1 SEARCHING PROVINCIAL NETLAW Prvincial NetLaw ffers access t all Acts, Ordinances and Regulatins currently in frce and applicable t all 9 prvinces frm 1910 t date. Each amendment t an Act, Ordinance r Regulatin is shwn as a different versin as they were applicable at a specific pint in time thrughut the years. LANDING PAGE - SEARCH PAGE When selecting Prvincial Legislatin (Prvincial NetLaw) either frm the diagram n the landing page r frm the search menu n the tp left hand side f yur screen yu will be taken t the Search page f Prvincial NetLaw. The Search page allws yu t search ver the fllwing: - Act/Ordinance/Regulatin Title - Act r Ordinance number - Act r Ordinance year - Versin date - Prvince - Keywrd Search SEARCH RESULTS: The fllwing is an example f a screen that displays results frm yur search fr the Ordinance in the Act/Ordinance/Regulatin Title search field: 1

2 - When searching fr a specific Act, Ordinance r Regulatin, and yu select a prvince n the search screen, yu will get results fr the current prvince and the ld prvince, yu can then facet n the right hand side t limit per prvince, dcument type r year. - The latest versin f the Act, Ordinance r Regulatin will be the first result as the dcuments are srted by Dcument Date Descending - Facets n the right hand side can be used t further limit yur results. Results can als be srted by Dcument Title r by the Judgment Date. - The Acts, Ordinances and Regulatins have an Applicable frm and Applicable t date which must be used t find the piece f Legislatin which was relevant fr the perid yu are lking fr. - The applicable frm and applicable t date is used t srt the results accrding t dcuments date descending n the results page. - The cmmencement date f the principal Act, Ordinance r Regulatin is used t srt the results under the year facet n the right hand side. VIEW DOCUMENT PAGE OF OLD PROVINCES By clicking n an Act/Ordinance title (highlighted in red) yu will g thrugh t the View Dcument page. The fllwing is an example f this page: - When viewing an Ordinance prir t 1994 the versin numbers will nly indicate the amunt f versins in the ld prvince and will nt include the versins f the Ordinance after the rdinance was assigned. - The Versin Number will indicate n which versin f the Ordinance yu are currently. - When yu are n an Ordinance yu will see a link t the prvince t which the Ordinance was assigned r multiple prvinces t which it was assigned if applicable. - By clicking n the Assigned t link it will take yu t the mst current versin f the Ordinance. 2

3 - The Applicable dates will give yu the dates fr which this specific versin is applicable. - The Dcument Type will tell yu whether it is an Act, Ordinance r Regulatin. - The ther infrmatin in blue is clickable and will direct yu t the Prvincial r Gvernment Gazette in which the riginal Act, Ordinance r Regulatin was published r in which the amendment was published depending n which versin yu are lking at. Please nte yu will nly be able t access this infrmatin if yu subscribe t thse prducts. - The Amendment Date is the date n which the amendment Act r ntice was published in the Gazette. - Related Dcuments, n the right hand side f the view page, will give yu a list f dcuments which cntain similar infrmatin t the Act r Ordinance yu are viewing. - The fllwing infrmatin can be fund n the right hand side f the view page: Current Act r Ordinance If yu are nt lking at the latest versin f the Actr Ordinance this will take yu t the latest versin f the Act r Ordinance. If the Principal Act r Ordinance has been assigned t mre than ne prvince, all links t the varius prvinces will display hwever yu will nly have access t thse t which yu subscribe. 3

When clicking n the list the Act r Ordinance which yu are currently viewing will be highlighted in red, yu can click n the Act r Ordinance which yu want t view frm this list. 6 Acts Ordinances Latest - If yu chse Acts it will give yu an Alphabetical list f all Acts fr that Prvince. - If yu chse Ordinance it will give yu an Alphabetical list f all Ordinances fr that Prvince. - If yu chse Latest it will give yu a list f all the latest Acts and Ordinances laded fr that prvince. - On the right hand side f the Alphabetical List and each t next Act r Ordinance there are tw icns, the first ne will shw yu a list f all versins f the Act r Ordinance. 6
