Forward: The finished profie sections have been veneered using natura product that has been obtained from a sustained repacement forestry programme. Athough every care has been taken in the seection and veneering process to ensure continuity, a natura product ike veneer can vary in coour. For the best resuts therefore, we woud recommend that a veneered items be aid out to estabish the best order of coour use and not instaed at random. These veneered products shoud be cut using a fine tooth hand or eectrica crop saw. 1.0 Soid Modue Using cover trims or taped and fied joints: 1.1 Set out the partitioning run on the foor and mirror its ength on the ceiing using a pumb and chak ines. Aternativey, set out the partitioning run on the ceiing and mirror its ength on the foor using the same method. 1.2 Locate a ength of 835 stee track into the inside of the TP500 head channe by driing and using two mm ong sef tapping screws. If more than one ength of head channe is to be used in the partitioning run, position the interna 835 stee track inside the head channe so that it overaps by a minimum of 200mm into the next ength of head channe. 1.3 Aong the ength of the face of the head channe abutment, appy two engths of 342 foam strip, 6mm in from each edge. 1.4 Aong the centre of the head channe, dri the fixing cearance hoes (diameter 3.2mm), at 600mm centres through both the stee channe and veneered profie section. 1.5 If fire performance is required, the intumescent strip 569 shoud now be instaed into the inside recess of the veneered head section, on what wi be the escape route, non-fire side, of the partitioning. 1.6 If required acoustic seaant 924 man now be appied to the abutment face of the head channe between the foam strips. 1.7 Fix the TP500 head channe assemby using suitabe screws and pastic pugs, through the pre-dried piot hoes (see stage 1.4), at a maximum of 600mm centres to the ceiing. 1.8 Using the setting out points (see stage 1.1), the base of the partition shoud now be instaed. 1.9 There are three types of possibe base assemby, and subject to the requirement, the foowing steps shoud be taken For gazed orsoid runs, seect the TP503 gazing base section and first piot hoe dri the fixing cearance hoes (diameter 3.2mm) at 600mm centres. Then using a 10mm diameter dri, counterbore from the top to a maximum of 50% of the section's depth and fix to the foor by using suitabe screws and pastic pugs (if required) Once secured, position the interna 835 stee track section into the base's rebated pocket so that it overaps into the next ength by a minimum of 200mm. Using 302 sef tapping screws, fix at a maximum of 600mm centres For a wire way base instaation, seect the TP504 base section. At an ange and as far in as possibe, piot hoe dri the fixing cearance hoes (diameter 3.2mm) at 600mm centres on aternative sides of the wire way pockets. Fix to the foor by using suitabe screws and pastic pugs (if required). page 2 of 10

1.9.4 Once secured, position the interna 835 stee track section into the base's rebated pocket so that it overaps into the next ength by a minimum of 200mm. Using 302 sef tapping screws, fix at a maximum of 600mm centres For soid runs ony fix the 835 stee track to the foor by using suitabe screws and pastic pugs (if required), at a maximum of 600mm centres The height of each 853 vertica stee stud is subject to the assemby method seected. Measure the distance at each proposed stud position and deduct 18mm from the distance: Either between the top of the TP503 or TP504 gazing base section and the inside of the TP500 head channe section or Between the foor and the inside of the TP500 head channe section Using the dimension obtained (stage 1.10) measure and cut the 853 studs to ength ensuring that a the studs are cut to size at the same end Insert the cut studs between the stee head channe and stee foor track at 600mm centres and twist them into pace making sure that a the studs have the cut end to the bottom and are facing in the same direction (except for the door frame studs which are detaied in stage 4). Pumb in both vertica panes and adjust the setting out if necessary. Now that the frame work has been competed other services may be instaed If required it is now possibe to fix the vertica stee studs into pace by using 298 pop rivets into the foor track. Using tinsnips, nick and deform the fanges of the stee head track inwards to hod the stud into pace To improve the acoustic performance fit either the mm thick fibre gass quit or the mm thick Rockwoo R2/33 sab into the cavity. Pease note: If gravity hung panes are being instaed, the 40mm thick Rockwoo must be used to achieve both fire and sound performance. The recommended thickness of either insuation types must not be increased or decreased The 880-fibre gass quit is hed in pace by cutting three tabs, each 25mm wide, into the stee head track. Press them back to retain the insuation or by use of a Corman insuhod strip Rockwoo sabs may just be stacked carefuy into pace. Care shoud be taken to ensure that a the acoustic materias are tucked into the open faces of the vertica studs to ensure a cavities are competey fied To estabish the height of the pasterboard, measure the foor and ceiing height of the first and third studs and deduct: 115mm if the board is to sit on a base section instaed as at stage to or 28mm if the board is to be to the foor as at stage When using pre-decorated panes, ook at the pattern and estabish the top and bottom of the panes from the viny manufacturer's hanging instructions. Using the dimensions obtained in stage 1.16 cut away the waste materia with the pre-decorated face of the panes being cut first. Ensure a cean cut is produced removing a the oose partices of the pane or wa covering If instaing unfinished square or taper edge pasterboard, cut away the waste materia with the white face of the panes being cut first Waboard adhesive 846 shoud now be iberay appied to the centre stud face of the modue The pre-decorated or unfinished square/taper edge pane can now be fixed into position. page 3 of 10

1.21 Offer the prepared pane into the head channe cavity then, by ifting upwards, swing the bottom of the pane against the stee framework Check that the first pane positioned in each run is centra and pumb to the outer studs, then press the centre of the board firmy onto the adhesive appied to the centra stud (stage 1.19). By using the 319 drywa screws, fix the ong edges of the pane to the outer studs, positioning the screws approximatey 6mm in from each edge and at a maximum of 300mm centres If square edge, unfinished panes are being used, they shoud now be decorated with the seected 1370mm wide paper or fabric backed viny. Trim aong the pane's butt joint (making sure manufacturer's hanging instructions are foowed and a excess adhesive is wiped away) If taper edge, unfinished panes are being used, they shoud now be taped and wet paster fied across the butt joint taper section of the pasterboards. Aow to dry out before decorating with the seected 1370mm wide paper or fabric backed viny. Trim centray aong the pane's masked joint (making sure manufacturer's hanging instructions are foowed and a excess adhesive is wiped away) Ony after the seected skirting has been fitted (see appropriate section) shoud the TP523 cover trims finay be instaed Before fitting the TP523 vertica cover trim over the butt joint of the pre-decorated or decorated square edge panes, measure the distance between the head channe and the skirting, add 25mm to its ength and cut to size Carefuy offer the preiminary ength of cover trim into position against the pane with the top touching the underside of the head channe. Now mark ighty in penci where the trim intersects the top of skirting 1.28 From the measurement obtained cut the trim to the fina ength and piot hoe dri the fixing cearance hoes (diameter 3.2mm) at 600mm centres. Then insta it by using 319 drywa screws The PVC cooured or matching veneered infi TPP can now be cut to ength and instaed into the cover trim. Using a rubber hammer or timber bock and hammer, ighty tap it into pace to mask the cover trim fixing screws. Finay wipe away any working marks. 2.0 Soid Modue Using hung pane with penci ine or butt pane 'V' joints: 2.1 Foow stages 1.1 to or Between the foor and the inside of the TP500 head channe section. 2.2 The height of each M01 vertica stee stud is subject to the assemby method seected. Measure the distance at each proposed stud position and deduct 18mm from the distance: Either between the top of the TP503 or TP504 gazing base section and the inside of the TP500 head channe section Or between the foor and the inside of the TP500 head channe section. 2.3 Using the dimension obtained at stage 2.2, measure and cut the MO1 studs to ength. Cut the studs at the top ony. 2.4 Insert the cut studs between the stee head and foor channes at 600mm centres. Twist into pace making sure that a the studs are the correct way up and facing the same direction (except for doorframes, detaied within stage 4). page 4 of 10

2.5 Subject to the partitioning height, seect positions in the studs for the transom channes. Note: Hung panes up to 2837mm high require 4 twist ock transoms. Greater heights wi require 5 transoms. 2.6 Take the first 1800mm transom channe (MO2) and cut off a 600mm ength. 2.7 Take the 600mm ength and then side and twist ock it into position on the first eected transom ine. The egs shoud be pointing upwards between stud centres. 2.8 Take the remaining 1200mm ength (from stage 2.6) and position it into the third eected transom ine. 2.9 Now side and twist ock into pace two 1800mm ong transoms into the second and fourth eected transom ines. Now compete first and third ines, ensuring that a transom joints are staggered Fit the stud jacks (MO4) into foor/base stee track at each stud position. If the foor is not eve take the average of the dips and rises and this shoud be the starting position. Side the jack under the stud and eevate it by 12mm (4th notch up on the jack) At the first transom eve from the foor (approx 395mm up), jack a the remaining studs so that the transoms are eve throughout the partitioning run. (It is recommended that either a spirit or water eve is used at this stage.) 2.12 To set the bottom stop position of the jig (M99), measure from the foor up to the top of the first transom channe (approx. 410mm). Deduct 50mm from the dimension obtained and mark this distance downwards from the corresponding pocket in the jig. This provides the setting position of the auminium stop ange (see instruction eafet suppied with the jig) Identify the pockets in the tempate that correspond to the transom positions seected (stage 2.5). Ceary mark them on both sides of the tempate To cut either beveed or negative rake pre-decorated pasterboards to size, measure the foor and ceiing height of the first and third studs and deduct: 115mm if the board is to sit on a base section instaed as stage to or 28mm if the board is to be to the foor as stage Check the decoration pattern to determine the pane's top or bottom. Using the dimension obtained at stage 2.14, measure and cut the pre-decorated pasterboards to ength, ensuring a cean cut without oose bits of viny or backing papers Prepare a base for the appication of the hanging cips (MO5). This base must be a soid, fat and rigid surface free from dirt and irreguarities. It shoud support the whoe of the pasterboard yet not impede the ange stops fitted on the tempate (M99). It must be soid enough not to compress, at the point of impact, on appication of the hanging cips Lay the cut pre-decorated pane with the decoration face down on to the prepared base. Then ay the tempate (M99) onto the pane ensuring the pockets in the tempate face inwards. The ong edge of the tempate shoud be ined with the edge of the pasterboard and the ange stops (positioned at stage 2.12) shoud be butted to the bottom of the board Pace the cips (M05), with anged tab pointing towards the bottom of the pane, into the aready identified tempate pockets (stage 2.13) Take the bridge bock (M98) and pace over the first cip in the tempate. Hod it in position then strike the bock with a singe bow, using a 21/2 b (1 kg) masons cub hammer, so that the pins of the cip penetrate into the pasterboard. Note: Pease be carefu not to continuousy tap the cip into pace or overstrike the cip back pate into the board. Do not hit the cips without using the bridge bock. page 5 of 10

2.20 Move forward to the next cip position in the tempate (stage 2.13) and repeat stage Having inserted a the cips on one side of the pane turn the tempate over (180 ) and reposition it on the opposite edge of the pasterboard and repeat stages 2.18 to The pre-decorated pane may now be hung into position. (To enabe your cient to occupy his/her office quicky, we woud recommend that the inside panes are hung first) Offer the prepared hanging pane into head channe cavity and swing the bottom of the pane into and against the stee framework and either: If the pane is to the foor, wedge the toe ift shoe (M97) between the bottom of the pane and the ground approximatey centra to the modue. Stand on the toe shoe and ift the pane up into head channe. Push the pane hard against the framework and reease the toe shoe pressure aowing the pane to drop into position or If pane is to sit on the base section, insert two bosters (one each end) and ift the pane up into head channe. Push the pane hard against the framework. Remove the bosters to aow the pane to drop into position If a penci ine joint is specified, the M13 trim shoud now be inserted verticay, with one eg behind the edge of the hung pane The second and subsequent boards may now be added. To give a pumb parae joint ensure that they are positioned tighty against mating panes or the M13 joint trim. Note: Now that the interna office face has been competed other services may be instaed. These must pass through the system before fitting the Rockwoo sabs Rockwoo R2/33 sab (887) is suppied as 1200mm x 600mm x 40mm thick and shoud be cut to size so that the 40mm edge sits into the transom channe and butts against the next one. The side which is 600mm wide shoud tuck into the first stud and butt onto the second stud. The system wi not achieve either the fire or sound ratings stated in the iterature without the Rockwoo R2/33 x 40mm thick (887) being inserted. Pease do not increase the sab thickness Fit the remainder of the panes by repeating stages 2.14 to Gazed Buid 3.1 The head track (TP500) shoud have foam rubber (342) aong the top edges set back 2mm from the outside edge. The head shoud be secured at 600mm centres using suitabe screws. 3.2 Pumb down and fix the base (TP503) at 600mm centres. 3.3 Soid wa abutment. When starting from a wa abutment with a soid pane, the buid detai is to use a stud against the wa and to mask the edges of the pasterboard with cover trims (TP527). 3.4 Gazed wa abutment. When starting from a wa abutment with a gazed eevation a timber spacer, recommended 19mm x 78mm, is fixed to the wa. It may have to be shaped to suit the wa being out of pumb. Once the timber is fitted and made pumb a haf post arge can be fixed to it by screwing through the gazing pockets. It shoud be noted that the face of the haf post shoud not protrude from the face of the wa by more than 45mm. 3.5 Once the wa abutment has been fixed the gass is hed in pace by the abutment trim (TP527). page 6 of 10

3.6 Gazed to soid eevation In order to change from a fuy soid to a fuy gazed eevation, the method is to fix a stud to a haf post arge, the stud is screw fixed into the back of the haf post arge. The pasterboard runs to the back face of the haf post arge and is screwed to the stud. When the gass has been fitted the joint from gazed to soid is covered with a 12mm cover trim (TP523). This cover trim runs from the underside of the head track and sits on top of the skirting. Any cover trim which covers the gazing has foam rubber (175) down its ong edge set back 1mm or 2mm from the edge. 3.7 Fuy gazed eevations For fuy gazed eevations, fit the head and base sections as noted in sections 1 and 2. The gazing components can then be fitted. At the head, code TP515 (D/G) is screw fixed into the head channe. It is suppied in 3 metre engths and shoud be cut to suit a given modue. At the base, code TP517 (D/G) is dropped onto the TP503. It is not fixed but has a protrusion underneath which fits into a revea on the top of the TP503. The modue is determined in the same way as with the TP515. When the head and base gazings have been fitted, a muion TP518 can be cut to ength foor to ceiing height minus 107mm. The muions can be fixed at top and bottom by screwing through at an ange with the screw heads being masked by the head and base gazings. Screws shoud be countersunk. Skirting can be fitted as the buid proceeds as gass can be fitted after the skirting is instaed. The sequence is then head and base gazing, muion, head and base gazing, muion etc. The skirting ocks the base gazing section in pace ateray. Gass can be offered into the head track and ifted over the skirting. It is finay secured by the code TP523 cover trims which woud have code 175 foam down both ong edges. The cover trim runs from the underside of the head track to the top of the skirting. 4.0 Door Frame Modue 4.1 Door frame fu height soid and gazed Door frames can be pre-assembed or in kit form. Fu height door frames fit inside the head track and are screw fixed to the track at the foor. In a soid eevation stee stud code 853 woud be fixed at the base, boxed with track 835, and timber fied code 331. The pasterboards butt up to the back of the frame. The joint between the pasterboard and frame is covered with the 15mm thick cover trim code 524 which runs from underside of the head track to foor. In gazed form the reevant haf post sma shoud be gued and screwed to the frame. The gazing is then hed in pace by the cover trim code TP524 with foam code 175 down the ong edge which abuts the gass. 4.2 Standard height doorframes soid and gazed With standard height door frames in soid format, there woud be a stud and track, boxed and timber fied each side of and fixed to the frame together with a stud transom horizontay and eve above the door frame bracketed to the uprights. The pasterboards are then fixed to the studs and the joints, verticay, are covered with cover trim 15mm thick code TP524 from the underside of head to foor. Horizontay, the 12mm cover trim code TP523 is used. In gazed format the haf post sma shoud be cut to run from the top of the gazing base code 503 to the page 7 of 10

inside of the head track and it shoud be gued and screwed to the doorframe. At the head, once again, a haf post sma shoud be gued and screwed to the door head. It shoud be cut to fit in between the haf post arge which shoud be bonded and screw fixed to the haf post sma to form a muion above door head height. 15mm cover trims code TP524 run verticay from underside of head track to the foor. 12mm cover trims code TP523 runs horizontay between the 15mm cover trims and has foam code 175 on the edge which abuts the gass. 4.3 Fu height door frames When fitting fu height door frames, with fu height soid core doors next to fuy gazed windows, both the door frame's vertica egs and the haf post sma woud be mied to accept the TPSB (stee box stud). The door frame then has the S suffix, and the haf post sma code TP540S shoud be ordered º Corner detai using TP The externa rounded corner detai TP533A runs from foor to the underside of ceiing. In order to achieve this both head and base sections TP500 and TP503 respectivey have to be notched in a specific manner. The head section TP500 shoud be mitred at 45( one mitre of each hand. These together form a 90( corner in order for the externa 533A to run to the ceiing, the head shoud be notched as foows. 5.2 Measure from the outside mitre of the head section aong the cut edge and the outside edge of the head track 74mm and with a square mark a ine at 90, these ines wi intersect cut with a saw from each edge to the intersection, and remove the cut section the resuting space wi accept the TP533A. At the base the requirement is that the TP533A can run past the base detai to the foor. The skirting covers the base so it does not require an accurate cut out. 5.3 The TP533B runs from inside the head and finishes on top of the base detai TP503, it shoud be fixed to the head and the base by means of brackets. 5.4 In order to fix the TP533A to the TP533B, brackets shoud be screw fixed through the widest eg into the back of the 533B. When offered up to the 533A, the narrow eg of the bracket wi ay fat against the inner fixing face of the The brackets are then covered by the TP527 abutment trim 15mm which runs from the underside of the head track to the foor. 5.6 If there is a soid eevation each side of a corner then a stud is fixed to the TP533B, if gazed, then the haf post code TP540A is fixed to the TP533B. The gass is then hed in pace by TP527 on the exterior face and by TP529 on the interior face º Corner detai using TP The externa 135( curved corner section code TP560A runs from the ceiing to the foor. The TP560D runs from the inside of the head track to the top of the gazing base detai TP503 and the TP560C runs from underside of head to foor. 6.2 The head must be mitred at 22.5 deg. Then measuring from the point set a dimension of 21mm. Mark in at 90 deg and cut in 35mm, cutting from the other edge at 90 deg remove the section. 6.3 This is carried out on two engths of head section eft and right hand. The resuting cut out wi accept the TP560A when the two outside egs are removed to a distance of 55mm from the top. page 8 of 10

6.4 At the base, mitre at 22.5 then cut sufficient off the outside to aow the TP560A to run past the base detai to the foor. 7.0 Three Way Junction 7.1 The three way post for a gazed run is code TP537. It runs from inside the head track code TP500 to the top of the base section TP In order to gaze on three faces a TP540A haf post arge shoud be fixed on three faces excuding the poished veneered face. 7.3 If gazing in two directions and at right anges to the front soid run, then a haf post arge shoud be fixed over the protrusions on the post, and a stud code 853 shoud be fixed to fat veneered face which is not poished. 7.4 On the front face, the gass is retained with cover trims TP On the back face, the gass is retained with a TP529 each side. 8.0 Other Instaation Instructions The foowing additiona instaation instructions are avaiabe on KLA/IDENT.1 KLA Eec.1 KLA Bind Inst.1 - Component Identification - Eectrica Switch Instaation. - Venetian Bind Fitting page 9 of 10
