumn by simply clicking n the clumn header. The user can als Print the Users Reprt by selecting the Print Buttn in the tp right crner as well as view a chart that shws details f the tp users and what was being printed by clicking the buttn fr the Pie Chart

Search fr and print reprt f a specific jb with the Prjects Name Search Functin. Departments The Departments Reprt cnsists f the Black and White and Clr printing and fees based n data entered int the Descriptin field fr accunting. Search fr and print reprt f a specific Department with the Department Search Functin. The user can als Print the Departments Reprt by selecting the Print Buttn in the tp right crner as well as view a chart that shws details f the tp jbs by Department and what was being printed by clicking the buttn fr the Pie Chart

21 4.8 Recent Prjects Tab Print Mde Step Actin Illustratin 1. Recent Prjects The Recent Prjects Reprt prvides a large amunt f detail fr the last 100 print jbs that are reprted in the billing lg. The individual detail includes: User and Prject Name Individual Filename als shws individual Cyan, Magenta, Yellw, and Black tner usage and ttal printed alng with the assciated Tner and Service Fees. The user can als Print the Recent Prjects Reprt by selecting the Print Buttn in the tp right crner as well as view a chart that shws details f the Recent Prjects and what was being printed by clicking the buttn fr the Pie Chart

Summary Cntains: Ttal Scan-T-File Ttal Scan-T-Cpy Ttal Scanned Units Scan-T-File Csts Scan-T-Cpy Csts The Summary Reprt cntains infrmatin regarding the verall infrmatin fr Ttal Scan-T- File, Ttal Scan-T-Cpy and Ttal Scanned Units as well as Scan-T-File Cst and Scan-T- Cpy Csts fr the usage f the specified scanner. This reprt infrmatin is based n the Date Range prvided n the Reprt Parameters menu. Nte: When printing, the reprt will be sent t the default printer n the wrkstain the reprt is being sent frm. The Summary reprt will print 8.5x11 Prtrait and the detail reprts (User, Prjects etc ) will print Landscape. If the reprts print incrrectly (versized) cnfim the fllwing: Right click n desktp, select screen reslutin, Select Make text and ther items larger r smaller, Set t Smaller

27 6 Hw t Use the KIP Cst Center Sftware The Fllwing sectin describes hw t use the KIP Cst Center t pull the lg data frm the KIP Printer and then t gather the infrmatin. Step Actin Illustratin 1. Select the methd f use fr the applicatin (By Range r By Mnth) Enter the desired date Range that the lg will cver. Enter the desired mnth that the lg will cver. 2. On the Main Screen all buttns will be grayed ut until a KIP Printer has been selected. Frm the Drpdwn windw select the desired KIP Printer. Click Imprt Lg Data 3. The Summary Tab is ging t shw all f the infrmatin in ne cnvenient lcatin, fr the specific date range entered. This is specific fr the Print r Scan mde depending n which is selected. Nte: the data gathered in Cunter A and Cunter B are cumulative frm date f installatin. 4. Select any f the buttns acrss the tp t see reprt details frm that selectin (see detailed infrmatin in the previus sectins). 5. Select the Recent Prjects Reprts buttn

30 7 Hw t Exprt the Lg Data int an MS Excel Spreadsheet The Fllwing sectin describes hw t exprt the extracted lg data int a Micrsft Excel Spreadsheet. Step Actin Illustratin 1. Enter the desired Date Range that the reprt will cver. 2. On the Main Screen all buttns will be grayed ut until a KIP Printer has been selected. Frm the Drpdwn windw select the desired KIP Printer. Click Imprt Data 3. The Summary Tab is ging t shw all f the infrmatin in ne cnvenient lcatin, fr the specific date range entered. This is specific fr the Print r Scan mde depending n which is selected. Nte: the data gathered in Cunter A and Cunter B are cumulative frm date f installatin. 4. Click Tls and then Exprt Data Nte: Micrsft Excel will need t be installed at the wrkstatin

31 5. MS Excel will autmatically pen displaying the exprted lg data. All headers will be put in place and the data will be frmatted fr use

32 8 Hw t Create a Simple Reprt The Fllwing sectin describes hw t create a simple reprt frm the lg file fr a specific time frame. This simple reprt is gathered frm the date reange specified and is nt an editable file. It can be printed t the default printer r t Ntepad. Step Actin Illustratin 1. Select the Tls Tab 2. Select Simple Reprt 3. This will pen the fllwing windw. The fllwing settings will need t be entered: Select Printer If multiple printers are available select the printer t pull the reprt frm. Start Date Enter Start Date End Date Enter End Date Type f Reprt chse frm: Printing All items printed r cpied Scanning All scan data Meter all meter data Output Select utput lcatin

33 4. Select the Printer t pull the reprt frm. 5. Enter the desired Date Range that the reprt will cver. 6. Select the Type f reprt: 7. Select the Output Type 8. Select OK 9. The Simple Reprt will be generated and sent t Ntepad r t the default printer depending n the utput selectin. Please Nte this reprt is nt editable

34 9 Hw t set the SNMP Cmmunity String The SNMP Read-Only Cmmunity String is like a passwrd. It is sent alng with each SNMP Get-Request and allws (r denies) access t device. The KIP Printer is shipped with a default passwrd f "public". (This is the s-called "default public cmmunity string".) Starting with The KIP Cst Center versin the cmmunity string can be set t smething ther than public. Once the applicatin is installed g t Tl/Optins and n the General tab under Miscellaneus Setup there is a bx fr Cmmunity String. The user may enter a new cmmunity string here instead f the default public. Once set, the applicatin will remember the setting
