1 Instaation Instructions Futureguard FexShade Zip by Draper READ BEFORE YOU BEGIN Inspect a boxes to make sure you have received the proper parts. 2 Open cartons engthwise. 3 A hardware must be instaed eve. Shades must be eve d square. 4 Fasters are not suppied by Futureguard. It is the responsibiity of the instaer to make sure that appropriate os for the mounting surface are used. For Jamb Mounting, Futureguard recommends the use of ow profie head screws to aow the zippers to easiy pass through the s. 5 For instaing units in recessed areas where there isn t room to mount the Headbox to the s, pease see note on page 6. 6 FexShade Zip is desigd to operate ony when the fabric pe is instaed verticay, perpendicuar to the ground. PLEASE NOTE: It is the responsibiity of the instaer to use appropriate fasters for the mounting surface. 2 Verify unit measurements d make sure it wi fit in the desired ocation. PLEASE NOTE: The Hembar does not retract into the Headbox. If there is no cabe exit provided, you must dri o. Before driing out a cabe exit, remove the Roer Assemby from the Headbox. (See Removing Roer Assemby section on Page 3) Remove the 3 screws d the on the motor side of the Headbox d dri a 5 6 diameter hoe in o of the 3 suggested ocations (See Fig. 2). After driing, repace the d return the Roer Assemby. After the screen is instaed d before the Headbox Fascia Cover is instaed, remove the doube-sided tape d appy the sma brush seas to the face of the s as shown in (Fig. 3). A MOUNTING HEADBOX WITH BRACKETS Attaching Mounting Brackets Attach Mounting Brackets to the wa using fat head screws instaed fush with the bracket. Be sure to use AT LEAST 2 of the top mounting hoes (See Fig. 4). 2 Pace the Headbox onto the brackets d tighten Set Screws (See Fig 5). Tighten Set Screws B MOUNTING HEADBOX PERMANENTLY TO CEILING OR WITH SCREWS Attaching Mounting Brackets to Headbox Attach Mounting brackets to the Headbox as a spacer between the Headbox d the wa. Leave a ¾ (45mm) gap between d Mounting Bracket (See Fig. 6), d tighten set screws. 2 Removing Roer Assemby (See Fig. 7) A. Remove screws from bottom of Headbox, remove Fascia d set aside. B. Remove Quick Reease Pin from Ider End of Roer Assemby. Attach to mounting surface using appropriate fasters. PLEASE NOTE: It is the responsibiity of the instaer to use appropriate fasters for the mounting surface. Instaing Zip 27 Anged Headbox Supported by s ATTACHING SIDE CHANNELS SURFACE OR JAMB MOUNTING Measure the width of the Headbox. s must be instaed to match the exact width of the Headbox d must be square d parae. Figure 5 Use 3mm Hex Wrench to remove screws from s d set aside. 2 Remove Covers. REMOVE FASCIA PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT remove the Bottom Caps from s. 3 For jamb mounting, aso remove the Zip Fabric Retair Strip d set aside. 4 Pre-dri through s in at east three mounting points (See Fig. 9 under Preparation on page 4). HEADBOX MOUNTING STUD HEADBOX MOUNTING STUD ZIPPER HEMBAR 5 Attach to the mounting surface using appropriate fasters. 6 If jamb mounted, repace the previousy removed Zipper Fabric Retair Strips, making sure the ged eg is toward the back d the Zipper fun is up (See Fig. 3 above). Pace Headbox onto the s whie simuteousy inserting the Zipper on each side of the Hembar into the Zipper Retair Strips in each (See Fig. 6).

6 Futureguard FexShade Zip by Draper page 6 ALTERNATE MOUNTING FOR JAMB RECESSED AND POCKET INSTALLATIONS (Zip 27 Anged Ony) If the system is instaed in a recess, it is unikey that 6¼ there (58mm) wi be sufficient space above the s to aow the Headbox 5 to be mounted onto them after the chs are instaed. In these instces, we recommend using the wa/perment mounting procedure. The minimum depth of the ceiing pocket for the Fex Shade Zip 92 is 4¾ (20mm), d for the FexShade Zip 27 is 6¼ (58mm). See Fig. 7. Seect the trsmitter/ch you wt to use. Press d hod both the Up d Down buttons simuteousy unti the motor jogs, then reease (a jog is a short up d down movement of the motor). CHECK/CHANGE THE DIRECTION Check the direction of operation (the motor wi operate in momentary fashion). Confirm that the Up button brings the appication up or in. To chge the direction, press the Stop button for more th 5 seconds unti the motor jogs, then reease. Check the direction. SETTING THE LIMITS Start at d upper reference point (upper imit). Press both the Stop d Down buttons simuteousy unti the motor begins to rotate, then reease. Stop the motor where you wt to set the ower imit. Adjust if cessary by pressing the Up or Down buttons. Press d hod both the Stop d Up buttons simuteousy unti the motor rotates up, then reease. Stop the motor where you wt to set the upper imit (or it wi stop automaticay at the initia upper reference point). Adjust if cessary. Press the Stop for 5 seconds unti the motor jogs. The imits are now recorded. Press the Programming button for 3 seconds unti the motor jogs to record the trsmitter for user mode (the motor operates in maintaid fashion). ADD/DELETE A TRANSMITTER/CHANNEL To add a trsmitter/ch, press the programming button on aready recorded o unti the motor jogs. Seect the trsmitter/ch to add d press its programming button unti it jogs, then reease. To deete a trsmitter/ch, press the programming button on aready recorded o unti the motor jogs. Seect the trsmitter/ch to deete d press its programming button unti it jogs, then reease. SETTING THE INTERMEDIATE LIMIT Once the imits are set the motor is in user mode. Operate the motor to the ocation you woud ike as your intermediate position with d aready programmed trsmitter/ch d press the Stop. Reease d press the Stop button again for 5 seconds unti the motor jogs, then reease. Check it (to access the intermediate position press the Stop button whie the motor is at rest). RESETTING THE LIMITS To chge the ower imit: Move the motor to its current ower imit position d et it stop. Press the Up d Down buttons simuteousy unti the motor jogs, then reease. Adjust to a w ower imit position. Press the Stop unti the motor jogs, then reease. Check it. To chge the upper imit: Move the motor to its current upper imit position d et it stop. Press the Up d Down buttons simuteousy unti the motor jogs, then reease. Adjust to a w upper imit position. Press the Stop unti the motor jogs, then reease. Check it.

7 Futureguard FexShade Zip by Draper page 7 continued from previous page PROGRAMMING AND LIMIT SWITCH ADJUSTMENTS RTS ALTUS MOTORS RESETTING THE MOTOR Dua power cut: Disconct AC power for 2 seconds, reconct for 0 seconds, disconct for other 2 seconds d reconct. The motor rotates in o direction d stops on its own. Resetting to factory mode: When the motor stops, press d hod the Programming button (0 sec.) on aready programmed trsmitter/ ch unti it jogs twice, then reease. There is a pause between the jogs. Do not reease the Programming button unti the second jog is compete or you wi have to start from the dua power cut again. Ceing d Maintence Window covering products mufactured by Futureguard, when propery instaed, shoud require no operationa maintence or ubrication, except when instaed in sat air environments. Most of Futureguard's stdard fabrics may be ceed at the window by vacuuming with a soft brush attachment. They may aso be ceed by using a sponge or soft coth d mid soution of warm soapy water. A dishwashing iquid, such as Ivory iquid, is recommended. A ce dry coth is recommended for the meta finish. Sat Water Environment Care Futureguard screens are mufactured from the fist materias avaiabe based on the requirements for performce, strength d ongevity. The frame componts are mufactured with a combination of auminum, staiss stee d corrosion-resistt carbon stee where high strength is required. Screens exposed to sat air MUST be treated with the same care as woud be given to a boat or other meta equipment in order to prevent acceerated sat environment corrosion of the fasters d finish.. The screen frame d fabric shoud be washed monthy with a non-detergent soap soution to ce off sat deposits. A simpe hose end sprayer ike Soap Jet works we. 2. Rinse the frame d fabric with ce water d et the fabric dry in the down position. 3. In the spring d fa, remove the front cover from the head box. Rinse off y deposits with a mid non-detergent soap. Once dry, spray the Motor Mount Bracket, Ider End Assemby d Fabric s with siico spray to provide protection d ubrication. This simpe preventative maintence process wi significty extend the ife of your screen. Sat corrosion is not covered under y mufacturer s warrty.
