75 Appendix C: SafeDC Appendix C: SafeDC When AC supply t the inverter is shut ff (by shutting ff the AC breaker at the site), r when the inverter ON/OFF/P switch is turned t OFF, the DC vltage drps t a safe vltage f 1V per ptimizer. The SlarEdge inverters are certified fr cmpliance with the fllwing standards as discnnectin devices fr PV generatrs, meaning that they can replace a DC discnnect: IEC : Crrigendum: A1: Crrigendum 1: A2:2005; DIN EN VDE : IEC : DIN VDE : In cmpliance with these standards, the discnnectin mechanism perates as fllws: 1. Turn the inverter ON/OFF/P switch, lcated at the bttm f the inverter, t OFF, r discnnect the AC by shutting ff the AC breaker at the site. The DC vltage displayed n the inverter LCD begins t decrease. If the AC breaker was shut ff, the LCD des nt display. In this case, wait five minutes. 2. When the DC vltage reaches a safe vltage, the PV cnnectrs at the input t the inverter can be discnnected. A galvanic separatin then exists between the PV array and the inverter. WARNING! SafeDC cmplies with IEC when installing the system with a wrst case SafeDC vltage (under fault cnditins) < 120V. The wrst case vltage is defined as: Vc,max+ (String Length-1)*1V,where: Vc,max = Maximum Vc (at lwest temperature) f the PV mdule in the string (fr a string with multiple mdule mdels, use the max value) String Length = number f pwer ptimizers in the string 74
