Artists are respnsible fr bringing their wn tents, tent weights, tables, chairs and displays. This is a rain r shine utdr event. In extreme weather cnditins, i.e. hurricane, the festival culd be called early. Hwever, ccasinal pp-up rain shwers are nt uncmmn in September. Yu may wish t invest in tent sides if yur prducts will be seriusly damaged by rain. NO EARLY DISMANTLING OR DEPARTURES. DISPLAYS MUST REMAIN INTACT UNTIL 5 PM. Failure t abide by this plicy will result in future ineligibility fr the festival.

4 2017 Craft Fair Rules and Plicy 1. Exhibitr agrees t indemnify, defend, prtect and hld harmless the spnsrs, rganizatin and all its assciates, the prprietrs f the lcatin and all its assciates, the municipality where the event is held at and all its assciates fr any persnal injury t himself\herself and his\her assciates fr any prperty lss r damages f any nature suffered by any persn as a result f the peratin f the abve mentined r the exhibitrs and especially t the attendees while within the exhibitr s exhibit space r caused by the exhibitr. 2. Exhibitr agrees shuld an accident ccur within the exhibitrs space caused by the exhibitr s display r debris left by the exhibitr, the exhibitr will be held liable in case f an accident. By applying t any events listed, the exhibitr agrees t save and hld harmless Canterbury Shaker Village, its management, agents, emplyees, the municipality where the event is held, and spnsrs frm any liability resulting frm such accidents. 3. Exhibitr agrees t prvide wn tents, tent weights, tables, chairs, racks and display materials. Exhibitr agrees t remve all bxes, paper and trash belnging t them upn vacating their space and t keep his\her space neat in appearance and in gd rder while selling. 4. Exhibitr s exhibit r prduct may nt extend beynd the limits f Exhibitr s space. 5. Exhibitr is required t have bth signage displaying the exhibitr name, as well as an Artist s Statement in the bth. An Artist s Statement is a brief verbal representatin in supprt f the artist s wrk t give the viewer understanding. 6. Exhibitr agrees t remain pen and cmpletely assembled until clsing time f event. 7. Agrees t read and be respnsible t cmply with all the rules and regulatins in this cntract. 8. Exhibitr may nt sublet r apprtin space t anyne else. 9. Exhibitrs must cmply with all applicable state and lcal laws regarding the sale f their wrk and with lcal fire cdes with regard t flammability f bth and materials. N ignited flames allwed in display. Smking is nt allwed. 10. Pets are prhibited except fr assistant dgs. 11. Electric is nt supplied. 12. Exhibitr must cmply with the jury requirements that pertain t this event. 12. All wrk must be riginal and entirely hand-made by the vendr. 13. There will be a $30 fee fr returned checks.

5 Applying All new artists must submit fr the jury at least 4 images, either as digital images, CD r DVD, r hard cpies by pst. All new artists must submit ne image fr his/her bth. Incmplete applicatins will nt be juried. Artists are selected n the basis f Technical Skill, Originality & Creativity, Design and Cmpsitin, and Marketability. Applicants will be ntified by mail, pstmarked as fllws: Mnday, May 15 th, 2017 deadline (ntificatin date: Mnday, May 22 nd, 2017) Mnday, July 31 st, 2017 deadline (ntificatin date: Mnday, August 7 th, 2017) Yu will receive an cnfirmatin f yur acceptance int the event. Unacceptable items include: items in vilatin with the Endangered Species Act, items prduced frm cmmercial kits, and wrk f which the balance is cmprised f purchased parts. Apprximately 2 weeks prir t the event, yu will receive a mailing including event and site infrmatin. Infrmatin n ur site and n area ldging can als be fund n ur website Yu will receive yur exact event placement upn arrival at the event. Exhibiting Exhibitrs must display wrk cnsistent with the type and quality represented in the submissin. Canterbury Shaker Village reserves the right t require remval f bjects which are incnsistent with the applicatin submissin. The Canterbury Artisan Festival takes place with the Village s grunds; nt all spaces are perfectly level nr can they all be directly reached by vehicle. It is recmmended that exhibitrs bring apprpriate shims t make displays level and bring a hand truck r cart t make mbility easier. Cancellatin After being accepted as an exhibitr and paying yur bth fee, yu are cnsidered t have made a cmmitment t exhibit. Yur fee will nt be refunded if yu cancel. Accepted artists wh cancel will be ineligible fr exhibiting the fllwing year. Exceptins t ineligibility may be cnsidered if yu have cancelled fr reasn f illness r emergency, in which case yu may appeal t the jury t maintain yur status as an eligible exhibitr applicant, by putting yur request in writing. All fees fr shw applicatins and bths are nn-refundable. Cancellatin by the exhibitr will result in frfeiture f all fees paid up t the date f cancellatin. Canterbury Artisan Festival is a rain r shine event. Bth Oversight Artists must versee their exhibit at all times and must display their wrk fr the duratin f the shw. There is n early dismantling f displays r early departures permitted. Bth displays must remain intact until the shw ends at 5 pm. Each exhibitr will be given 2 passes t the event, ne fr the exhibitr and ne t enable him/her t prvide fr bth assistance. If artists wish t have additinal peple (family, friends) with them, these extra peple must purchase event tickets. Each exhibitr is respnsible fr supplying, setting up and taking dwn their wn display. Each exhibitr is respnsible fr the security f his/her bth. All bths and set up must be dismantled after the festival. The vendr space must be left clean.
