1 GENERAL RULES FOR ALL MALIFAUX TOURNAMENTS All Turnaments will be run using the Malifaux Gaining Grund 2011 rules. Exceptins and special rules are listed belw: All Mdels must be fully painted (3 clr standard) and based. Prxies are nt allwed fr any mdels. Cnversins are allwed fr any publicly release mdel as lng as 66% f the mdel is either a Wyrd mdel r hand sculpted. All cnversins must be apprved by the TO befre the start f the event. All Schemes are cnsidered unique during the turnament and may nly be selected nce thrugh the entire turnament. (50 STONES) Rund Time Limit: Brawl (including Setup) - 50 stnes 150 Minute time limit Strategy Selectin Fixed Shared Strategy Turnament: Each rund, the TO annunces the Shared Strategy t be used by the players. The TO will pick a different Shared Strategy each rund. These can be Cre r Expanded, and the TO uses the Rules Manual t annunce them. These Strategies will be annunced ahead f time (mid-january 2012) s crews can be built arund them. Crew Cnstructin Fixed Crews (Brawl Cmpatible Masters): Each player will draft a 25 stne scrap crew fr the turnament independent f their team mate. With the fllwing exceptins belw: Special Rules A team s set f masters must be brawl cmpatible (fllw this link t see what masters are cmpatible). Mdel Rarity is handled n a crew basis. Example: If yur masters are Lady Justice and Perdita, bth yur crews can cntain an Executiner. Unique mdels may nly be taken nce per team. Example: In the abve example nly ne f yur crew culd cntain Nin Ortega. Each player will cntrl his wn 25 stne crew. He/She will have his wn cntrl deck and his/her wn pull f Sul Stnes t wrk with Initiative: Each rund each team will nminate ne player t flip initiative fr their team. That player uses his/her wn cntrl deck and sul stne pull fr the flip. Only his/her mdels can affect their flip r their ppnents flip. Example: Team A (Dan and Dave) are playing against Team B (Victr and Bret). Team A selects Dave t flip initiative. Team B selects Bret. Dave has a dppelganger in his crew s Team B will have a negative flip t their initiative. Mdel Activatin Sequence: After imitative is flipped, the winning team selects ne team member t be the first player and the ther player t be the third player. The ppsing team then selects which player will be the secnd player and which player will be the furth player. The rund then begins with the players activating in the rder selected abve. This rder remains the same thrugh the entire game rund. When a player has run ut f mdels t activate his phase is skipped. Examples: Team A has wn initiative. Dan chses t take the 1st Player card. Dave is then left with the 3rd player card. Bret then takes the 2nd player card leaving Victr with the 4th player card. Dan will then activate his first mdel, fllwed by Bret, then t Dave and finally Victr. This rder will remain the same fr the entire game rund. Player Eliminatin and Activatin Sequence: In the event that ne player is eliminated frm the game. His/Her teammate then gains the ptin t activate n either r bth f the activatin phases. Examples: Victr has been eliminated frm the game. Team B had ne initiative this rund s Bret can nw chse t activate his mdels n either Phase 1 r Phase 3. He must activate n at least ne f thse phases but he can chse t activate n bth if he has inactivated mdels t d s. Schemes: Each player will select ne scheme each rund. When selecting the Scheme they must reveal which ppsing crew they are perfrming the Scheme against. Schemes are unique and may nly be used nce in the turnament per team.

2 Hw t Track Scres Ttal Victry Pints, Turnament Pints, and Victry Pint Differential: At the end f each Encunter, players tally up the VP that they earned that rund. The player that earned mre VP than his r her ppnent wins the game and the ppnent lses the game. In case f the same VP cunt, the game is a Draw. Victry Pints [VP]: This is the amunt f pints each player earned. Using the example abve, Drew wuld have 6 VP while Zee wuld have 4 VP. Turnament Pints [TP]: A Win awards 3 TP t the winner, a Draw awards 1 TP t each player, and a Lss awards 0 TP t the defeated player. Eg. Drew and Zee played a game, and Drew scred 6 VP while Zee scred 4 VP. Drew receives 3 TP, while Zee receives 0 TP. Victry Pint Differential [VPD]: Nte the difference between the players VP at the end f the Encunter. The player with the higher scre scres VPD equal t the psitive amunt f that difference, while the player that had the lwer scre receives VPD equal t the negative amunt f that difference. Using the example abve, Drew wuld have +2 VPD, while Zee wuld have -2 VPD. Cmbining the abve statistics, at the end f rund ne, Drew has a scre f 6VP/3 TP/+2VPD, while Zee has a scre f 4VP/0TP/- 2VPD. Pairings and Scring Frmat (DIFF Primary Frmat) First rund pairings are randm. After the first rund, the TO pairs players based n their DIFF scres. Players will always play ther players with similar DIFF scres. After rund ne, and cntinuing fr all runds, players with psitive DIFF shuld be paired ff against ne anther, while players with neutral r negative DIFF shuld be paired ff against ne anther. Determining a Winner (DIFF/VP/TP) At the end f the turnament, rank all players in descending rder frm highest DIFF t lwest DIFF. The player with the highest DIFF is the winner! In case f any DIFF ties, the VP becmes the first tie-breaker - the player with the higher VP wins. If this is als tied, TP is the final tie-breaker, wherein the player with the higher TP wins the tie. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q: Are my partner s mdels cnsidered friendly mdels?
