And with the warmer weather we have some fun events and classes that you want to check out! Row By Row On The Go is a summer time nation-wide shop hop that now is international! We are excited to be participating again for the fourth year! Last year they added a Ninth Row which was a fund raiser for local Rescue Missions. We were proud to send a check for $200 to the Springfield Rescue Mission based on the number of kits we sold. There will be a Ninth Row again this year and it will be a fund raiser for a local children s charity. Row By Row is encouraging young quilters with the addition of Row By Row Junior. We will be participating in this also! Children ages 6-14 can collect free patterns for rows especially designed for them at participating shops. There will be kits available for purchase and anyone can purchase the kits. Watch for more information and pictures coming soon! 2 Class Policies: Sign ups will begin on April 8 at 10 am You may only sign up two people for each class/event (i.e. yourself & a friend) Class fee must be paid at time of registration. Telephone registrations will be held for one week. Please get supply lists in advance. Most classes require some preparation. Please purchase supplies at our shop. (This helps if there is a cutting oops and you need more fabric!) 10% discount will be given on all fabrics, books, patterns, and notions for class projects. Class credit will be given if we are notified of cancellation at least ONE WEEK in advance. Sorry, NO RE- FUNDS. If class is full, please put your name on waiting list. *Waiting list people will be contacted first if class is repeated at a later time. If you like a class, but cannot make the time it is scheduled, please call to put your name on a waiting list specifying different date. Saturday Classes Four Patch Stacked Posie Make a gorgeous quilt using only one print fabric for the blocks and borders. You will learn the techniques of Machine Embroidery Applique and piecing in-the-hoop to create a 16 x 38 pillow. Embroidery Design Collection purchase required. May with Herb $25.00 Cutwork Needles (machine embroidery) Come learn how to use the cutwork needles as you make this cute eyeglass case with cutwork design. Kit and embroidery design included with class. May with Valerie $40.00 Barn Raising - Make this popular pattern using half-square triangles. Alternating light and medium/dark fabrics makes for a stunning quilt of any size. This miniature is charm pack friendly, but the pattern can be made with larger half-square triangles making it a great experience for beginning quilters. Bloc- Loc ruler of your desired size square (or larger) is required. The miniature uses a 2.5 inch Bloc-Loc ruler. This pillow cover will continue to perfect your techniques of Machine Embroidery Applique. You ll add some additional embroidered stitch details to create this 16 x 38 pillow. Embroidery Design Collection purchase required. June with Herb $25.00 Cell Phone Charging Holder (Ribbon Stitches) Learn how to make this great holder for charging your cell phone. We ll use the ribbon stitches on your machine (Performance 5.2, or Creative 4.5, Visions, Sensations) to embellish the holder. Not sure if your machine can do ribbon stitches, check with us. 3 Class Sign-ups begin April 8 at 10 am...class Sign-ups begin April 8 at 10 am Beginning Quilting This class will introduce you to the basic techniques of quilting while creating 3 wonderful projects. Classes will include the safe and proper use of the rotary cutter (needed for nearly all quilting projects of today), and achieving a 1/4 inch seam. Beginning Quilting will prepare you for nearly all classes presented at Quilts and Treasures, Inc. We ll be happy to help you choose your fabrics. Class discount on all class supplies. With Mindy $65.00 Wednesdays 6:30-8:30pm Apr 26, May 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, June 7 Or Mondays 6:30-8:30pm June 19, 26, July 10, 17, 24, 31, Aug 7 Beginning Machine Quilting This introductory class in Machine Quilting will teach you how to use your sewing machine to achieve beautiful results as an alternative to tying your quilts. The class will cover cross hatching, echoing, stippling, and other free motion techniques. Walking foot and darning (stippling) foot for your machine required. Quarter inch foot is helpful. If you need help, please let us know. Tuesdays, June 13 & pm with Valerie $25.00 Making Waves This little quilt by Kim Diehl has a lot of WOW in a small project. Don t be intimidated by all of the piecing we ll take it one step at a time and it will be easy! Finishes 24 1/2 square. Pattern included in the class fee and we have some kits available. Tuesday May 9, 23, June 6 6:30-8:30 with Jan $25.00 Raspberry Cocoa Enjoy making this classic bear paw pattern designed by Kim Diehl. Her newest fabric collection entitled Katie s Cupboard makes this 27 quilt sing with spectacular bright colors. Purchase one of the limited available kits, or use your own favorite choices of fabric. Bloc-Loc ruler (4.5 or larger) is required, but enjoy the free pattern! This class is for experienced quilters. Tuesdays June 13, July 11, & Aug 1 6:30-8:30 with Leslie $25.00 Quilter s Tote A special tote to hold all your stuff for classes! This project has 3 outside pockets that will hold your rulers and rotary cutter with ease while the tote itself is large enough for your 18 x 24 mat. Simply quilted, you ll love it!
