Clear, quality images engage ur custmers and drive cnfidence levels when shpping n khls.cm. Since the custmer will be unable t see, tuch, hld r smell the prduct prir t purchase, we need t find a way t help shwcase the details and benefits f each and every nline prduct thrugh imagery. Great prduct phtgraphy fcuses n the prduct, nt the backgrund, nr the prps. We understand that prfessinal prduct phtgraphy can be a large investment and undertaking; hwever, we nly have a few secnds t make a gd first impressin. Submitting high-quality images t Khl s ensures the quickest prduct launch fr yur cmpany and will save in the number f samples required. Imagery standards d vary acrss the industry. Actual prduct phtgraphy is required - renderings, clr-filled r manipulated imagery will be rejected and delay the prduct/assrtment frm ging live n khls.cm. 2 Image Styling Specificatins: At Khl s we understand that image reslutin, size and file frmats can be verwhelming. Befre yu submit prduct phtgraphs t Khl s, please request nline Style Guide access frm yur Digital Item Prductin Assistant Manager. This guide defines ur styling standards fr prducts sld n khls.cm and cntains useful infrmatin regarding: Lighting diagrams Styling and phtgraphy directin Alternate images Vide directins Prduct Phtgraphy Requirements: Images must be prfessinally lit, styled and sht. Minimum camera requirements: Cann EOS 5D Mark III r better Nikn D800 r better Leaf, Phase One r Sinar Digital at 18 MP r better File Specificatins: Phtgraphy nly. Illustratins r renderings nt acceptable. File Dimensins: Minimum f 1500 x 1500 pixels (2100 x 2100 pixels preferred), (7 x 300 PPI) with prduct filling 85% f frame. N mre than a 200 pixel brder arund the prduct (@ ¾ f an inch frm the edge f the prduct t edge f the canvas). File Clr Space: srgb r Adbe RGB Acceptable File Frmats: JPEG, TIFF (N GIFs. Will be rejected) Prduct Selectin: Accurate path/channel selectin f prduct must be included with every file. Accuracy: Image must accurately represent the prduct. Quality: Prduct must be clear and in fcus at 100% magnificatin. Styling: All prduct imagery is t be captured accrding t the Khl s-apprved lighting, set and styling guides, and must include apprpriate additinal views (ALTs). N added graphics. This includes emblems, awards r badges, actin graphics, etc. On-mdel images cannt be submitted withut first being apprved by the Assistant Manager. Similar items that are sld in mre than ne letter/number ptin require ne image per ptin (i.e. Initial pendant ffered in letters A-Z will need an image fr each letter). Identical items that will be available in different sizes require nly ne image (i.e. a ring that will be ffered in sizes 6-9 nly needs ne image submitted). Phtgraphy submitted may nt cntain text, lg, verlays, rulers, cpyright inf r digital watermarks. Items phtgraphed laydwn must have white backgrunds (RBG 255) The image file name must cntain the vendr s style number. Technical Requirements: Vide files must be in an uncmpressed frmat Our requested frmat is: Preferred file frmat: 1280 x 720size (16:9 aspect rati) Als acceptable: MOV vide file nt exceeding 100MB Vendr Hsting Specs: We will nt accept vide cntent hsted by free third party prviders (ex: YuTube). Khl s submissin frms shuld be filled ut per Khl s department number and MUST include Web ID. Vides and frms sent electrnically must be sent same day. If images are phtgraphed accrding t ur specificatins submitting prduct phtgraphy may save weeks f prcessing time expediting yur prducts t the live site. What size shuld ur prduct images be? Generally speaking, the larger the image the better it is t wrk with. Our minimum prduct image size is 1500 pixels by 1500 pixels(2100 by 2100 pixels preferred) at a reslutin f 300 pixels per inch. Please d nt upsize images (making a small image bigger) as this ruins the integrity f the image causing it t be blurry and pixelated. Hw can I submit images? Images can be upladed directly t K-Link. Please reference the E-Cm Image Uplad Prcess fr step by step instructins. Hw shuld we name ur image files? The image file name shuld fllw this cnventin: Vendr Style Number (vendr supplied). What clr space shuld we use? Each image shuld be in the srgb clr space.
