10 LED Lifetime Estimate (per TM-2)* IESNA TM-2-, Prjecting Lng Term Lumen Maintenance f LED Light Surces is a newly develped Technical Memrandum which prvides recmmendatins fr prjecting lng term lumen maintenance f LEDs using data btained when testing per IESNA LM-80-08, IES Apprved Methd fr Measuring Lumen Maintenance f LED Light Surces. The TM-2 standard prvides an industry-wide standard and cnservative methd n which t base lumen maintenance f LEDs. Using TM-2, a prjected L 70 value can be n greater than six times the actual test duratin f the LM-80 data sets. The TM-2 prjectins represent the anticipated lumen maintenance f the LEDs and des nt accunt fr reliability f all f the ther cmpnents f the luminaire r f the luminaire as a system. Cree, currently has published 6048 hurs f LM-80 n the XLamp ML-B White where If = 80mA and Tsp = 85 C. When using the TM-2 methd t determine lumen maintenance f the ML-B based n a measured Tsp f 40 C, the reprted L70 is 36,300 hurs. This prjectin is limited by the 6X rule as defi ned in TM-2. This methd als allws lumen maintenance fr ther L-values t be calculated. The psitive [+] side f the cnnectr is marked with a [+] Imprtant: Always nte plarity f each terminal blck when making electrical cnnectins. T release tensin n the wire, gently press dwn, as shwn. T much pressure will damage the cnnectr. Mdules are easily cnnected t each ther with 8 AWG wire. Slid cpper wire is easier t insert int the terminal blck than stranded. Remve abut 5/6-inch f the insulatin and insert int the cnnectrs, as shwn. The ttal lad n any single cnnectr shuld nt exceed 6 amps, r 44-watts. 18 UL 8750 Cmpnent Why use a UL Cmpnent? End-prduct manufacturers may eliminate redundant testing and surveillance fr the cmmercially available cmpnents used in their prducts.
