We believe the library is an essential educatinal and cultural asset t the City f Tyler and thank yu fr yur supprt f arts fr all citizens. Art Arund Every Crner (AAEC) seeks t make artists and their wrks accessible t the general cmmunity by bringing them int every crner f the Tyler Public Library the three flrs f the main library, the library lbby and Taylr Auditrium. By participating in AAEC, yu will meet fellw artists, expand yur cntacts in the cmmunity and bring art int every crner f a majr public space. By bringing artists tgether in an infrmal setting with the general public, AAEC seeks t enhance the rle f art in the cmmunity and t educate the public abut the value f visual and perfrming arts t their lives. Nt nly will art enthusiasts frm the greater East Texas Area attend the tw-day event and see yur wrk, but library patrns, wh might never see yur wrk therwise, will discver yu and the ther artists wh fill the building. Yu will exhibit yur wrks, but, mre imprtantly, yu will be required t be present thrughut the event t demnstrate aspects f yur wrk and t interact and visit with the public. This is yur pprtunity t put tgether a ministudi/gallery f yur wrk. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? The event is pen t artists ages 18 and up. The scpe f the event will be riginal wrks f tw r three dimensinal art, phtgraphy, perfrmance and multi-media art. Only artists displaying r perfrming their wn riginal wrks are eligible t participate. All artists must be willing t demnstrate and talk abut their wrk with visitrs and be n-site thrughut the tw-day event. All artists must apply thrugh the Tyler Public Library. AAEC Cmmittee-apprved artists will be assigned by event staff t installatin lcatins n all three flrs f the main library, as well as in the lbby and Taylr Auditrium. There is n fee assciated with Art Arund Every Crner

2 HOW TO APPLY Cmplete the Artist Infrmatin and Entry Descriptin Frm and the Applicatin and Waiver f Liability. Return the frms with digital images f yur wrk (see belw fr details) by , mail r hand-delivery t the Tyler Public Library n later than 5 p.m. n Friday, May 15, Anyne assisting in yur exhibit is required t sign the Applicatin and Waiver f Liability belw yur signature. Failure t d s will make them ineligible t participate. All crrespndence must cntain yur name, address and phne number. DIGITAL IMAGES An artist can submit up t three jpeg images r ne 30-secnd vide clip as a representatin f his/her cllectin r prductin fr cmmittee review. Based n these images, the AAEC event staff will accept the artist s entire cllectin r prductin fr exhibit r perfrmance. Each digital image must be labeled with artist s last name, title f wrk and size f the wrk (example Smith- Mna Lisa 12x12). The digital file must be in jpeg frmat, between 1 and 3 MB at 300dpi/ppi. Thirtysecnd vide clips f perfrmance art may be submitted in MP3 frmat up t a maximum f 4 MB. Digital images shuld be ed in an n larger than 7MB ttal t clving@tylertexas.cm. Artists may als mail r hand-deliver a cmpact disk with up t three images r 30-secnd vide clip t: Tyler Public Library, 201 S. Cllege, Tyler, TX The Applicatin and Waiver f Liability and Artist Infrmatin and Entry Descriptin Frm must accmpany the images whether ed, mailed r hand delivered. Any submissin received after the deadline will be ineligible fr exhibitin. SALES: Tyler Public Library will retain a 20% cmmissin n all sales. Please price yur wrk accrdingly. Purchaser will be respnsible fr picking up artwrk r fr shipping csts. Artist must fill ut City f Tyler Vendr Frm t receive payment. 3 AAEC Rules Please initial each bx as acknwledgement f AAEC Rules. All art will be accepted and displayed at the discretin f the AAEC Cmmittee. The cmmittee reserves the right t require remval f any piece at any time if it des nt meet AAEC guidelines. Cntent f artwrks must be f a nature that is apprpriate fr display in a public space. Since yung children may be present, Taylr Auditrium may be reserved fr wrks whse cntent is apprpriate fr a mature audience. Artwrk t be included in the event will be selected frm the entries by a cmmittee f evaluatrs t include a member f the library staff, a member f the curatrial staff f the Tyler Museum f Art and an art educatr. Artists and artwrk will be selected n the basis f Quality f executin, Variety f media, Space requirements, Observance f cntent apprpriateness, Demnstratin descriptin. Artists agree t prvide demnstratins within the artist s display area and displays shuld be designed fr an indr envirnment. Artists shuld be prepared t demnstrate and talk abut their art with visitrs. Exhibit space will be allcated at the discretin f the AAEC cmmittee. Artists will prvide all display equipment necessary and apprpriate fr the space assigned. Including but nt limited t displays, lamps, pwer strips/crds, pens, paper, fans, etc. The library will prvide tables and chairs. Tw and three-dimensinal artwrk and phtgraphy must fit n easels r pedestals n wall hanging space will be available, but larger wrks may be leaned against walls. Three-dimensinal sculptural wrks must fit thrugh a typical three-ft-wide drway. Perfrmance art and multimedia wrks must require n mre than 150 square feet f perfrmance area. Fr multimedia wrks, artists must supply their wn prjectrs and equipment. Artists must set up their exhibitin space and be ready t welcme visitrs by 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30 and by 1 p.m. Sunday, May 31. The Library will pen t artists at 7:30 a.m. Saturday. Artists whse wrk requires mre time fr set-up will be allwed, at the Library s discretin, t install their wrk between 4 and 6 p.m. Friday, May 29th. Artists are required t check in with Tyler Public Library n later than 8:30 a.m. n Saturday and 11:30 a.m. n Sunday. N exceptins. The artists (r artist representative) must stay with the artwrk at all times. Vlunteers will als be n hand t mnitr display areas during breaks. A hspitality area will be available n-site fr the artists. Artist representatives are required t prvide a signed cpy f the Waiver f Liability. Artists may display printed material abut their wrk (business cards, fliers). All artwrk and exhibit areas must be cleared by 6 p.m. n Sunday, May 31. Wrks may nt be remved frm the exhibit until the end f the event.
