1 3 CENTRAL PANEL DISPLAY SYSTEM 3.1 GENERAL COMPLEMENTARY FLIGHT MANUAL The CPDS includes the Vehicle and Engine Management Display (VEMD) and the Cautin Advisry Panel (CAD). The CPDS displays the necessary engine and vehicles parameters. 3.2 CONTROLS VEMD Energize r cut the prcessing mdule 1 (2) and upper (lwer) screen. Scrll the different screen pages. 2 ELECruEHcntrls Pressing SELECT key nce causes a white rectangle t appear arund the ELEC field. r Use the "+" r "-" keys t selecthe desired infrmatin surce. A surce selected must be validated using the ENTER key within 5 s, therwise the field is deselected. Pressing ENTER key validates the selectin. The available surce are: SELECTOR - GEN 1 - GEN 2 r Pressing SELECT key twice causes a white rectangle t appear arund the VEH field. Use the "+n r "-" keys t display the pressure and temperature digits. r Pressing ENTER key validates the selectin. 4 3.3.1 System status r u) u] Figure 18 - VEMD : System status page The SCROLL key activates the "SYSTEM STATUS" page. One "MSG" line with 2 znes f 10 characters each. One "FAIL" line with 2znes f 10 characters each. Numerical values, names and units fr 8 parameters frm FADEC 1 and 2:. P0: Current air pressure measured at the engine air intake.. P3: Current air pressure measured at the cmpressr utput.. N1: Gas generatr speed.. N2: Free turbine speed.. TOT: Turbine utputemperature.. T0: Current air temperature measured at the engine air intake.. CLP: Cllective pitch.. IAS: Indicated air speed. Pressing "SELECT" key when this page is displayed, displays a white rectangle arund the "MSG" line. Pressing this key again mves the rectangle t the "FAIL" line. The uantity f fuel available in a fuel tank grup is displayed in tw frms:. A blue band the height f which is prprtinal t the uantity f fuel present in the fuel tank. The right grup indicatr is lnger than the left ne because it hlds mre fuel.. A figure which indicates the percentage f fuel in the grup (percentage f 1000 kg). The endurance is calculated frm the luel flw rate and the remaining fuel uanlity available. This time is displayed in hur(s) and minute(s). The hrizntal band graph is shwn when the additinal 18O-liter fuel tank is installed. The arrws flash when the slenid valve is energized. The "FUEL" message, cmes int view when any f the fllwing sensrs in the engine cmpartment trips:. 'PRS' 1 and/r 2 (light n the Fuel Management Panel cmes n).. 'FILT" 1 and/r 2 (light n the Fuel Management panel cmes n). Page 27

6 3.4.1 CAU page COMPLEMENTARY FLIGHT MANUAL This page displays all amber warnings and the advisries fr the helicpter in 3 clumns (Left warnings, miscellaneus advisries, Right warnings). The amber warnings are displayed frm the tp t the bttm f the page while the advisries are displayed in green in the center clumn, belw the amber messages START mde The fllwing prcedure is autmatically dne, but is inhibited in case f CPDS pwer n in flight. During the pwer n phase f the system, the CPDS checks the availability f sme cautins. lf sme cautins are failed r if a subsystem is detected as failed during this phase a cautin linked t this event will be displayed. Under nrmal cnditins, because the engines are nt started r because external pwer unit is linked t the helicpter, sme cautins are nrmally active. Accrding t a specific list, this cautins are autmatically acknwledged. lf ne f them is missing a white message "lnp FAIL" is activated n the CAD CAUTION display When ne r mre cautins are displayed :. All alarms already acknwledged are cleared, leaving the three clumns blank. The new cautins are displayed in their respective clumns. Tw thick yellw line blink n tp and at the bttm f the screen. Cautins are displayed in the rder f ccurrence. lf a fault disappears, the crrespnding cautin is cleared after 5 s and the warnings displayed underneath are mved up ne line. The crew Acknwledge the warnings by pressing a buttn n cyclic stick r n CAD (CAD SELECT key, VEMD SELECT key if the CAD is nt available and VEMD presents cautin back up page). Once the warnings are acknwledged, they are classified by rder f their arrival in their respective clumns. The blinking lines disappear. When the clumn is full, "1 OF 2" message appears n tp the middle clumn, indicating that a secnd page has been started. 7,3 Page 28

7 CAU page cntrls By pressing the SCROLL key n the CAD, the crew can scrll between the varius pages, by circular permutatin. ll the CAD is nt available, the SCROLL key f the VEMD ensures the same functin if the VEMD displays the cautin back up page ANl page This page is nly available when the VEMD is ttally switched ff. 8 3.5 OPERATION Pwer-up The VEMD and the CAD are switched n when the BAT/ESS switch is set t ON. The euipments perfrm an initializatin test which checks crrecl peratin. During the test, the fllwing message is displayed. lf the test is crrect, the VEMD and the CAD autmatically g t perating mde. lf the test is faulty, the fllwing is displayed :. On VEMD : The lane cncerned can be switch ff by pressingthe assciated pushbuttn (OFF 1 r OFF 2). This validates the initializatin tests and switched n the remaining lane t perating mde. OnCAD: Pressing OFF shut dwn the CAD and validate switching t the VEMD's recnfigurable mde. Page 30

9 3.5.2 Access t CONFIG mde NOTE The CONFIG mde can be activated nly if the VEMD has detected a helicpter grund cnditin.. Press the VEMD'OFF 1'and "OFF 2" keys t deactivate the 2 channels. Simultaneusly press and keep depressed the "SELECT" and "ENTER" keys. r Press the "OFF 1" and "OFF 2" keys t reactivate bth the VEMD channels. After display f the "TEST ln PROGRESS" and "RELEASE KEYS' messages, release the "SELECT" and "ENTER" keys and the "CONFIG" mde will appear Test pattern The test pattern is a page displayed when the crew press lhe TEST lighting pushbuttn n the verhead panel.
