SUBJECT Sftware and Hardware Versins f the E4 Engine ENGINES AFFECTED Type: Serial numbers: E4 Engine all 1.3. REASON Accrding t the Type Certificate Data Sheet (TCDS) N. E.200, Chapter VI Nte 1, this SB declares the apprved sftware and hardware versins fr the Electrnic Engine Cntrl Unit (EECU). With ptinal sftware versin VC33_x_05_16_D a return fuel heating feature is prvided, which is activated belw +8 C feeding fuel temperature at HPP and deactivated as sn as +13 C feeding fuel temperature at the HPP is reached. This enables easier peratin with Diesel fuel at lwer ambient utside temperatures. 2 2. TECHNICAL DETAILS 2.1. ACCOMPLISHMENT / INSTRUCTIONS Make sure that the EECU sftware versin f yur engine S/N cmplies with the sftware versin shwn in Table 1. Fr the read-ut-prcedure f yur EECU sftware versin see engine Maintenance Manual Dc. N. E chapter EECU Read Out. If the EECU sftware versin f yur engine des nt cmply with a valid versin as listed in Table 1 it is mandatry t be updated with the versin shwn in Table 1. It is always recmmended t update the sftware with the latest valid versin relevant fr yur engine serial number. Update the sftware accrding t the Maintenance Manual chapter Within the MM all necessary steps fr perfrming a successful sftware update are described. 4 Details f sftware: Sftware versin VC33_x_05_13 imprves bst pressure regulatin and enables t cnduct an engine self-test at r abve 34 C gearbx il temperature. Sftware versin VC33_x_05_14 intrduces an enhanced cautin indicatin fr defective fuel-, clant- r il- temperature sensr. Sftware versin VC33_x_05_15 crrects errneus gvernr mechanical jam indicatins (DTC failure errr cde 1C03, errr type MAX). Sftware versin VC33_x_05_16 includes a sfter shut-ff behavir and an increased tlerance f the bst pressure gvernr mnitring at lw lads fr all engine cnfiguratins. Fr the E4-A engine the maximum trque applied during the self-test prcedure is increased fr cld ambient cnditins. As this mdificatin f the self-test prcedure is nt applicable t the E4-C engines, a separate SW versin fr E4-C engines had t be created ILLUSTRATIONS 2.3.
