In particuar, the maximum permissibe connection vaues of the measuring inputs, the connection images and the power suppy differ from the instaed device SINEAX A210. In addition, there are no puse / imit vaue outputs. 3 I Initia inspection npac the device and the suppied accessories immediatey upon receipt and examine for competeness: npacing Apart from the usua diigence in handing eectronic devices, no particuar precautionary measures are required in handing the device when unpacing. The transport pacaging provides for sufficient protection from the usua intransit wear. se equivaent pacaging materias when repacing. Visua inspection Compare the order number/type identification on the pacaging and/or device with the detais on the shipping documents. Determine whether a accessories have been deivered (1.1 Accessories incuded in deivery) Examine the pacaging as we as the mechanics of device and accessories for possibe transport damage. Compaints In case any damages are noted, a compaint shoud be fied with the transport company immediatey (eep the pacaging!). In case of any other deficiencies or if repairing the device is necessary, pease inform the responsibe representation or directy contact the address stated on the ast page. II Safety instructions Read this section carefuy. It contains the most important safety instructions for handing the device. WARNING: An operating instruction, a practica appication, etc. which must absoutey be observed in order to maintain the safety protection of the device and to avoid injury of persons. ATTENTION: An operating instruction, a practica appication, etc. which must absoutey be observed in order to avoid damage of the device and safeguard proper operation. The most important safety instructions are summarised beow. These warnings are referred to in the reevant passages of the operating instructions. WARNING 1 ower connection ony to be made via the mains adapter incuded in deivery. Operation with other mains adapters may resut in dangerous differences of potentia. WARNING 2 Do not ater the output votage of the suppied mains adapter. Otherwise, the operator assumes the responsibiity. In case of a defect caused by this, any guaranty caims wi be rejected. WARNING 3 The device may ony be operated by persons capabe of recognising the dangers of contact and taing precautionary measures. The danger of contact exists wherever votages arger than 50 V can occur. WARNING 4 When measurements are conducted in which there is the danger of contact, avoid woring aone. In this case, ca in another person. WARNING 5 The maximum permissibe potentia of the current or votage measuring inputs, respectivey, against earth is as foows: for connection to an overvotage category III circuit: 300 V for connection to an overvotage category II circuit: 600 V The current camp used must aso be rated for this eve. ATTENTION Mae absoutey sure that the measuring inputs are not exposed to more than the permissibe oad. The maximum permissibe eves are: at the votage measuring inputs against N, 346 V, respectivey at the votage measuring inputs against, 600 V, respectivey at the current measuring inputs I, 1.2A, respectivey (current camp WZ11 A max. 240A corresponds to 240mA at the device) WARNING 6 Do not perform any measurements with this device in circuits with corona discharge (high votage). WARNING 7 You may ony perform measurements in a 50 or 60 Hz grid without any DC portion

4 WARNING 8 Aways anticipate measured objects (e.g. defective devices) to show unforeseen votages. Capacitors, for exampe, can be dangerousy charged. WARNING 9 Measurements in humid ambient conditions are not permissibe. The device must not be exposed to moisture. WARNING 10 eep the measuring cabes in immacuate condition, e.g. no damage of insuation, no interruption of cabes, connectors, etc. WARNING 11 Connect the measuring ines to the measuring instrument before connecting the eectric oad. WARNING 12 If it is assumabe that the instrument can no onger be empoyed safey, it has to be put out of commission and secured against unintentiona use. Safe operation can no onger be expected: if the device is visiby damaged, if the device does not function, after onger periods of storage under unfavourabe conditions, after severe in-transit wear. WARNING 13 Do not open the housing cover. This might uncover current-carrying parts. Maintenance and repair wor may ony be carried out by our service department. WARNING 14 Mae sure the device is switched off when not used for onger periods. Excessive discharge of the battery may impair its serviceabe ife

5 1 Accessories 1.1 Accessories incuded in deivery The A210-HANDHED scope of deivery incudes: 1 A210-HANDHED power anayser inc. i-ion battery 1 Cabe set for the votage measuring inputs, consisting of 4 measuring cabes 4 Attachabe aigator crimps 3 200A current camps WZ11 A 1 Mains adapter 1 RS232 interface cabe 1 Transport case for device and accessories 1 CD containing C software 1 A210-HANDHED and SINEAX A210/A220 instruction manua 1 WZ11 A current camp instruction manua 1.2 Avaiabe accessories further current camp variants on request 2 Commissioning 2.1 Switching on se the On/Off switch [3] to switch the device on/off. The integrated EDs [7] indicate the active status or the charging status of the battery : - ED green: Battery fuy charged (approx % of capacity) - ED green + ED yeow: Battery haf charged (approx.85-40% of capacity) - ED yeow + ED red : Battery empty soon (approx.40-0% of capacity) - ED red: Battery empty (dispay is not iuminated) - no EDs iuminated: ow discharge of battery (with device switched on) When switched on, the contro unit of the device runs an initiaisation routine. During this routine, the ED dispay [14] shows the foowing information: - the device name - the version of integrated device software, e.g. V 1.04 Then the device changes to the function of the rendition used ast. 2.2 ower connection (observe WARNING 1!) The use of the mains adapter requires a power suppy of 100 to 240 VAC. Connection to the mains is made via the socet instaed in the bottom of the device

6 3 Measuring circuit for performance / energy anayses 3.1 Measuring connection The A210-HANDHED has the votage measuring inputs, 2, 3 and N. Measurements in a medium-votage power grid must generay be conducted via a votage converter instaed in the pant! Their conversion ratio can be adopted from the setup menu -I in. Votage is usuay connected to the measured object by means of the provided measuring cabes with 4 mm safety connectors and probes. The measuring inputs are designed for connection to overvotage category III circuits up to 300 V (or CAT.II up to 600V). If the device is used in grids of this category, the measuring accessories used (e.g. current camp, measuring cabes, etc.) must compy at east with this category, too.see the respective specifications for accessory categories. The ow potentia of the respective votage and current path must be connected with corresponding socet (bac). The conversion ratios of current camps and of possiby existing votage converters have to be accurate (setup menu -I in). Interchanging the connectors resuts in misinterpretation. The dispay does not provide any information on the compete and correct connection of measured objects.. For instance, a phase not connected in a three-phase measurement can resut in misinterpretation of the three-wire measured variabes (e.g. 13, 23, 31). Inputs not connected are rated 0 (zero) and entered in the cacuation accordingy. Therefore, you shoud pay attention to the pausibiity of measuring resuts at the beginning of your measurements. Chec - the correct setting of conversion ratios on basis of the magnitude of the vaues and I - the correct poarity of the connectors on basis of the poarity of the vaues measured Measurement in 4 wire 3 phase asymmetric oad - fu connection In 4 wire 3 phase grids with asymmetric oad and for harmonics anaysis in the votage paths, three votage measuring systems have to be connected. Current is measured in the phases, 2 and 3, and votage between the phases, 2, 3 and neutra, respectivey. Set the grid type to 4 wire asymmetric oad (4u) in the setup menu (-I in). In genera, 4 wire 3 phase grids are owvotage grids (115/200 or 230/400 Vot) so that no votage converter is required Measurement in 4 wire 3 phase asymmetric oad Open-Y circuit This grid type is not integrated in the A210-Handhed

7 3.1.3 Measurement in 4 wire 3 phase symmetric oad In 4 wire 3 phase grids, one current measuring system and one votage measuring system are sufficient. Current is usuay measured in phase, votage between phase and neutra. Set the grid type to 4 wire symmetric oad (4b) in the setup menu (-I in) Measurement in 3 wire 3 phase asymmetric oad - fu connection This grid type is not integrated in the A210-Handhed Measurement in 3 wire 3 phase asymmetric oad - Aron circuit For measurements in 3 wire 3 phases grids, two current measuring systems are usuay sufficient. (two wattmeter method / Aron circuit). Current is usuay measured in and 3. The absence of neutra conductor current is utiised. Votage is measured in the three votage paths against an artificia zero point. Set the grid type to 3 wire asymmetric oad Aron circuit (3u) in the setup menu (-I in). The 3 wire 3 phase grids are used in the medium and high votage range. In some cases they are aso found as specia grid types in the ow votage range

This ce ony needs repacing if you note materiay decreased capacity. If handed correcty, this shoud ony be the case after severa years of use. Repacement may ony be performed by our service department. After such period, we recommend a genera overhau of the device. 6. 12 Brief description The A 210/A 220 are pane mounting instruments for monitoring AC systems with dimensions 96 x 96 mm (A 210) and 144 x 144 mm (A 220). The foowing measurements are acquired: votages, currents, frequency, and phase anges in singe phase or 3 phase systems. From these, the active power, reactive power, apparent power, active energy, reactive energy, and the power factor and the neutra current can be cacuated. With the use of votage and current transformers, the instrument can be used for measurements in medium and high votage systems. The trans-formation ratios are configurabe for the direct dispay of a measurements. The A 210/ A 220 instrument is used as a dispay with two S0 puse or imit vaue outputs. This is cacuated by the SINEAX A 210/A 220 as a signed vaue. Transducers and dispays can possiby dispay different vaues for the reactive power in the same power system. The foowing tabe shows a parameters with their adjustabe ranges or possibe seections respectivey. The bac numbers give a cross-reference to the appropriate diagram position on page 30. Starting at the measurands dispay by pressing the ey you may change to the menu eve.
