1 GE Multilin 369 LV & MV Mtr Management Relay Specificatins The mtr management relay shall prvide primary prtectin and management t medium vltage mtrs. The relay shall be equipped with the fllwing prtectin functins. Mtr Thermal Overlad Mdel (49) Include 15 standard verlad curves, a custm curve feature, and a curve specifically designed fr the starting f high inertia lads, when the acceleratin time exceeds the safe stall time The statr prtective thermal mdel shall cmbine inputs frm phase and unbalance currents, and RTD winding feedback. This will then cause the mdel t becme dynamic in nature in rder t fllw the lading and temperature f the mtr Mtr cling time cnstants Rtr prtectin during stall and acceleratin. 2 Antibackspin prtectin ensuring that the mtr can nly be re-started when it has slwed t within acceptable limits. A backspin detectin vltage input shall be prvided t measure frequency. If the measured frequency is belw a prgrammed minimum threshld, the backspin start inhibit shall be remved Starts-per-hur (66) Minimum-time-between-starts The relay shall prvide an ptin fr vltage transfrmer inputs, which shall be used t prvide vervltage (59), undervltage (27), vltage phase reversal (47), verfrequency (81O) and underfrequency (81U) functins The relay shall be equipped with an Undervltage Aut-restart functin that will restart the mtr after an undervltage trip caused by a mmentary lss f pwer 12 RTD inputs with assciated ver-temperature prtectin functins including alarm and trip settings, with crrespnding settable time delays, and assciated utputs. The fllwing additinal functinality shall be prvided, assciated t RTDs: Able t cnfigure each f the twelve RTDs as Nne r any ne f fur applicatin types: Statr, Bearing, Ambient, r Other RTD type shall be selectable between fur different RTD types: 100 Ohm Platinum, 120 Ohm Nickel, 100 Ohm Nickel, r 10 Ohm Cpper The mtr relay shall incrprate the RTD inputs t supprt the fllwing: Thermal verlad mdel biasing Temperature alarms and trips (49/38) RTD pen- r shrt-circuit alarm The mtr relay shall include trip vting fr extra reliability in the event f RTD malfunctin. If enabled, a secnd RTD must als exceed the trip temperature f the RTD being checked befre a trip is issued Prvisins shall be included t allw the RTDs t be identified by name The relay shall be able t mnitr up t fur remte RTD mdules, each with 12 RTD inputs, with assciated ver-temperature prtectin functins including alarm and trip settings, settable time delays, and assciated utputs. 3 Prtectin functins assciated t Pwer, which include alarm and trip settings, with crrespnding settable time delays, and assciated utputs: Pwer Factr (55) Reactive Pwer Under Pwer (37) Reverse Pwer The relay shall perate with either wye-cnnected (fur wire) r pen -delta-cnnected (three wire) ptential transfrmers, and three phase, fur wire cnnected current transfrmers. The relay shall include prvisins t allw its use in cnjunctin with variable frequency drives. All f the elements shall functin prperly with the exceptins f vltage and pwer elements. The mtr prtectin relay shall have five (5) utput relay s, and six (6) digital inputs. The utput relays shall be as fllws: Trip Relay, Alarm Relay, tw auxiliary relays, and a service relay. Five f the six digital inputs shall have the fllwing pre-assigned default functins: Access Switch t allw changing f any setpint values frm the face plate Differential Switch t accept inputs frm an external differential prtectin relay Emergency Restart t allw a ht mtr t be restarted External Reset, t allw resetting trips r latched alarms Speed Switch t accept a trip signal frm a speed mnitring device Althugh assigned default functins, these five inputs, alng with the ne remaining spare input, can be user prgrammable t alternate functins. The functin that the input is used fr may be chsen frm the fllwing list f functins: Starter Status cnfigured fr either an 'a' r 'b' auxiliary cntact, Wavefrm Capture, Digital Cunter, DeviceNet Cntrl, and General Switch functins in which an alarm and/r trip may then be cnfigured fr that input. The relay shall be able t mnitr the digital inputs f up t fur remte RTD mdules. The relay shall allw mtr starting and stpping via any f the cmmunicatin prts. When a Stp cmmand is sent the TRIP relay shall be activated fr 1 secnd t cmplete stp sequence. When a Start cmmand is issued, an utput relay shall be assigned fr starting cntrl, which shall be activated fr 1 secnd t cmplete the start sequence. The Serial Cmmunicatin Cntrl functin shall als be used t reset the relay and activate a wavefrm capture.

4 The relay shall be capable f prtecting the mtr during the entire starting prcess in Reduce Vltage starting applicatins. The relay shall prvide cmplete mnitring and metering functins. These shall include: Current: Phasrs, RMS Values f per Phase, Average, Mtr Lad, Current Unbalance, Unbalance Biased Mtr Lad, Grund, Differential Currents Vltage: Phasrs, RMS Values f Phase-Phase and Phase-Neutral, Average Vltage Frequency Temperature f each RTD Inputs Mtr Speed (RPM) Pwer: Pwer Factr, Three phase Real (kw, hp), Reactive (kvar), Apparent (kva) Pwer Energy: Watt-hurs, Var-hurs Demand: Rlling Demand methd, time interval, prgrammed t 5 t 90 min in steps f 1 minute An event recrder with a recrd f the last 512 events, time tagged with a reslutin f 10 ms The wavefrm capture feature is similar t a transient/fault recrder. The parameters which can be trended by the Setup sftware shall be: Phase Currents A, B, and C, and Average Phase Current, Mtr Lad, Current Unbalance, Grund Current, System Frequency, Vltages Vab, Vbc, Vca Van, Vbn & Vcn, Pwer Factr, Real (kw r hp) Reactive (kvar), and Apparent (kva) Pwer, Psitive Watt-hurs, Psitive and Negative Var-hurs, Httest Statr RTD, Thermal Capacity Used, RTDs 1 thrugh 12 temperature, Remte RTDs 1 thrugh 12 The relay shall include fur transducer utputs with a settable DC utput range f 0 t 20 ma, 4 t 20 ma r 0 t 1 ma, which may be assigned t any measured parameter. The range f these utputs shall be scalable The relay shall be able t mnitr up t fur remte RTD mdules, each with fur Analgue Outputs, with settable DC utput range and functinality identical t the n bard Analgue Outputs.
