We have some great classes and events that will do the same thing!!! June marks the beginning of many summer activities..including Row By Row! This year the theme is Home Sweet Home. At printing time, we re in the final stages of designing our row and will soon be in major kit production mode! Our row has an exciting feature to it this year and we can t wait to reveal it! Watch the website, facebook, Instagram, and/or the store wall for photos when its done! Traveling and collecting will begin on the first day of summer, June 21! If you ve never participated in the Row By Row.or you have and you know how exciting it is, join us for a Row By Row Get Ready Party on Friday night, June 10, from 7-8:30pm. It s going to be great fun! Experienced rowers are encouraged to bring some show & tell, hints and tips for planning your travels, organizing your rows, and fun stories. Want a traveling buddy? June 1 (6-1-16) is the day that registrations begin for the Massachusetts Quilt Shop Hop that will take place October 14, 15, & 16, This year there will be six shops participating all in Western Mass. So, naturally, our theme had to be The Wild West! Join us for the rootin-est, tootin-est, best fun you ve had in a coon s age, shop hop! 2 Class Policies: Sign ups will begin on April 9, 2016 at 10 am You may only sign up two people for each class/event (i.e. yourself & a friend) Class fee must be paid at time of registration. Telephone registrations will be held for one week. Please get supply lists in advance. Most classes require some preparation. Please purchase supplies at our shop. (This helps if there is a cutting oops and you need more fabric!) 10% discount will be given on all fabrics, books, patterns, and notions for class projects. Class credit will be given if we are notified of cancellation at least ONE WEEK in advance. Sorry, NO RE- FUNDS. If class is full, please put your name on waiting list. *Waiting list people will be contacted first if class is repeated at a later time. If you like a class, but cannot make the time it is scheduled, please call to put your name on a waiting list specifying different date. We sell PFAFF Sewing Machines! Saturday Classes Chicken Feed This little pattern by Miss Rosie s Quilts Co is a cute and easy design that finishes 43 square so it s just perfect for draping over a sofa, topping a table, hanging on a wall or made into a baby quilt! The pattern uses charm squares (or you can cut your own fabrics). Pattern purchase required. May with Jan $25.00 Frivols #5: Atelier Atelier means studio or workshop, but you won t have to work too hard to create this beauty! The 30 x 33 quilt uses rose, cream and deep blue-gray fabrics from the Petite Prints Deux collection by French General. It may be the easiest to construct of the series, and no additional fabrics are required for the top! Free class if kit is purchased from us. This timeless pattern is perfect worked up in batiks, reproduction fabrics, or your favorite coordinating fabrics. The use of the BlocLoc ruler will guarantee accuracy of the bear paws. Fig Tree & Co has designed their Strawberry Fields Revisited line in soft corals, creams, greens, golds, and tans. We have yardage from the line for the background, sashings, and border you will need to accompany the 42 7-inch squares in your kit. Free class if kit is purchased from us. June with Cyndy $25.00 Beach Balls by PatchAbilities Learn machine applique techniques as you create this small wallhanging perfect for the summer! Kits available. Pattern purchase required. June with Valerie $25.00 Salt Water Taffy Using an array of batiks (well, that s what we used as suggested by the designers!) create this simple to piece but stunning design which is all about color. Just one block repeated with graduating color choices makes this a truly beautiful lap sized quilt. Kits are available. Rotary cutting and pattern purchase required. June with Mindy $25.00 Duffle Bag In this project we will be making the large sized zippered duffle bag. The book shows three sizes and two different styles of this bag. Once you have mastered the first one, you will want to make the other sizes to complete your travel collection. The bag is great for advanced beginners and a great way to showcase beautiful fabrics. 3 Class Sign-ups begin April 9 at 10 am...class Sign-ups begin April 9 at 10 am Beginning Quilting -This class will introduce you to the basic techniques of quilting while creating 3 wonderful projects. Classes will include the safe and proper use of the rotary cutter (needed for nearly all quilting projects of today), and achieving a 1/4 inch seam. Beginning Quilting will prepare you for nearly all classes presented at Quilts and Treasures, Inc. We ll be happy to help you choose your fabrics. Class discount on all class supplies. Wednesdays 6:30-8:30pm with Mindy $65.00 May 4, 11, 18, 25, June 1, 8, 15 Beginning Machine Quilting This introductory class in Machine Quilting will teach you how to use your sewing machine to achieve beautiful results as an alternative to tying your quilts. The class will cover cross hatching, echoing, stippling, and other free motion techniques. Walking foot and darning (stippling) foot for your machine required. Quarter inch foot is helpful. If you need help, please let us know. Tuesdays June 21 & pm with Valerie $25.00 Cabana Mesh Tote This great tote bag is perfect for a beach vacation! It finishes 17 w x 15 h x 4 d and features a mesh insert. Its super sturdy and has 2 outside pockets. Pattern calls for 5 charms but you can cut your own from fat quarters! Rotary cutting experience and pattern purchase required. Wednesdays, June 22 & 29 6:30-8:30 with Mindy $20.00 Charm Sunday Enjoy making this lap size quilt over the course of several classes. You will have time to complete a series of different blocks that when put together result in a spectacular traditional star quilt. It is a good opportunity to use a variety of fabrics from your stash or combine a few coordinating colors to suit your taste. This is a free pattern from Moda Fabrics, but you will need to have two BlocLoc rulers: 4 1/2 square (or larger) BlocLoc ruler and the Flying Geese BlocLoc ruler 2 x 4 finished size. Tuesdays May 24, 31, June 14, 28 6:30-8:30 with Leslie $35.00 Six Months of Jo Join us each month as we make a pattern each time from Jo Morton s new book Jo s Little Favorites. Each month instruction will be given for the block and you ll have a chance to make a block. Hints and tips will be given for block construction, sashings, borders, etc. You ll then have all the information to complete the little quilt on your own! Book purchase required.
