2 This user s guide appies to Industry Standard Singe Line Teephones, such as the Comdia 2500-xx (when used on Comdia Gxxxx common equipment with Ixxxx software cartridge Rev. 15 A and ater and connected through the Anaog Termina Interface-ATI-D). 3 GCA Station User s Guide Introducing The Teephone Your system may be programmed to provide an intercom dia tone when you ift the handset. This arrangement is known as prime intercom. Your teephone may, however, be programmed to provide outside ine dia tone instead. This arrangement is known as prime ine automatic or ide ine preference. The instructions incuded herein are written for teephones with prime intercom, which means that you can dia the system feature codes as soon as you ift the handset. If your teephone is arranged otherwise, you must obtain intercom dia tone before you can dia the various feature codes. To obtain an intercom dia tone, press and reease the hookswitch after you hear the outside ine dia tone. This action either drops the outside ine and causes intercom dia tone to return to your teephone. Pressing and reeasing the hookswitch is commony known as fashing the hookswitch or performing a FLASH. If your teephone is equipped with a TAP button, you can press it to cause the same effect as performing a FLASH. If you ift your handset and do not immediatey hear dia tone, wait on ine a few seconds for the system to return dia tone to your teephone. Answering Cas To answer a ca, ift handset. To answer a ca that you hear ringing at another station, 1. ift handset and isten for intercom dia tone, 2. dia t 4, 3. dia number of ringing station. To answer a ca that is ringing at any station in your pick-up group, 1. ift handset and isten for intercom dia tone, 2. dia # 4. NOTE: When the attendant station has enabed the night transfer (of ringing) feature, an outside ca can be answered from any station in the system. IST Station User s Guide - 3

4 To answer a night-transfer ca 1. hear ringing (oud ringer, night transfer station, etc.), 2. ift handset and isten for intercom dia tone, 3. dia 80, 4. answer ca. Making Intercom Cas With intercom as prime ine: 1. ift handset and isten for intercom dia tone, 2. dia station extension number. With outside ine as prime ine or ide ine preference: 1. ift handset and isten for outside ine dia tone, 2. press and reease hookswitch (fash), or press TAP button, and isten for intercom dia tone, 3. dia station extension number. Making Outside Cas With intercom as prime ine: NOTE: The instaer must configure your teephone system as a hybrid system for this feature to be avaiabe. 1. ift handset and isten for intercom dia tone, 2. dia ine group access code: 9 = group 1 81= group 2 82 = group 3 83 = group 4 3. isten for outside ine dia tone, 4. dia number. Speed Diaing With intercom as prime ine, NOTE: The instaer must configure your station with ide ine preference for this feature to work propery since the ast ine used coud be busy and therefore not be avaiabe for use when needed. 1. ift handset and isten for intercom dia tone, 2. press and reease hookswitch (fash), or press TAP button i avaiabe (dia tone wi stop), 3. dia 0-1 for station speed dia, 4. dia +K I+ 99 for system speed dia, 5. hang up handset to end ca. With outside ine as prime ine or ide ine preference: 1. ift handset and isten for outside ine dia tone, 2. press and reease hookswitch (fash), or press TAP button if avaiabe, 3. isten for intercom dia tone, 4. press and reease hookswitch (fash), or press TAP button if avaiabe (dia tone wi stop), 5. dia 0-1 for station speed dia. 6. dia t 01 - S 99 for system speed dia, 7. hang up handset to end ca. With outside ine as prime ine or ide ine preference: 1. ift handset and isten for outside ine dia tone, 2. press and reease hookswitch (fash), or press TAP button if avaiabe, 3. isten for intercom dia tone, 4. press and reease hookswitch (fash), or press TAP button if avaiabe (dia tone wi stop), 5. dia # for ast number redia. Hoding Cas i To pace an outside ca on hod or to retrieve a hed ca, 1. estabish ca, 2. press and reease hookswitch (fash), or press TAP button if avaiabe. (If IST has HOLD button avaiabe, press it.) 7 GCA Station User s Guide Parking Cas To park an outside ca for retrieva, 1. whie on ine, press and reease hookswitch (fash), or press TAP button, if avaiabe (outside ca is paced on hod and intercom dia tone sounds), 2. dia +%:, 3. dia park orbit access code (91-99), 4. hangup. To retrieve a parked ca, 1. hear announcement of park orbit number, 2. pick up handset and isten for intercom dia tone, 3. dia M-99, 4. answer ca. Using Screened Transfer To transfer an outside ca to a system station, 1. answer outside ca, 2. press and reease hookswitch (fash), or press TAP button if avaiabe (outside ca is paced on hod automaticay), 3. dia extension number of party to be transferred to, 4. when intercom party answers, announce ca, 5. hang up handset. If the caed party is busy or does not answer, press and reease hookswitch (fash), or press TAP button if avaiabe. Outside ca is retrieved. IST Station User s Guide - 7

8 Using Unscreened Transfer To transfer an outside ca to a system station, 1. answer outside ca, 2. press and reease hookswitch (fash), or press TAP button if avaiabe (outside ca is paced on hod automaticay), 3. dia extension number of party to be transferred, 4. isten for ring back, 5. hang up handset. If transferred ca is not answered after a pre- programmed ength of time, it wi ring back at your IST station. To answer reca of transferred ca, Conferencing ift handset when you hear ringing. To conference with an outside ine and a system station, NOTE: When you set up a conference ca with an outside ine and an inside station, ca the outside ine first. 1. make ca on outside ine, 2. press and reease hookswitch (fash), or press TAP button if avaiabe (ca is paced on hod automaticay), 3. isten for intercom dia tone and dia station extension number, 4. when intercom party answers, press and reease hookswitch (fash), or press TAP button if avaiabe. Conference is estabished. NOTE: CoFference voume eve is dependent upon the quaity of the externa ine. To drop out of a conference, hang up. IST Station User s Guide - 8

9 GCA Station User s Guide Using LCD Messaging You can set system-suppied messages at your station to be dispayed at an LCD speakerphone. To turn on a message at your station, 1. ift handset and isten for intercom dia tone, 2. dia % 02, 3. dia message code number (0 through 9 -- see attendant for a ist of avaiabe messages), 4. hang up handset. To cance message, press # 02. Using Station-to-Station Messaging If your station has Busy Lamp Fied (BLF) appearance at another station, a ca-back message indication can be eft at that station. To activate messaging, 1. make intercom ca and hear ringing tone, 2. dia +E 7. BLF ight at caed station futters. To cance messaging, 1. ift handset and isten for intercom dia tone, 2. dia # 7, 3. dia extension number of station at which message ca-back indication was eft, 4. hang up. To enabe the Tracker pager at your station, 1. press INTERCOM, 2. dia X 06. To disabe the Tracker pager at your station, 1. press INTERCOM, 2. dia # 06. IST Station User s Guide - 9

10 Station User s Guide GCA To send a ca back message to someone s Tracker Pager after receiving a ring-no-answer, 1. Make an intercom ca to someone and receive no answer, 2. Press preprogrammed TRACK button (or dia #O), 3. After your station returns to ide* hang up handset or press SPEAKER to end. The Pager-Tracker system wi transmit your station extension number to caed party s Tracker Pager dispay. (Some modes wi aso dispay your station name if the system is programmed to incude station names.) * Zf the Trackerpaging system does not accept your action, an error tone wi sound back at your teephone. To park a ca and have Tracker Pager te someone to retrieve the ca, 1. answer ca and press TRNS/CNF, 2. dia extension and hear ringback 3. press TRACK (or dia # 01), 4. your dispay shows park orbit (91-99) and then returns to ide*, Hang up handset or press SPEAKER to end. The Tracker paging system wi transmit orbit diaing code and caer ID information, if avaiabe, to caed party s Tracker Pager dispay. (Apha/numeric modes dispay #91 through #99 whie numeric-ony modes dispay -91 through -99.) * Zf the Tracker paging system does not accept your action, an error tone wi sound back at your teephone. To respond when your Tracker Pager dispays park orbit diaing code, 1. From any system station, press INTERCOM, 2. Dia dispayed orbit code (# 91-99), 3. Retrieve ca. Sending An Externa Page NOTE: Sending an externa page requires an externa paging unit. To make an externa page, 1. ift handset and isten for intercom dia tone, 2. dia 89, 3. make paging announcement and hang up. IST Station User s Guide - 10

11 Using A-Ca And Zone Paging To make a paging announcement in one or a zones, 1. ift handset and isten for intercom dia tone, 2. dia zone number (84,85,86, or 87 for a-ca), 3. make announcement, 4. hang up handset or wait on ine for an answer (known as a meet-me page). Using Meet-Me Page To answer a page, 1. ift handset and isten for intercom dia tone, 2. dia 88, 3. meet paging party on ine for private conversation. /ST Station User s Guide - 11

12 Station User s Guide GCA Ca Forwarding You can designate any system station to be the recipient of just the intercom cas and prime ine cas that are directed to your station or the recipient of a the cas that are directed to your station. To forward intercom cas and prime ine to another teephone, 1. ift handset and isten for intercom dia tone, 2. dia % 05, 3. dia extension number of teephone to which cas are to be forwarded. To cance intercom ca and prime ine forwarding, 1. ift handset and isten for intercom dia tone, 2. dia #OS. To forward a cas to another teephone, 1. ift handset and isten for intercom dia tone, 2. dia SAC, 3. dia extension number of station to which cas are to be forwarded. To cance a ca forward, 1. ift handset and isten for intercom dia tone, 2. dia # 5. NOTE: For each ca received during ca forward, a ring reminder (short ring burst) sounds at the ZSTto remind the user that cas are being forwarded. IST Station User s Guide - 12

13 GCA7&239 Station User s Guide Using Automatic Ca-back To arrange for the system to ca back when a busy teephone becomes ide, 1. make intercom ca and hear busy signa, 2. dia% 6, 3. hang up. Your station wi ring when caed teephone becomes ide. To answer ca-back ring, ift handset. Caed teephone wi ring. To cance automatic ca back before it rings, Ca Waiting 1. ift handset and isten for intercom dia tone, 2. dia # 6, 3. hang up. You can save ca-waiting tones to a busy station whie your station waits on ine for an answer. To activate ca waiting, 1. make intercom ca and receive busy signa, 2. dia t 0 1 (caed and caing parties hear three short tone bursts), 3. wait on ine for an answer. 14 Station User s Guide GCA To answer a ca waiting tone that sounds at your station, 1. hear three short tone bursts over existing conversation, 2. finish present ca or pace it on hod by pressing and reeasing hookswitch (fash), or by pressingtap button if avaiabe, 3. hang up (waiting ca wi begin ringing), 4. ift handset to answer, 5. hang up when ca is competed. Return to previous ca, if on hod, by pressing and reeasing hookswitch (fash), or pressing TAP button if avaiabe.
