1 23 rd Internatinal Cngress n Irrigatin and Drainage 8-14 Octber 2017, Mexic City, Mexic Theme: Mdernizing Irrigatin and Drainage fr a New Green Revlutin Guidelines fr Preparatin f Accepted Papers (Full Length) / Psters Upn receiving acceptance letter frm ICID Central Office, authrs are required t prvide an electrnic versin f the full length paper in Micrsft Wrd frmat by strictly fllwing the guidelines: Definitin Extended Abstract f wrds is cmprehensive and cntains mre detailed infrmatin abut the cntents and cnclusins f the paper. Besides enabling the reader t decide whether it merits his reading r nt, the purpse f the Extended Abstract is t enable the scrutinizers t make crrect appraisal f suitability r therwise f the paper fr the purpse fr which it is being submitted. Language f Extended Abstract f the papers The fficial languages f the Cmmissin are English and French. Papers are accepted in either f the tw languages adpted by the authr(s). Extended Abstract f the papers fr the Cngress Questins, are invariably published simultaneusly with the papers themselves. Accrdingly, all papers shuld cntain an Extended Abstract in the language adpted by the authr and als in the ther fficial language f the Cmmissin. Layut f text Page size A4 (Width 21 cms, Height 29.7 cms) with Tp Margin 3 cms, Bttm Margin 3 cms, Left and Right Margins 3.8 cms. The title f the paper shuld be in capital letters (uppercase) (Fnt: Arial, Size: 12 pints, all bld) in the centre f the page, and the authr s name shuld be single line space belw the last line f the title in the ther language. If there are mre than ne authr, these shuld be n the same line ne after anther. Use quadruple spacing between the authr s name and the first main heading. Thereafter, use duble spacing between headings and paragraphs and between paragraphs. Main headings t be in capital letters (Fnt: Arial, Size: 10 pints, all bld caps) in centre f the page. Sub-headings t be in bld small letters (Fnt: Arial, Size: 10 pints, all bld) starting flush t the left-hand margin. The general text t be in Arial with fnt size 10. Figures Use single spacing in the text. If a line cntains scripts r indices, use 1½ spacing between that line and the next. Give equatins/frmulae in the centre f the page using 2½ spacing between text and equatin, and in between equatins. The captins f figures and tables shuld be given in tw languages in the language f the paper as well as in the ther language (in French, if the paper is in English and vice versa). Insert figures in the apprpriate area with a separate cpy f the figures in anther file. The inserted figures are required in high reslutin frmat (JPG, PNG, DWG, PDF, etc.) with 96 dpi r mre. Refer diagrams and phtgraphs as figures in the text. Number the figures cnsecutively with Arabic numerals in the rder reference is made t them in the text. Insert figure(s) as clse as pssible t its/their first reference in the text. Leave suitable blank spaces fr figures while keying in the text f the paper in the cmputer. 1

Full page figures culd be in size f 125 mm x 220 mm. Line drawings shuld be made in black and white r clurs in JPG/TIF/DWG/AI/EPS/PDF frmats and inserted in the respective areas. Surce files are als required separately fr better reslutin. Tables and frmulae Avid excessive ntes in figures. Phtgraphs shuld be in clur r black and white and stred in JPG/PNG/TIF frmat inserted in their respective areas. Surce files are als required fr better reslutin with gd cntrast (t be attached separately). Insert tables and frmulae as clse as pssible t their first reference in the text. Frmulae, if mre than ne, may be numbered, cnsecutively. Number tables cnsecutively in Arabic numerals and prvide them with suitable headings at the tp (in centre) in bth fficial languages as shwn belw Table 1. Avid abbreviatins in clumn headings and indicate units in the line immediately belw the heading. Give explanatins, if any, at the bttm f the table, and nt within the table itself. Limits fr number f pages The papers shuld be up t 10 pages (A-4 size) inclusive f tables and figures. Submissin f Full Paper Full length papers prepared based n the templates (23Cngress_template1 / 23Cngress_template2) shuld be sent t the address mentined in yur acceptance letter. Fcus n aspects in which smething riginal r f practical imprtance is t be cntributed. 2. The range f each tpic has been defined n the basis f the present knwledge f the tpic. Original cntributins n new aspects will be accepted n merit basis. Authrs shuld nte that a re-statement f well-knwn facts and principles, available in easily accessible publicatins, may nt be accepted. Hwever, if in presenting new facts and principles it becmes necessary t refer t ld publicatins, this may be dne as briefly as pssible fr clarity. References may be given t help interested readers t search deeper int the subject. 3. Authrs may bear in mind that the aim f the Cngress is t pl experience and knwledge, nt nly in basic principles but als with regard t field studies and actual results btained in different cuntries. In discussing fundamental principles, hwever, authrs shuld try, as far as pssible, t refer mainly t their practical aspect. Experience has shwn that purely academic discussins, whatever their intrinsic value, are nt fllwed by the large majrity f the audience in a Cngress. It is, therefre, desirable that authrs shuld cncentrate and stress mre n the practical aspects rather than the theretical aspects. Again, in discussing field results and practical experiences, fundamentals shuld nt be ignred entirely. It is nly by a prper understanding and analysis f a given experience that the result can be applicable t similar circumstances, elsewhere. The papers will g thrugh a review prcess and authrs will be infrmed abut the acceptance f his/her paper either fr ral r pster discussin. At the technical sessins, the Panel Experts will be presenting their reprts n the sub-questins, whereas the Questin as a whle shall be presented by the General Reprter during the Cngress Plenary Sessin. The authrs f the accepted papers will nly be permitted t present any relevant aspect f their paper which in their pinin are nt sufficiently cvered by the Panel Experts, r the General Reprter r the gaps that have been identified by them. The authrs wuld be given 5 minutes each s that there remains sufficient time fr discussins. Authrs f pster discussins can participate in the panel discussins and frmulatin f recmmendatins. 4. The language f the paper shuld be either English r French. Nn-English speaking authrs are advised t get their paper/extended abstract edited fr English s that it is ready fr printing, as there is n time t send back the paper fr underging crrectins. 5. The length f the paper shuld nt exceed 4,000 wrds (i.e. equivalent t 10 pages f A-4 size including tables and figures). 6. The title f the paper shuld be as brief as pssible, preferably nt exceeding 70 characters and spaces. [Refer Sample Paper < 7. The authr s full name shuld appear belw the title f the paper and a ftnte stating present emplyment and cmplete address, , etc., must appear n the first page f the paper, separated frm the text by a 4-cm rule. It is imperative that the paper t be submitted must nt have been published elsewhere prir t the date f the Cngress. Material f an advertising nature may nt be accepted. 10. The paper must be written in third persn. 11. The data and numerical infrmatin shuld be given in metric units; and if necessary, equivalent units in British system may appear in brackets. 12. Detailed references shuld be given at the end f the text f the paper. References shuld be arranged in alphabetical rder accrding t surname. The arrangement in an individual reference shuld be as under: Name(s) f authr(s), Year f issue, Title f publicatin r article, Name f 3

Als make sure t dwnlad the pster templates t match yur requirement and prepare yur pster strictly using this template fr maintaining unifrmity: 23 rd ICID Cngress Pster Template: < After preparing the pster using ne f the pster templates, send a cpy f the same t ICID Central Office <icid@icid.rg> befre deadline. Please nte that full paper is nt required in this categry. Hwever, a digital pster (PDF) shuld be sent t ICID Central Office <submit_paper@icid.rg> befre the deadline fr inclusin in the DVD/USB. A strict prductin schedule, will be fllwed, therefre any delay in submissin may result in exclusin f yur pster in the cngress prceedings/dvd/usb.
