1 SIEAX DME 406 with PROFIBS-DP Programmabe Mti-Transdcer for the measrement of eectrica variabes in heavycrrent power system Appication SIEAX DME 406 (Fig. 1) is a programmabe transdcer with a PROFIBS-DP connection that simtaneosy measres a variabes of a heavy-crrent power system. The device conforms to the PROFIBS standard E The PROFIBS is an open fi ed-bs standard independent of manfactres with a wide range of appications. The PROFIBS spports the commnication of devices from different manfactrers withot specia adaptations to the interface. The transdcers are aso eqipped with an RS 232 seria interface to which a PC with the corresponding software can be connected for programming or accessing and execting sef anciary fnctions. The sa methods of connection, the rated vaes of the inpt variabes and the type of interna energy metering are the main parameters that can be programmed. The anciary fnctions incde a power system chec, a faciity for printing rating abes and provision for reading and setting the power meter. The transdcer ffi s a the essentia reqirements and regations concerning eectromagnetic compatibiity (EMC) and Safety (IEC 1010 resp. E ).
