1 Eectronic Circuit Protector ESX0-T.-DC 2 V Description The mode ESX0-T extends our product group of eectronic overcurrent protection devices for DC 2 V appications. At a width of ony 2.5 mm it provides seective protection for a DC 2 V oad circuits. This is achieved by a combination of active eectronic current imitation in the event of a short circuit and overoad disconnection typicay from. times rated current. The ESX0-T is track-mountabe and provides ease of instaation for groups of devices with severa circuits. DC 2 V switch-mode power suppies are widey used in automation technoogy today. In the event of an overoad, however, they turn down the output votage which is intended to power a connected oads. So if there is a faiure in a singe oad of the system, the suppy votage wi break down aso in a other oad circuits. Not ony does this frequenty cause undefined faut conditions, but it can even ead to machine stoppages or system downtimes. This is exacty where the ESX0-T comes in by responding to the overoad conditions faster than the switch-mode power suppy. The max. possibe overcurrent is imited to typicay times rated current (see tabe ). This aows switching on capacitive oads of up to 75,000 µf, but a disconnection wi ony be effected in the event of an overoad or short circuit. For adjustment to the oad conditions the current rating can be seected in fixed vaues from 0.5 A... 2 A or in adjustabe ratings, e.g. 2 A/ A/6 A. Status and faiure indication is by means of a muti-cooured LED, an integra short circuit proof status output or by singe or group aarms. Remote actuation is possibe by a remote reset signa or a remote contro signa ON/OFF. The manua ON/OFF switch on the device itsef aows start-up of certain individua oad circuits. As soon as the ESX0-T detects overoad or short circuit in its oad circuit, it bocks the oad output transistor and disconnects the current fow in the fauty circuit. After remedy of the faiure, the oad output of the ESX0-T is re-activated by an eectronic reset signa or manuay by actuating the ON/OFF button.
