Have you made New Years resolutions? Is one of them to get more organized? Then our Let s Get Organized Club is for you. Each month Sheri will demonstrate techniques for a new bag. Your skill level in bag construction will build as the year goes on. See page 5 for details or stop by the shop for more information. Snippets from Sandy Whatever your New Years resolutions are, we having something to inspire you. We have new fabric lines from Moda (Desert Bloom), Dear Stella (Foxtail Forest), Henry Glass (Doodle Days Calendar and Woodsy Wonder), and more colors and prints of Shannon cuddle. Have you started quilting with machine embroidery yet? Edge to Edge quilting has the new Expansion Pack 6. The exciting new cork fabric has arrived in colors. We now stock red, black, brown, navy and natural. Maybe your resolution is to try something new. Charmed Adventure Embroidery Block of the Month could be just what you are looking for. You can work on this project in our classroom during the day and/or evening or pick up your monthly information and sew at home. Maybe your resolution is to get together more with friends. 2 Learn to Quilt At the end of the 4 sessions, you will have learned the basic skills of quilt making: fabric selection, rotary cutting, accurate piecing, and adding borders. Come to the first class prepared to purchase your fabric and tools. 20% discount will be given for purchases made in first class. No experience necessary. BYOM Class fee is $75 plus supplies and book. 4 Sessions: Wednesday, Jan. 11, 18, 25, & Feb. 1: 1-4 pm Quilt It Learn to Use... Square on a Square This month we will be learning to use the Square on a Square ruler by Creative Grids. You purchase the tool and we will supply practice fabric. Please join us for this fun class. Bring your sewing machine, thread, rotary cutting equipment and basic sewing supplies. Class fee of $15 includes practice fabric. Monday, Jan. 16: 2-4 pm Youth Sewing This year we are going to work through the book I Can Quilt by Carolyn S. Vagts. Purchase of the book will be required for class and book must be brought to class. Each month we will be completing a different project. Students may pick and choose which months they want to attend; they are not required to attend all 12 classes. If you have purchased a machine from Rae-Bon please feel free to bring it, so you can continue to get to know your machine. Parents, Grandparents, or adult friends are welcome to come assist their budding sewer. Quilt As You Go Crib Quilt Working with this June Taylor panel allows you to have a finished quilt in no time. The pre-printed batting allows you to sew and quilt individual blocks, then join together for a finished quilt. One batting package makes a crib quilt-add more packages for a larger quilt. Kits available from the Kimberbell Baby Flannel. BYOM. Class fee is $15 plus supplies. Tuesday, Jan. 24: 1-4 pm or 6-9 pm Quilted Photo Frame In January, we will be making a quilted photo frame which holds a 5 x 7 photo. Come and meet new friends while learning new sewing skills. We laugh a lot and have fun! Class fee of $15 includes fabric, thread, and use of our machine. Saturday, January 21: 1-4 pm 2

3 Bench Pillow Club We are excited to offer this new Block of the Month club to you, which can be customized by you! You decide if you want to do machine embroidery or machine applique. Create a bench pillow cover each month; they look great on a couch too. Not into pillows, make them as table runners, throw over a couch or bed, make a wall hanging, you decide. We will have a monthly sewing day to work on your piece in the shop or you can work on your own at home. You can join the club at anytime, if you are not yet signed up. Each month Sheri will share tips and tricks for completing that month s pattern. January will focus on the Stash and Dash fold over organizer. Saturday, January 7: 10:30 am Multi-Needle Monday Owners and those interested in learning more about a multineedle machine can come and explore all the features these fantastic machines have to offer. We will take the mystery out of hooping these cute animals and embroider on its belly. These stuffed animals make great gifts when you add a personal touch with your own embroidery. No cost, just lots of fun! Monday, January 9: 1:00-2:00 pm Open Sew Join friends new and old during open sew time to finish all your unfinished projects. Or maybe start a new one! Please call to reserve your spot. Thursday, January 5, 12, & 26: 11:00-5:00 pm You bought a CD... Now What?!! Bring your laptop, a jump drive, and an embroidery CD. We ll practice the steps to take a design from a CD to a jump drive. If you don t have a laptop, you can still join us to learn the steps to practice at home. Class fee is $10. 4 Sewing Machine Explore Your Sewing Machine Explore the features and stitches of your new sewing machine. You will stitch samples, learn the functions of your machine, and basic cleaning. Open to Baby Lock, Brother, and Viking owners. No charge for machines purchased at Rae-Bon; $50.00 for others. Private classes on other brands may be available at a $75.00 charge; call the shop for details. Bring your machine, accessory feet, foot control, power cord, spool of thread, and bobbin. Saturday, January 28: 10:00 am - Noon Embroidery Basics (for all machines that do hooped computerized embroidery) This class will cover the basics of machine embroidery which includes machine functions, thread selection, stabilizer selection, and positioning designs. Open to Brother, Baby Lock, and Viking owners. No charge for machines purchased at Rae-Bon; $150 for others. Bring your machine, embroidery arm, power cord, embroidery foot, 4 x 4 (or 5 x 7 ) hoop, and spool of embroidery thread. 5 It's a New Year's resolution for so many of us... getting more organized! We invite you to sign up participate in this fantastic new 12-month club. Not only will you have useful projects to organize your home, work space and car, but you'll learn useful skills and techniques to increase your sewing skill repertoire.
