2 Class Policies: Sign ups will begin on April 14, 2015 at 6 pm in person; 7 pm by phone. You may only sign up two people for each class/event (i.e. yourself & a friend) Class fee must be paid at time of registration. Telephone registrations will be held for one week. Please get supply lists in advance. Most classes require some preparation. Please purchase supplies at our shop. (This helps if there is a cutting oops and you need more fabric!) 10% discount will be given on all fabrics, books, patterns, and notions for class projects. Class credit will be given if we are notified of cancellation at least ONE WEEK in advance. Sorry, NO RE- FUNDS. If class is full, please put your name on waiting list. *Waiting list people will be contacted first if class is repeated at a later time. If you like a class, but cannot make the time it is scheduled, please call to put your name on a waiting list specifying different date. We are an Authorized PFAFF Dealer. We service all makes and models of sewing machines. When was your last tune-up? Saturday Classes Twister (*10)- A great way to use those packages of 10 squares! Easy cutting, simple sewing and it results in a wonderful quilt that looks so much harder than it is! The pattern includes the special ruler that makes this technique so easy. It will make a 62 square quilting including borders. Pattern purchase required. May with Jan $10.00 I Used To Be A Layer Cake(*10) That s right...one 40-piece layer cake (its all about 10!!!!) will make this gorgeous bargello quilt! Class time will highlight the wall hanging size (41 x 54 1/2 ) but by making additional identical quilts, you can stitch them together creating larger quilts. Intermediate level (accurate cutting, accurate seams, good organization!) requires rotary cutting experience and pattern purchase. The simple diagonal piecing trick puts the spin in these blocks. Our sample is in the smaller size but there s an option to make it larger. 3 Class Sign-ups begin April 14 at 6 pm in person...class Sign-ups begin April 14 at 7 pm by phone Beginning Quilting This class will introduce you to the basic techniques of quilting while creating 3 wonderful projects. Classes will include the safe and proper use of the rotary cutter (needed for nearly all quilting projects of today), and achieving a 1/4 inch seam. Beginning Quilting will prepare you for nearly all classes presented at Quilts and Treasures, Inc. We ll be happy to help you choose your fabrics. Class discount on all class supplies. Mondays 6:30-8:30pm with Mindy $65.00 June 22, 29, July 6, 13, 20, Aug 3, 10 Beginning Machine Quilting This introductory class in Machine Quilting will teach you how to use your sewing machine to achieve beautiful results as an alternative to tying your quilts. The class will cover cross hatching, echoing, stippling, and other free motion techniques. Walking foot and darning (stippling) foot for your machine required. Quarter inch foot is helpful. If you need help, please let us know. BFF Taught by Alison Skar, Thursday, May 21 6:00-8:30 pm. Best friends forever! Pinwheel and four-patch blocks make up this colorful quilt. It starts with 5 squares. The borders can make this quilt top even more colorful. The class is meant for the confident beginner to intermediate quilter. Accurate cutting and tips for keeping seams even and straight will be discussed. Be prepared to cut and sew a few blocks during the class. No precutting other than the 5 blocks as directed in pattern is required before class. $15.00 Sea Glass Taught by Alison Skar, Thursday, June 4 6:00-8:30 pm. A super-simple and colorful project! This quilt top can be made with batiks or any combination of light and dark fabrics. The key to this design is using fabrics with contrast. The additional borders can make this quilt top even more colorful. This class is meant for the confident beginner. Accurate cutting and tips for keeping seams even and straight will be discussed. No precutting other than having 2 1/2 strips as required ready for use before class. These are great evenings to work on or finish projects, meet other sewers, and get some inspiration. We lock you in from 6 pm to midnight. You bring your own sewing machine and projects with a munchie to share. We provide the pizza. Door prizes! Friday, May pm $25.00 Friday, June pm $ th Anniversary Quilts & Treasures Block of the Month Mystery Quilt Fabrics have finally arrived! Join us for this wonderful 10 month program! Each month from March through December, pick up a kit that has instructions and fabric to make two 10 blocks (you ll make two of the same block). Kits will cost $10 each. At the end of the 10 months, you will have 20 blocks to set into a quilt. Setting suggestions will be made and an optional finishing kit will be available. The first block will be ready April 10th. Level of difficulty is easy. We want everyone to enjoy this! Colorways available will be Blues, Reproduction, Batiks, or Asian. Call now to reserve your spot in this program! Please specify your choice or ALL! Embroidery Block of the Month Attention Embroidery Machine Owners!! Join Herb once a month in the store to learn different techniques using your embroidery machine. Create blocks to put into a quilt or use in individual projects. Later classes may get into some design software. Project kit will be available for each class. Classes are available Friday afternoons or Saturday mornings. $10 per class. Project kit extra. Note: There won t be a class in July.
