2 3 Thank you for choosing Una To ensure the installation process is simple and efficient we recommended you read this guide in full before you begin. Getting started Before installation, please ensure the system specifications correspond with your project schedule. Tools required Preparing for installation Your delivery will include one or both of the boxes shown depending on your order. Ensure you have everything you need prior to installation. Sizes should be checked on the frame box. 7 Una installation instructions Hang door leaf The door can now be hung. If the door is fire rated then the intumescent strips provided will need to be fitted to the groove in the door edge. See hinge installation instructions for detailed door leaf instructions. Congratulations You ve now completed the installation of your Una concealed frame riser doorset. Please refer to the following pages to complete your installation. 16 Fitting the latch Fit the latch or lock to the door. Fitting of the strike / latch plate is straight forward as it is surface mounted over the frame via 2 PH2 self-drilling screws. 9 Una Butt hinge installation 17 Butt hinge Installation instructions 3 Mark frame Once the hinges are fitted to the door, stand the door up and take to the door opening. Accurately mark the position of the top hinge on the frame, making an allowance for a 3mm gap at the top of the door. 1 Identify, measure and mark The Selo butt hinges have been specifically designed for the Una doorset. They are designed to be surface mounted to the frame and door. Start off by marking your hinge centres on the door leaf. 4 Test fit Open out the hinges and offer the door up to the opening so the hinges butt up hard against the door stop. This will give you the correct position. Fix two of the self-drilling screws provided into the top hinge and then one in the lower hinge to ensure alignment. Test the door to ensure it swings correctly. 2 Fix hinges Push the barrel of the hinge up to the edge of the door. This should create an overhang on the opposite edge of 1mm. Pilot drill the holes and fix into place using the screws provided. 5 Final fix Fix the rest of the hinges. All fixings are provided. When using the FD60 54mm door hinges, the hinge positions will be governed by the reinforcing plates spot welded to the back of the frame. When fitting 54mm hinges, it will be necessary to pilot the holes first with a 3mm drill bit.

10 Una ROC-York hinge installation 19 ROC-York hinge Installation instructions 2 Cut The recommended tool for cutting the notch is the multi purpose saw. Further details are at the back of the booklet. 1 Notch hinge stud The hinge stud needs to be notched to accommodate each bracket and hinge. 3 Identify frame Una frames come pre-morticed for ROC-York hinges. There is a bracket installed on the door frame with pre-threaded holes for simple and secure installation. RY-45 RY-80 Notch preparation 1.1 Offer the hinge jamb up to the stud and mark a line at the top of the hinge in all the hinge brackets. 1.2 Using template, line the slot in the template up with the lines you have made on the stud and draw around the template. 4 Fit hinges Fit the hinges to the door leaf using the screws provided as shown. 1.1 Offer 1.2 Mark

12 Una installation instructions 23 Fire rating The Una system is available with an FD30 certification when installed using intumescent seals. Congratulations You ve now completed the installation of your Una concealed frame riser doorset. Intumescent seals To achieve the relevant specified fire rating intumescent seals will be provided. 13 Una installation instructions Notes Una FD30 installation Important Correct storage of timber doors Laid flat with load spread evenly Avoid excessive temperatures Do not leave leant against wall Avoid excessive moisture and damp environments It is important that timber doors are stored in the correct manner prior to installation. Let solid wood doors acclimatise at normal room temperature for several days prior to installation. They must be protected from exposure to excessive moisture and stored horizontally on a level surface on 3 or more equally spaced bearers, away from ground floor level. It is also recommended that any wrappings be left in place for as long as possible. Fire door leafs and doorsets are internal joinery components. As such, their handling and storage prior to installation should ensure that they are protected from rain, sun, and splashing by corrosive or staining materials - preferably in a ventilated building. Door leafs and doorsets that are clear lacquered or varnished should be subject to storage that protects them from being unevenly exposed to sunlight.
