2 1) Cnnecting the cables Turn the unit upside dwn and write dwn its MAC address that is printed n the label. Set the switches: DIP1=Off, DIP2=Off, remaining DIP switches d nt matter. Cnnect the unit t the Ethernet (with a patch cable t a switch, crss-ver cable t a PC), RJ-45 prt. Plug the pwer adapter int a mains utlet and cnnect it t the Damcles pwer cnnectr. The green POWER LED lights up. If the Ethernet cnnectin wrks prperly, the LINK LED lights up after a shrt while, and then flashes whenever data are transferred (activity indicatin). 2) Cnfiguring the IP address UDP Cnfig UDP Cnfig utility rt directry f the supplied CD (Windws and Linux versins). Available fr dwnlad at Sftware > UDP Cnfig. Click the icn t launch UDP Cnfig. The prgram autmatically lks fr cnnected devices. T search fr devices, click the Find Devices icn. The prgram searches fr devices in yur lcal netwrk. Individual Pseidn units are identified by their MAC addresses (printed n the label at the bttm side f the unit). Duble-click a MAC address t pen a basic cnfiguratin dialg. Cnfigure netwrk parameters IP address / HTTP prt (80 by default) Netwrk mask Gateway IP address fr yur netwrk Device name (ptinal) Click the Apply Changes buttn t save the settings. Ntes: T reset the device t factry defaults, tggle DIP1 several times within 5 secnds after pwer-up. N cnfiguratin changes can be stred while DIP2=On. T change the IP address, set DIP2=Off.

3 3) Cnfiguring the IP address UDP Cnfig The UDP Cnfig utility is lcated in the rt flder f the CD, r it is available fr dwnlad at Run UDP Cnfig. The prgram autmatically searches fr cnnected devices. Duble click The prgram lks fr devices n yur lcal netwrk. T identify a particular Damcles unit, lk at the MAC address n the label at the bttm f the unit. Duble-click a MAC address t pen a basic cnfiguratin dialg. Set the IP address HTTP Prt Netwrk mask Gateway IP address Device name (ptinal) Cautin: If yu dn t knw these details r are nt sure, please cntact yur netwrk administratr. Click the Apply Changes buttn t save yur changes. Nte: Alternatively, yu may use the fllwing utilities t cnfigure the IP address: UDP Cnfig fr Linux Hercules utility (/Hercules.exe) (UDP Setup r serial prt terminal)

5 5) Flash SETUP T pen the FLASH interface, FLASH supprt needs t be installed n yur PC. If the cmputer is cnnected t the Internet, the needed plug-in is dwnladed autmatically. 6 6) Sending Alarms and alerting Damcles supprts alerts t changes n ne particular input Single Alarm, as well as alerts t a certain input cmbinatin Grup Alarm. Alarm state (On r Off) t be ntified by sending an r SNMP Trap can be cnfigured fr each individual input. >> Inputs tab, green Single Alarm clumn. Each individual Alarm needs t be activated >> Inputs tab, Enable clumn. Fr each Alarm, a target destinatin needs t be set. Fur SNMP Trap targets (named A, B, C, D) and tw targets (named E, F) are available >> Alarms tab, SNMP r clumn. Destinatins A thrugh D (fr SNMP) and E, F fr need t be cnfigured and enabled. 7 7) Cntrlling inputs / utputs with custm SW M2M prtcls Yur custm sftware can use SNMP, XML r Mdbus/TCP prtcls t cntrl utputs. PsDamIO Fr simple utput cntrl using the cmmand line, the HWg PsDamIO utility can be used. PsDamIO uplads a XML file with the requested utput states t a specified IP address. The utility is available fr Windws and Linux, including surce cde, as a part f ur HWg-SDK (available fr dwnlad at ur website). PD Trigger T react t alarms and t cntrl utputs, the PD Trigger applicatin can be used. It reacts t incming Alarm alerts by, fr instance, activating a netwrked relay. (Available fr dwnlad at ur website.) Nte: Unauthrized changes f utput states can be prevented by requiring a passwrd r cnfiguring a range f allwed IP addresses, r cmpletely denied by switching DIP 2 t ON. When DIP 2 is ON, utput states cannt be changed.

The prgrams can supervise all sensrs by (temperature and humidity sensrs, cntacts, etc) as well as sensrs by ther manufacturers. CapTemp lgs the readings int an internal database, displays several mst recent nes, and prcesses cnditins and alarms. Alerts t readings within an alarm range are sent by e- mail, r by SMS via a GSM mdem cnnected t the PC. MnTemp subsequently prcesses data stred in the database, generates graphic reprts, histgrams, and ISO r HACCP quality assurance prtcls. 12 DO Outputs Each utput cntrls tw independent relay cntacts: ne Nrmally Open cntact (NO, pen when the pwer is ff and after startup), and ne Nrmally Clsed cntact (NC, clsed when the pwer is ff and after startup). Bth cntacts ale electrically islated; hence, tw separate devices (ne cnnected t the NO terminals, the ther t the NC terminals) can be cnnected t a single utput. Cntact state (clsed / pen) is indicated by the crrespnding LED. NO NC The picture shws an example f cnnecting a 12V light bulb, pwered frm the same surce as the unit and cntrlled by the Nrmally Open cntact f utput N. 4. NO Pwer +U GND 12V Pwer DI Inputs Digital inputs can be cnnected t external vltage, r t dry cntacts (using the recmmended wiring). The inputs are electrically islated frm the device supply vltage, unless the same supply is used t cntrl them. Uncnnected inputs read as 0 (Off). Discnnected sensr detectin: Nne, discnnected sensr reads as O (Off). Activated inputs read as 1 (On), maximum resistance is given by the switching current and driving vltage. Fr a 12V supply, the resistance must be less than 3kΩ. Fr a 24V supply, the resistance must be less than 7kΩ. 14 Updating the firmware ver the WEB Uplad the firmware in a.hwg file ver http t Cnnectin prblems etc. must be avided during file transfer. If the update fails, uplad the firmware ver RS-232.
