1 January March workshop list OliVen Patchwork and felting Introduction to free machine quilting Thu 7/1 at 10-1 PM, Tue 26/1 at 10-1 PM, Tue 2/2 at 10-1 PM, Thu 17/3 at 10-1 PM Are you frightened about free-machine quilting? This is your chance to face your fear and build your confidence with an experienced tutor. This is ongoing class, up to 4 different lessons, come to one or all four. All skills levels Price 18 per session Did you know your machine can do this?? Wednesday 6 th January at 10-3 PM OR Wednesday 2 nd March at 10-3 PM Do you know how to use all the functions on your machine? Does your machine have features you re afraid to use? Come and spend full day making samples and become friend with your machine. Bringing your own sewing machine is essential. Beginners Pri ce 30 Binding Techniques Saturday 16 th January at 10-3 PM OR Friday 18 th March at 10-3 PM Should I use a single or a double binding? Why not lift the binding with a contrast coloured piping? What if the quilt is double sided, or it has round or scalloped edges?? And most importantly: how do I do the mitred corners?? If you are confused now, by the end of this class you will know it all! Beginners Price 30 Baste it, quilt it, bind it! Wednesday 3 rd February at 10-4 PM Have you made your quilt top but now it s sitting in a drawer because you re afraid of the next steps? Three ways of holding the layers of quilt together, quilting using only straight stitches, and finishing the edges with neat binding that s what we will cover in this busy day. You will have to bring your finished quilt top. Beginners Price 35 Sewing day with help Wednesday 27 th January at 10-4 PM OR Wednesday 10 th February at 10-4 PM OR Wednesday 23 rd March at 10-4 PM Come and sew with an experienced quilter by your side. 2 Beginners Patchwork - 4 weeks Thursdays 21 st and 28 th Jan AND 4 th and 11 th Feb at 10-2:30 PM This workshop is for those of you who want to learn the basics of patchwork and soon move onto their own projects - 4 different blocks to start you off, teaching you the essentials from start to finish. Complete Beginners Price 80 Quilt in a month Tuesdays 23 rd Feb AND 1 st and 8 th March at 9:30-1 PM Quilt as you go lap quilt, Random nine patch single bed or Jelly roll quilt lap or single bed quilt. Three designs to choose from. Ideal for people with little experience who are ready to move onto larger projects. Pre-cutting the fabrics needed, three half day workshops with homework in between. Confident Beginners Price 4 8 Cot quilt for her or him Fridays 15 th Jan 10-4 PM AND 29 th Jan at 10-1 PM Cot quilt is the most popular quilt just the right size to tackle as your first quilt and always needed. This one will teach you how to master points in a pinwheel and one of the many ways how to appliqué. One and a half day. Beginners Price 48 Table runners and centre pieces Wednesday 20 th January at 10-4 PM Friday 25 th March at 10-4 PM You can choose from several different designs, many are the best projects for beginners, few require some sewing experience. Come and see them in the shop and we will help your to choose the right one for your abilities to brighten up your table. Beginners to Intermediate Price 35

3 Table runners with Gillian Tuesday 9 th February at 10-4 PM Stars, Linked square or Half-Square Triangles Gillian has prepared these three runners which are great first project to be introduced into the quilting world. Tutor: Gillian Strange Cushion play day Tuesday 15 th March at 10-4 PM Cushions are lovely addition to your home decor and brilliant way how to learn a certain technique. Chevrons, Stars and Cut-up nine patch are the three designs you can choose from on this day. Tutor: Gillian Strange Sizzix day die cutting machine Tuesday 12 th January at 10-4 PM Did you ever wondered how the die-cutting machine works to save your time? Using the Sizzix cutter you will cut out triangles or quarter circles and learn how to tackle curve piecing or points on the triangles. Each project can be turned into runner or a cot quilt. Tutor: Gillian Strange Dahlia table centre piece Wednesdays 24 th February AND 9 th March at 10-3 PM This beautiful table centre piece has lots of coloured variants and will be great decoration to any table in your garden or sitting room. 4 Cathedral window technique day Friday 22 nd January at 10-4 PM My very favourite technique led me to create several different cushions and wall hanging, choose which is your favourite and your colours and come and learn this interesting technique. Confident Reversible bags Saturday 30 th January at 10-4 PM There is a Bucket bag and Handbag with flap for you to choose from each of them can be turned inside out to have another bag. With the right choice of colours you can have two bags in one. Cushions in bloom Wednesday 16 th March at 10-4 PM Fabric manipulation is what these three cushions have in common. Come to the shop and have a look which one is the one you d like to do. Fabric Teddy Bear Saturday 9 th January at 10-4 PM Wouldn t it be nice to give your child or grandchild a handmade toy? This workshop will enable you to do just that! Or you can use your left-overs and match the quilt you ve just made. Joints and filling included in the price of the workshop. Confident Beginners Price 42 Introduction to needle felting Wednesday 13 th January at 10-1 PM OR Thursday 10 th March at 10-1 PM Come and try this easy technique which allows you to make an attractive flower brooch, decorate an old jumper or scarf. 5 Play with Oil Paintsticks Friday 26 th February 10-1 PM Come and play with Markal Oil Paintsticks, we ll be using rubbing plates, stencil brushes, and having fun decorating fabrics. Beginners Price 25 Recycled bag Tuesday 19 th January at 10-1 PM OR Tuesday 22 nd March 10-1 PM This is a very GREEN way to use your old grocery plastic bags and turn them into something very unique and interesting as a handbag or turn them into sturdier and longer lasting bag for your groceries. Beginners Price 20 Exploring Faux Chenille Saturday 6 th February at 10-4 PM Several layers of fabric, stitched through, then slashed and cut away, if you like creativity and playfulness with fabric, this is a class for you. Confident beginner Price 35 Creative quilting and painting wall hanging Thursdays 25 th February AND 3 rd March at 10-4 PM This creative wall hanging is made over two days. First day we design it and start quilting using machine Trapunto for raised effects. Second day we add piped binding and paint it. Paints for you to take home included in the price. 6 Clare Kiely felt making workshops First steps in Felting Friday 8 th January at 10:30 3:30 PM Come and learn this wonderful technique of wet felt making you will literally paint with fibres to create a piece of felt which can be then turned into cushion, book cover, framed and many more. Beads & Flowers & Soaps Saturday 23 rd January at 10:30 3:30 PM Another interesting way to play with felt is making delicate flowers and different kind of beads, which can be used to decorate bag or other flat felt or use on its own. 3D shapes - Bags and bowls Friday 5 th February at 10:30 3:30 PM OR Saturday 19 th March at 10:30 3:30 PM Bring another dimension to your felt! Using a resist to make a seamless pocket of felt which can be shaped into a beautiful bowl or small bag of your own choosing. Confident Beginners/Intermediate Price 35 General felting session Saturday 27 th February at 10:30-3:30 PM General session where Clare will teach you the techniques you like, from basic felt pictures, to small 3D objects to bags, slippers or hats. For 3D objects previous experience needed. Smaller class, limited spaces. Beginners to Intermediate Price 35 Nuno, cobweb, ruffle and lattice felt Friday 11 th March at 10:30 3:30 PM Clare will be showing you how to make delicate cobweb and lattice felt and introducing you to the wonders of Nuno. Using a variety of different materials, you will produce samples of all these types of felt as well as explore how to use them further and create a neck warmer to take home. Half a day option for Felt class with Clare: If you d like just a taster for any of the Felt making classes, you can book half a day in the morning 10:30-12:45 PM. If you need a refresher session because you had a lesson in the past, you can book an afternoon session 1:15-3:30 PM. Price 20

8 Terms: To reserve your place on any of the workshops, please, call into the shop or telephone or us at Full payment within 10 days of booking to secure your place on the workshop needed. Cancellation with 2 weeks notice - we will refund your payment or offer you a place on a future workshop. Cancellations within 13-8 days of the workshop we will refund 50% of the payment. Last minute cancellations, ie. 7 days or less before a workshop we re afraid we cannot refund any payments as from experience we ve found it impossible to fill places at such short notice. Full refund for cancelation under 14 days possible if we replace you. Thank you for understanding with these formalities. A requirement list will be given at the time of booking.
