The test instrument is capabe of executing a measurements for testing the effectiveness of safety measures in eectrica systems as required by IEC (DIN VDE ) and other countryspecific standards, and as specified in the individua sections of DIN EN (VDE 0413). Thanks to its inteigent and ergonomic design, intuitive operation and an advanced technica concept, it s aigned consistenty to routine daiy tasks making it the idea companion for any eectrician. Large Votage and Frequency Ranges A broad-range measuring device permits use of the test instrument in a aternating and 3-phase eectrica systems with votages from 65 to 500 V and frequencies of 16 to 400 Hz. Loop and Line Impedance Measurement Measurement of oop and ine impedance can be performed in the 65 to 500 V range. Conversion to short-circuit current is based on the respective nomina ine votage, insofar as the measured ine votage is within the specified range. Measuring error for the PROFITEST INTRO is aso taken into account for conversion. Outside of this range, short-circuit current is cacuated on the basis of momentary ine votage and measured impedance. Measurement of Insuation Resistance Using Nomina Votage with Variabe or Rising Test Votage Insuation resistance is usuay measured with a nomina votage of 500, 250 or 100 V. A test votage which deviates from nomina votage, and ies within a range of 20/50 to 1000 V, can be seected for measurements at sensitive components, as we as systems with votage imiting devices. Measurement can be performed with a constanty rising test votage in order to detect weak points in the insuation and determine tripping votage for votage imiting devices. Votage at the device under test and any triggering/breakdown votage appear at the test instrument s dispay. Low-Resistance Measurement Bonding conductor resistance and protective conductor resistance can be measured with a test current of 200 ma DC, automatic poarity reversa of the test votage and seectabe current fow direction. If the adjustabe imit vaue is exceeded, an LED ights up. 2 Dispay with Seectabe Language The LCD pane consists of a backit dot matrix at which menus, setting options, measurement resuts, tabes, instructions and error messages, as we schematic diagrams appear. The dispay can be set to the desired anguage depending on the country in which the test instrument is used: D, GB, I, F, E, P, NL, S, N, FIN, CZ or PL Operation Device functions are seected directy with the hep of a rotary seector switch. Softkeys aow for convenient seection of subfunctions and parameter settings. Unavaiabe functions and parameters are automaticay prevented from appearing at the dispay. Schematic diagrams, measuring ranges and hep texts can be dispayed for a basic functions and sub-functions. An optiona remote contro (Z550A) can be connected for difficut to access ocations, from which the RCD tripping function and a other measuring functions can be started. Phase Tester Protective conductor potentia is tested after starting a test sequence and touching the contact surface for finger contact (by pressing the START key). The PE symbo appears at the dispay if a potentia difference of more than 25 V is detected between the contact surface and the protective contact at the mains pug. Error Indication The instrument automaticay detects instrument-to-system connection errors, which are indicated in a connection pictograph. Errors within the eectrica system (no mains or phase votage, tripped RCD) are indicated at two LEDs and by means of popup windows at the titing LCD pane. Battery Monitoring and Sef-Test Battery monitoring is conducted whie the instrument is subjected to an eectrica oad. Resuts are dispayed both numericay and with a symbo. Test images can be caed up one after the other, and LEDs and the acoustic signa can be tested during the seftest. The test instrument is shut down automaticay when the batteries or NiMH rechargeabe batteries (option) are depeted. A microprocessor controed charging circuit is used to assure safe charging of rechargeabe NiMH batteries. Data Entry at the RS-232 Port Data can be read in via a barcode or RFID scanner connected to the RS-232 port, and comments can be entered with the hep of the softkeys. USB Data Interface Measurement data are transmitted to a PC via the integrated USB port, at which they can be printed in report form and archived. Software Update The test instrument can aways be kept current thanks to firmware which can be updated via the USB port. Software is updated during the course of recaibration by our service department, or directy by the customer. Distribution structures with eectrica circuit and RCD data can be individuay defined. Created structures can be saved to memory and oaded to the test instrument as required via the USB port. 7 Specia Functions Tripping Test for Type B, AC/DC Sensitive RCDs with Rising DC Residua Current and Measurement of Tripping Current With the seector I F /ma Tripping switch in the I F position, sowy rising current fows via N and PE. The momentary measured current vaue is Start continuousy dispayed. When the t [s] RCCB is tripped, the ast measured current vaue is dispayed. A greaty reduced rate of increase is used for deayed RCCBs (type S ). Tripping Test for Type B, AC/DC Sensitive RCDs with Constant DC Residua Current and Measurement of Tripping Time With the seector switch set to the respective nomina residua current, twice the seected nomina current fows via N and PE. Time to trip is measured for the RCCB and dispayed. Loop Resistance Measurement with Suppression of RCD Tripping The test instruments make it possibe to measure oop impedance in TN systems with type A, F and AC RCCBs (10, 30, 100, 300, 500 ma nomina residua current). The respective test instrument generates a DC residua current to this end, which saturates the RCCB s magnetic I F /ma circuit. t t1 t2 t3 The test instrument then superimposes a measuring current which ony demonstrates haf-waves Measuring Operation RCD Disabed! of ike poarity. The Start RCCB is no onger capabe of detecting this measuring current, and is consequenty not tripped during measurement.
