T-Shirt Quilt Take that collection of T-shirts and create a wonderful memory quilt for your kids or yourself. Georgia will teach us how to stabilize the T- shirt logos and integrate into a quilt. 2 SEWING BASICS for the Quilter Have you ever wanted to learn the art of Quilting? We have a class for you! This four class series will teach you the fundamental basics from learning how to use a rotary cutter, mat, & ruler, to sewing accurate 1/4 seams. You will also learn about selecting projects, choosing fabrics, color power and piecing blocks. When you are finished this class you will have a beautiful table runner (like one of the two in picture) and knowledge of the four quilting blocks! Beginning in January 2019, the Busy & Wanna Bees sew group project will be the QUATREFOIL LAP QUILT! This year we are going to make a laptop quilt. So, here is your chance to learn how this amazingly versatile block stitches together quickly and easily. After taking this class, you will be able to use this skill for creating beautiful table toppers, table runners, and quilts. All sizes will be provided in the last class. (OOPS YOUR SEWING MACHINES!) Join in the fun with this variation of the Jelly Roll Race. It is quick, easy and loads of fun! The Winner of the Race will get a PRIZE!!! Instructor: Candis Kennard Class Date: Thursday - January 17th and February 21st, AM 2 PM Cost: $25/person FARMER S WIFE SAMPLER *FYI IF YOU ARE A FAT QUARTER CLUB MEMBER THIS IS A FQ FRIENDLY CLASS!! The class will be a block of the month and meet once a month. Instead of learning a single block each month you will learn four new 6 x 6 blocks. The teacher is providing an extra incentive to complete your blocks each week ASK ABOUT THE EGG BASKET BUCKS!!!! Even if you are not interested in making all of the blocks, the history behind each block is fascinating! Come join us for a sewing and history lesson! 5 LIL POPPINS & POPPINS BAG It s Back again with a twist You have a choice! You can choose to make the Lil Poppin bag or the original Poppin Bag (see sizes below). These are sturdy bags with lots of detail, two outside pockets and inside pockets. This is a two day class and supply requirements are very specific. Kits for the bag hardware will be available at the quilt shop. If interested in either of these classes contact the quilt shop and pay for the hardware kit and the class fee to reserve your spot. Class size is limited to 6! 6 WEDGE TOTE BAG 14 X 14 X 5 (plus handles) Instructor: Keril Rieger and Rebecca Lauer Date: Tuesday February 19 th & 26 th, 2019 Have scraps? This is a scrap-friendly project and a great way to use your stash. Need an impressive way to transport or store your quilting projects, laptop or magazines and books? We have a fun project for you! The WEDGE TOTE is a versatile bag that could even be used for a purse. Plenty of inside pockets that can be designed to fit your personal needs. The Wedge Tote project requires StashTools templates #T3 and #T6 and the Wedge Tote pattern, which are available as a Kit at the Quilt Shop. You can complete this project in class, provided you do your homework before the class. 10 AM 3 PM (we will break for lunch) Class Fee: $25.00 / project YELLOW BRICK ROAD QUILT A Great Beginners Project This is a GREAT project for BEGINNERS! Come join our class as we Follow the Yellow Brick Road. We promise you won t end up in OZ but you will have a beautiful quilt top at the end of this journey! We are offering a four class series to teach some basic skills of quilting such as the use of a rotary cutter, mat, rulers, sewing accurate ¼ seams and reading a pattern. The class size will be limited to 5, so if interested in the beginners class, sign up and pay for your reserved place in class. It is a monthly subscription for eight coordinating fat quarters from our newest fabric selections. The bundles are coordinating and pre-determined from our latest fabrics. With your subscription, they can be picked up at the shop or shipped to your home with an additional charge. Sound interesting? How can you sign up to be a member? Come by the shop for additional benefit information on the club and fill out a form to subscribe for either 3, 6, or 12 months of membership. OH and I almost forgot the best part, as a member of the Fat Quarter Club you will receive a 15% discount anytime you shop with us during the time of your subscription. You will also receive advance notice of specials and sales for Fat Quarter members only! HEN HOUSE QUILTERS FOR QOV 3 Hens & a Chick Quilt Shop is excited to announce that we have become a Quilts of Valor Shop. As a QOV Shop, we will host a sew group on the 4 th Thursday of each month. The next meeting will be Thursday October 25 th from 10 AM 3 PM. Bring your fabric and machine to help sew a quilt for this worthy cause. 8 Calling ALL HAND SEWING enthusiasts! The first Wednesday of each month has been set aside for ALL hand sewing enthusiasts, be it EPP, Wool Appliqué, Embroidery, or even quilting. English Paper Piecing (EPP) has been around for a long time. Not sure if this is for you? Drop in and check us out, (Debbie Yff ) can get you started! It's the perfect portable project. You won't believe how easy it is to glue baste, and she has the greatest ideas for storage and the threads. Of course, if you've already discovered the wonderful world of EPP-ing, we'll just sew and chat all day.
