4 4.0 Heath and Safety 4.1 Safety is very important therefore site working conditions shoud be fuy observed at a times. 4.2 The use of PPE is essentia to avoid injury. 4.3 Many Partitioning products are suppied in their finished state and, in addition to carefu handing shoud be stored in a cean and dry ocation, protected from accidenta damage and incement weather. 4.4 Pre-finished meta and doors are suppied with suitabe protection. They shoud aways be stored under cover, stacked verticay or horizontay on raised support structures. Care shoud be taken during handing and storing on site to avoid damage and distortion. Lengths of auminium, stee, pastic or timber components shoud be aid fat. 4.5 When storing gass on site particuar attention shoud be paid to the foowing: a) Gass shoud be stored on its edge on raised support structures; whether it is the short or ong edges wi be depend on size, substance and avaiabiity of space, etc. b) The ange of incination or ean of the gass shoud be from three to six degrees from the vertica on static racks with sufficient atera support to prevent bowing. An ange greater than six degrees wi tend to put additiona oad on the back of the sheets and may cause breakage. c) Gass shoud be stored in cean, dry and we-ventiated conditions, out of direct sunight and away from sources of heat. If moisture or condensation is apparent between panes of stacked gass, the panes shoud be separated immediatey and dried thoroughy: otherwise they may stick together or be stained permanenty. d) Gass shoud not be stored in contact with any substance that is harder than itsef, eg concrete, stone or ferrous metas. To minimise further the risk of damage or breakage, a support structures shoud be cad with timber, fet or other reativey soft materias. 4.6 A materias and components shoud be stored in accordance with the recommendations of the manufacturer or suppier. page 3 of 23
