If you have been into the shop in the last few week s you will have noticed our new lay out, it has proven to be very popular and it makes the shop look bigger?? Come on in and have a look around. And now to the good stuff, ISSUE 20, TERM All of our usual classes in hand and machine work are running this term as well as a Scrap Mystery with Davena. If you have never tried a Mystery class why not join Davena for a fun day. Requirements for class will only be given out on payment of registration. Class fees are non-refundable. You may transfer to another class up until 7 days prior to scheduled class. After that we are committed to run the class so there are no transfers or credits. A credit will be give for classes cancelled due to lack of numbers. Have your sewing machine in good working order. Your own Rotary cutter, Board and Rulers are required for classes. Please purchase all class requirements prior to day of class. Please do not bring children or guests to a class. Please turn off your mobile or put on silent. Panel or Print (Beg) $ x 2 ½ hrs with Sue Drill 9:30-12:00, Friday May 17 th & 24 th This fast and easy quilt can be make using either, a feature fabric as the central panel, or a printed panel, or make up a simple lap or child s quilt in no time at all. 3. Beginners Patchwork (Beg) $ x 5 hrs with Sue Drill 9:30-3:00, Saturday May 25 th 2. Celebration Bunting Quilt (Beg) $ x 2 ½ hrs with Kim Pascoe 9:30-12:00, Tuesday May 21 st & 28 th A fun and easy quilt, to make for that special little (or big) someone. It looks lovely made up in the new Folk Tale range for a little girl, as on display or maybe the just arrived All hands on deck range for a little boy Pattern purchase required for this class This class cover the basics of cutting, stitching an accurate ¼ seam, strata s, and re-squaring blocks. And will set you on the way to making many beautiful quilts in the future. Quilters rulers required for class. 4. Tipsy Trees (Beg) $ x 5 hrs with Sue Drill 9:30-3:00, Saturday May 25 th Pieced and framed pine tree blocks, alternating with hour glass blocks make this smart quilt with partially pieced borders.

Beginners Machine Sampler (Beg) $ x 2 ½ hrs with Gayle Jones 12:30-3:00, Tuesday s May 28 th, June 4 th, 11 th, 18 th, 25 th & July 2 nd Join Gayle and over six weeks learn all the different techniques to make up the nine blocks in this lovely Sampler Quilt. As well as having some fun and a few laughs along the way. 6. Beginners Appliqué Sampler (Beg) $ x 2 ½ hrs with Robyn Macdonald 12:30-3:00, Wednesday s May 29 th, June 5 th, 12 th, 19 th, 26 th & July 3 rd Join Robyn for six lessons covering all the basics of needle turn appliqué. At the end of your six weeks you will have a beautiful appliquéd quilt top ready to be quilted. 7. Christmas Tree Skirt / Table topper (Beg-Int) $ x 2 ½ hrs with Sue Drill 9:30-12:00, Friday May 31 st & June 7 th This is going to be my new Christmas tree skirt for home, but it would also make a lovely table topper to decorate your home for the festive season. Quilters rulers required for class 8. Appliqué Workshop (Beg) $ x 5 hrs with Robyn Macdonald 9:30-3:00, Saturday June 1 st Let Robyn show you how to make beautiful pictures with fabric. Using the art of, needle turn appliqué. This is a beginners class covering Pattern transfer, flowers, leaves & bias stems

6 PAGE 6 PAGE 6 9. Hand Quilting Workshop (Beg) $ x 2 ½ hrs with Robyn Macdonald 12:30-3:00, Saturday June 1 st Have you ever wanted to learn how to Hand Quilt?? Join Robyn for this 2 ½ hr workshop and she will explain to you all the in s and out s of Hand Quilting. 11. Hop Scotch (Beg) $ x 5 hrs with Judith Lubieniecki 9:30-3:00, Saturday June 8 th The large rectangles of feature fabrics, make this a stunning but fast and easy quilt. On a simple background, with joiner strips between the blocks. This would make a great masculine quilt. Add borders if you wish for a larger finished quilt size. 10. Curved Stack and Slash (Beg) $ x 5 hrs with Gayle Jones 9:30-3:00, Saturday June 8 th Using some of the wonderful flannels in the shop, Gayle has made a man size version of her old pattern. You don t have to use flannels, as cotton fabrics will work just as well. A fat quarter friendly quilt, so a great way to use up a bundle you may have put aside for a special project. 12. Willow Appliqué (Beg- Int) $ x 2 ½ hrs with Robyn Macdonald 9:30-12:00 Wednesday June 12 th, 19 th, 26 th & July 3 rd Take a journey into the story of the Willow pattern, all done in fabric. Traditionally a blue & white colour combination, but Robyn has done hers in purple & white. A lovely simple quilt that can be completed by hand or machine.

7 13. Panels and Piecing (Beg) $50.00 PAGE 7 PAGE 7 2 x 2 ½ hrs with Gayle Jones 9:30-12:00, Friday June 14 th & 21 st Have you bought a panel and don t know what to do with it?? Let Gayle help you out. With her ideas and a little simple piecing, you can have a great new quilt in no time at all. 14. Finish your Beginners Patchwork (Beg) $ x 5 hrs with Sue Drill 9:30-3:00, Saturday June 15 th A class that covers turning your blocks into a quilt top. Topics covered include cutting set-in triangles, corner triangles and adding borders to your quilt top. 15. Bop with your Bali Pop (Beg) $ x 5 hrs with Sue Drill 9:30-3:00, Saturday June 15 th Come along and square dance with your Bali Pop. Pre-cut strips make this a fast and fun quilt to put together. 16. Machine Quilting Workshop (Beg) $ x 5 hrs with Davena Watts 9:30-3:00, Saturday June 22 nd In this workshop Davena will take you through all the basics of Machine quilting. Techniques covered include straight lines, Curved stencils, stippling and free hand flowers. Kit containing pre cut fabric & wadding required for this class is available for purchase. 8 PAGE 8 PAGE Kool Kaleidoscopes by Ricky Tims (Int-Adv) $ x 2 ½ hrs with Elinor Milewski 9:30-12:00, Monday June 24 th & July 1 st Join Elinor of this is a fun strip-pieced kaleidoscope quilt using Ricky Tims techniques. Every quilt will be as unique to its maker, and each and every quilt will make an awesome piece of art to hang on your wall. Book purchase required for this class Quilters rulers required for class. 19. Magic Four Patch (Beg) $ x 5 hrs with Kim Pascoe 9:30-3:00, Saturday June 29 th This quilt looks complicated. But is as easy as falling off a log. Join Kim and she will show you just how fast and easy this fun project really is. Pre-cut s such as layer cakes and charm squares will make for an even faster quilt. 18. Baby Bugs (Beg) $ x 2 ½ hrs with Sue Drill 9:30-12:00, Friday June 28 th & July 5 th A fast quilt for the new addition on the way, or just to add to your granny box. All you need is a feature fabric, add two contrasting fabrics and a background and you have all you need for this little beauty. 20. Paris Etchings (Beg) $ x 5 hrs with Judith Lubieniecki 9:30-3:00, Saturday June 29 th A bundle of Fat ¼ s will give you both of the quilts on display. With simple Four and Nine patch blocks and the addition of large blocks of fabric between. Pretty in soft florals or in any range.

9 PAGE 9 PAGE Mystery Scrap Quilt (Beg) $ x 5 hrs with Davena Watts 9:30-3:00, Saturday July 6 th Time to sort through your stash, and pick a theme for your scrap quilt. Davena has made hers in Blue s (surprise, surprise) Pick your favourite colour or work in a variety such as Country or Brights. And try either a consistent or scrappy background, it s all your choice.
