1 PDI PwerPak 2 Pwer Distributin Unit Guide Specificatins (Revisin 002, 6/1/2017) 1 General 1.1 Summary These specificatins describe requirements fr a pwer distributin unit (PDU) distributing pwer t sensitive lads. 1.2 Standards The PDI PwerPak 2 PDU shall be certified thrugh ETL fr the fllwing standards: UL CS 22.2 In additin, the PwerPak 2 PDU shall be designed, manufactured, tested, and installed in cmpliance with the fllwing standards: UL67 UL50 UL489 UL 891 NFPA IEEE ANSI C33.4 NEMA ST-20 NEMA AB-1 NEMA-PB-1 NEC ISO 9001:2015 The PDI PwerPak 2 PDU shall cmply with the latest FCC Part 15 EMI emissin standard fr Class A cmputing devices. 1.3 System Descriptin Envirnmental Requirements The PwerPak 2 PDU shall have the fllwing envirnmental requirements fr peratin and strage: Acceptable temperature ranges: Strage temperature shall be between -10⁰C and +70⁰C (-33⁰F t 158⁰F). (12,200 m) abve Mean Sea Level Electrical Requirements The PDU has a kva rating f kva. The PDU input frequency shall be 60 Hz ± 5 Hz r 50 Hz ± 5 Hz. The PDU shall accept these 3-phase, 3-wire plus grund input surce 50 Hz: 380V-415VAC 60 Hz: 600, 480 r 208VAC nminal The PDU utput vltage shall be the fllwing nminal vltages, 3-phase, 4-wire plus 50 Hz: 575, 415/240, r 60 Hz: 600, 575, 480, r 208/120V 1.4 Dcumentatin Drawings PwerPak 2 PDU 1-line electrical drawings and utline drawings shall be furnished Installatin and Operatins Dcumentatin A PwerPak 2 PDU Installatin and Operatins manual shall be furnished. 3 PDI PwerPak 2 Pwer Distributin Unit Guide Specificatins (Revisin 002, 6/1/2017) 1.5 Warranty The manufacturer shall prvide a 12-mnth warranty against defects in material and wrkmanship fr 12 mnths after initial startup r 18 mnths after shipping date, whichever cmes first. 1.6 Quality Assurance The PDI PwerPak 2 PDU shall be designed and manufactured accrding t internatinally recgnized quality standards, including thse listed in sectin 1.2 Standards. The manufacturer shall be ISO 9001:2015 certified. The PDI PwerPak 2 PDU shall be factry tested befre shipment. Testing shall include at minimum: Quality cntrl checks specific t the unit and its cnfiguratin, including functin testing t determine that the unit functins as designed. Hi-Ptential Test at tw times the unit s rated vltage plus 1000 vlts, per UL requirements. Minimum ne-half hur f PDU burn-in r lnger burn-in at custmer request. Calibratin tests fr mnitring. The main cabinet and side cars shall be NEMA Type 1 enclsures and shall meet IP20 requirements. PDU Physical Cnfiguratins The PDU shall cnsist f a Main Cabinet alne r with ne r tw Side Cars. The PDU is shipped with ptinal Side Cars attached. Cmpartments Lw-vltage mnitring cmpnents shall be accessible withut expsure t high-vltage cmpnents. Lw- and high-vltage cmpnents shall be segregated int separate cmpartments in the Main Cabinet. The Main Cabinet shall have three (3) cmpartments: Input cmpartment (high-vltage) fr the Main Input Circuit Breaker and ptinal SPD/TVSS. Distributin Output sectin (high-vltage) fr utput subfeeds and panelbards. Mnitring cmpartment (lw-vltage) fr the Clr Mnitr, Branch Circuit Mnitring System (BCMS) PCBs, and related cmpnents. The ptinal 24" Side Car shall be cnfigurable as fllws: One frnt-facing Distributin Output sectin with frnt dr, and/r One side-facing Distributin Output sectin with side dr Optinal BCMS cmpnents shall be embedded int the 24" Side Car frame in ne r tw pull-ut BCMS cmpartments. The ptinal 12" Side Car shall be cnfigurable as fllws: One side-facing Distributin Output sectin with side-facing dr. BCMS cmpnents shall be enclsed in an enclsure within the sectin and shall be accessible withut expsure t high vltages. In these cnfiguratins, adding r replacing pwer distributin cables and circuit breakers shall require nly frnt access. Replacing mnitring cmpnents r wiring cmmunicatins shall require nly frnt access. Drs and physical access cntrls The PDU shall have the fllwing physical access cntrls: Lcking Lw-Vltage (Mnitring) cmpartment dr Lcking High-Vltage (Distributin Output) sectin drs n Main Cabinet and Side Cars Lcking see-thrugh drs fr circuit breaker access in Input cmpartment and Distributin Output sectins. The flr stand can be adapted t PDUs with r withut casters. Heavy duty casters are ptinal. A skirt prviding air clsure arund the PDU is ptinal. Flr munting brackets are standard with r withut the ptinal flr stand Electrical Cnstructin All wiring shall be rated per the Natinal Electrical Cde (NEC 2014). The PwerPak 2 PDU shall include a single pint grund in accrdance with FIPS Pub 94 and the requirements f the NEC. Each distributin utput sectin shall have a grund busbar fr distributin utput subfeeds and panelbard grund strips. The PDU shall have a 200%-rated neutral cpper busbar as standard in each distributin utput sectin r shall have a smaller percentage rated neutral as specified by the custmer, subject t apprval by PDI Engineering. Cable entry/exit The PwerPak 2 PDU shall allw bth tp and bttm cable entry/exit. Tp r bttm cable entry and exit plates shall be ffered t match the cnfiguratin f the unit and are ffered as fllws: Slid plate Panelbard knckut plates with duble knckuts fr 0.5" and 0.75" cnduits Mixed slid plate (fr input cnduit and distributin utput subfeeds) and panelbard duble knckuts fr 0.5" and 0.75" cnduits. 2.2 Transfrmer The PDU shall be fed frm an integral 3-phase, cpper-wund, high islatin standard transfrmer rated between 150 kva and 400 kva. The transfrmer shall be specifically designed fr the PDU and its applicatins and prvides vltage transfrmatin, vltage adjustment, high islatin, cnditining, and shielding. Each transfrmer shall be cmplete with electrstatic shielding and shall use a universal fting template inside the PDU t secure the transfrmer t its base. Standard transfrmers shall be available in kva ratings f 150, 225, 300, and 400 kva with K- factr K13 and shall cmply with DOE2016 efficiency requirements. The first set f thermal devices shall be calibrated t 180⁰C, the warning threshld. If any winding reaches 180⁰C cre temperature, the thermal verlad prtectin device shall clse a set f cntacts fr remte annunciatin f a ptential ver-temperature cnditin. The secnd set f thermal devices shall be calibrated t 195⁰C, the shutdwn threshld. If any winding reaches 195⁰C cre temperature, the thermal verlad prtectin device shall clse a set f cntacts fr remte annunciatin f an ver-temperature cnditin and will initiate an autmatic PDU shutdwn. 2.3 Pwer Cnfiguratins Input Pwer Each PDU shall have a 600V, 480V, r 400V thermal-magnetic main input circuit breaker with ptinal electrnic trip. The breaker shall be manually perated and sized in cmpliance with NEC The main input breaker shall have these kaic ratings: 600V at 22 kaic 480V at 35 kaic 400V at 35 kaic The main input bus shall als be cmpatible with a main lug nly (MLO) pwer feed that is, withut a main breaker. The grund cnductr shall cnnect t an insulated grund busbar. Standard circuit breakers are 80% rated; 100% rated circuit breakers are als available. Distributin panelbards shall each be prtected by a UL-listed and IEC-rated circuit breaker rated at 80% r 100% f the panelbard s rated amperage. 2.4 PDU Pwer Features Emergency Pwer Off The PDU shall cntain an internally pwered 120VAC shunt trip mechanism t perate a lcal Emergency Pwer Off (EPO) and t effectively interface with the WaveStar mnitring system. A circuit shall be prvided t allw this feature t be field-deactivated. 2.5 Clr Mnitr The PwerPak 2 PDU shall munt a WaveStar Clr Mnitr, a 7" diagnal clr tuchscreen n the frnt f the Mnitring cmpartment. The Clr Mnitr shall be capable f displaying mnitring infrmatin frm the PDU bard, Cntractr Bard, and all distributin utput subfeeds and panelbards Clr Mnitr Prtcls Fr netwrk cmmunicatins upstream f the Clr Mnitr, the Mnitr shall cmmunicate using any f the fllwing prtcls, which can be used simultaneusly. Add-in cards shall nt be necessary fr the Mnitr t cmmunicate upstream in any f these prtcls: Mdbus RTU (2-wire r 4-wire) Mdbus TCP/IP TCP/IP (fr Clr Mnitr web pages) SNMP Versin 1 Fr ther than Mdbus RTU, the Clr Mnitr shall require a custmer Ethernet cnnectin t the custmer netwrk Clr Mnitr Web Pages If the unit has an apprpriately cnfigured Ethernet cnnectin frm the custmer netwrk t the Clr Mnitr, web pages shwing BCMS mnitring data shall be available remtely using TCP/IP. 2.6 Cntractr Bards All Remte Emergency Pwer Off, building alarms, utput relays, cmmunicatin prts, and ther cntrl wiring shall be terminated nt a Cntractr Bard which is an integral cmpnent within the PDU system itself. The SPD shall cmply with ANSI/UL rd editin and shall incrprate a remte signaling dry cntact. SPD status lights shall be visible thrugh the frnt input cmpartment dr Current Transfrmers Fr mnitring, the PwerPak 2 PDU shall ptinally munt current transfrmer (CT) strips n the sides f the panelbards with high-accuracy 100A current transfrmers. Warning values shall be set by default t 70% f circuit breaker rating. Alarms values shall be set by default t 80% f circuit breaker rating. Alarm values fr each individual panelbard circuit shall be user-adjustable if the Nrmal pints list is used. Alarm values shall be adjustable thrugh the USB setup applicatin r thrugh a Building Management System cnnected t the Clr Mnitr thrugh an apprpriate link BCMS Subfeed Mnitred Values The fllwing shall be mnitred and displayed fr subfeed circuits with crrectly installed CTs: circuit breaker size, current, minimum current, maximum current, KW, KVA, KVAR, pwer factr (PF), crest factr, percent lad, THD, KWH, vltage, frequency, and varius alarms and warnings Alarm Status The Clr Mnitr shall display a cunt f utstanding alarms and warnings fr its dwnstream devices n mnitring screens Dry Cntacts The PwerPak 2 PDU shall ptinally prvide the fllwing dry cntact alarms, if the specified device is installed: Clr Mnitr: Summary alarm, if an alarm r warning is utstanding fr any dwnstream mnitred device SPD (TVSS): Signal fr SPD OK/Nt OK.
