GENERAL AND LEGAL INFORMATION 1.1 Organisatin verview and aims Red.es is a public crprate entity attached t the Ministry f Industry, Energy and Turism respnsible fr prmting the develpment f the Infrmatin Sciety in Spain. The missin f the entity is t carry ut ICT prjects in accrdance with the strategic pririties f the State Secretariat fr Telecmmunicatins and the Infrmatin Sciety and in cllabratin with the Autnmus Regins, lcal entities and the private sectr. Additinal prvisin sixteen f Law 9/2014 f 9 May, The Telecmmunicatins Act, grants the public crprate entity Red.es the right t manage dmain name registratin with the cuntry cde fr Spain (".es"). The primary bjectives f Red.es are t: Generate jbs - thrugh prgrammes bsting the ICT sectr - and t prmte entrepreneurship. Increase the prductivity and cmpetitiveness f businesses; and Achieve savings and efficiency in public spending. Red.es activity is based arund fur key areas: 1. Shared services between public administratins. 2. Public-private cllabratin. 3. Internatinalisatin. 4. Management f.es dmains. 1.2 Services Prvided The Crprate Public Cmpany Red.es acts as the Assignment Authrity fr ".es" dmain names in accrdance with Additinal Prvisin Six f Law 9/2014, f 9 April, the General Telecmmunicatins Act and the Infrmatin Sciety and Electrnic Cmmerce Services Act. Assignment duties cnsist f running the dmain names Register, which includes implementatin, maintenance and peratin f the resurces, applicatins and the databases necessary fr running the Internet dmain names system under the cuntry cde crrespnding t Spain (".es"). The Register is managed fr the general interest, ensuring its security and applying the principles f quality, efficiency, reliability and accessibility. Page 3 f 11

4 Management f and access t the Register database cntaining persnal details always cmplies with the prvisins f Organic Law 15/1999, f 13 December, the Persnal Data Prtectin Act, and any subsequent legislatin stemming frm this Act. 1.3 Abut Dmain Registratin What yu can request Dmains that are assigned autmatically: ".es", t identify yur name, yur cmpany, yur rganisatin, etc. n the Internet. Examples: lquequiera.es, minmbre.es, miempresa.es mirganism.es.cm.es" fr any type f lw cst activity, fr example: cnciert.cm.es ".nm.es" fr yur name, fr example: martaperez.nm.es ".rg.es" fr yur rganisatin, fr example: caritas.rg.es Dmains that require prir verificatin: ".edu.es" if yu are an fficially recgnised educatinal rganisatin, fr example: clegixxx.edu.es ".gb.es" reserved fr Public Entities and gvernmental institutins, fr example: ministerixxx.gb.es Hw t apply Thrugh an Accredited Registrar: in additin t ffering a cmpetitive price, they simplify the prcedure and ffer a series f benefits and added value services ( Directly thrugh "Dminis.es": Direct registratin is nly available fr very specific situatins that d nt require intermediaries fr special circumstances. Direct registratin thrugh Red.es nly prvides the dmain name (n additinal services) and, because f the special cnditins, cmes at a higher price regulated by internal instructin. ( mini=2). Wh can apply? Anyne with links t Spain can apply frm any part f the wrld fr a ".es" dmain. Individuals, legal entities and rganisatins with n legal persnality that have links with Spain can request any ".es" and/r ".cm.es" dmain. Individuals wh have links with Spain can request ".nm.es" dmains. Page 4 f 11

5 Nn-prfit entities, institutins r grups with r withut legal persnality and that maintain links with Spain can register ".rg.es" dmains. The ".gb.es" and ".edu.es" dmains can nly be requested by Public Organisatins & Entities and by Institutins related t teaching r research in Spain respectively. 1.4 Current list f regulatins fr the service 1. Ministerial Order ITC/1542/2005, f 19 May, apprving the Natinal Plan fr Internet Dmain Names under the cuntry cde fr Spain ".es". 2. Directive f the General Directr f the Public Crprate Entity Red.es, establishing the fees fr assignment, renewal and ther limited resurce registratin peratins fr dmain names under the cuntry cde fr Spain ".es". 3. Directive frm the General Directr f Red.es, dated 2 January 2010, setting ut the prcedures applicable t the assignment f ".es" dmain names and ther peratins assciated with their registratin. 4. Directive frm the General Directr f the Public Crprate Entity Red.es establishing the prcedure fr reassigning dmain names f exceptinal general interest. 5. 7 2. ADDED VALUES The Official ".es" Register has implemented a series f additinal technlgies and prcesses designed t imprve service quality. The purpse is t satisfy citizen demands in the areas f security, cnnectivity, cmbat against fraud, digital identity, e-cmmerce, etc. These added value services ensure that ".es" dmains are psitined as advanced dmains and highly cmmitted t the needs f their users. 2.1 IPv6 IPv6 is the Internet prtcl versin 6 and the successr f IPv4. It is a significantly imprved versin with substantial advantages ver IPv4. Furthermre, it slves the prblem f insufficient IPv4 addresses with the grwth f the Netwrk as a cnsequence f the increased numbers f users and devices (mbile phnes, laptps, cmputers, etc.) and the type f cnnectivity, given that these need t be permanently cnnected. It is expected that IPv4 and IPv6 will perate simultaneusly fr sme years althugh IPv6 will replace IPv4 in the lng term. 2.2 DNSSEC DNSSEC is a set f security extensins that uses asymmetric encding develped fr the DNS system. It prvides the fllwing benefits: Authenticates the rigin f data n a DNS server Maintains the integrity f data between DNS servers Denial f authenticated existence 2.3 Antiphishing In rder t act against dmain name fraud carried ut under the ".es" dmain, the Public Crprate Entity Red.es cllabrates with the Spanish Natinal Institute fr Cybersecurity, INCIBE, (incidencias@certsi.es), a bdy that pays attentin t all types f electrnic fraud, fcusing primarily n thse cases related t ".es" dmain names. 2.4 Multilingual Characters (Internatinal Dmain Names, IDN) Multilingual characters are thse characters which frm part f the different Spanish languages and which are nt fund in the Angl-Saxn alphabet. The Red.es Open Data Initiative is gverned by said Plan f Measures t Prmte Reuse; pen data is a philsphy and practice seeking t ensure that certain public data are freely available t everyne, with n cpyright restrictins, patents r ther cntrl mechanisms. The data are published in raw frmat (unprcessed) and in frmats that facilitate reuse. Within the framewrk applicable t "Dminis.es", a text file is available fr dwnlad cntaining a list f active ".es" dmain names. Furthermre, fr thse cases where the wner is a legal entity, the file als includes the name f the wner and their NIF (Spanish tax cde). This file will be updated n a mnthly basis. These files will be accessed upn request and their use will be regulated accrding t the actins defined in the reslutin. 2.6 WHOIS Prt 43 This is a "Dminis.es" WHOIS service, fr which yu have t register ( that can be accessed n prt 43. Searches can be perfrmed n secnd and third level dmains, including thse with IDN characters. Page 8 f 11

10 Electrnic Office: Electrnic ffice f Red.es: prvides access t all the Electrnic Administratin services that Red.es makes available t citizens and enterprises, in cmpliance with Law 11/2007, f 22 June, the Citizen Electrnic Access t Public Services Act. The electrnic ffice stres the Red.es Electrnic Registry that enables yu t interact electrnically with the entity t file dcuments, requests and cmmunicatins relating t the administrative prcedures specified in its Charter and published n this page. Red.es has the fllwing address available: sprte@sede.red.gb.es, where yur can ask questins and reprt incidents, which will be respnded t n wrking days between 09:00 and 19: Identificatin and address f the unit respnsible fr the charter The General Secretariat f Red.es is respnsible fr c-rdinatin and peratins management and mnitring f the Services Charter. 3.3 Means f access and transprt Red.es ffices are in Edifici Brnce, which is in Plaza Manuel Gómez Mren. 11 Yu can reach the Nuevs Ministeris statin n lines 6, 8 (direct line frm the airprt) and 10. The entrance t the square is a few metres frm the metr exit in Calle Orense. G up the street in the directin f Avenida del General Perón and turn at number 4 t g int the square. T get here by the suburban line, the clsest stp is Nuevs Ministeris. Yu can als reach Nuevs Ministeris by bus n lines 5, 14, 27, 40, 126, 147, 149, 150 and Circular. Frm the airprt: The Red.es ffices are apprximately 15/20 km frm the airprt. The best way t get there is by metr. Metr Line 8 takes yu directly t "Nuevs Ministeris" and the jurney takes apprximately 15 minutes. Yu can als take a taxi.
