(413) and What you can do before September 24th : September-October 2016 Quilt For A Cure Day September 24, 2016 Thank you so much for helping us raise money for Breast Cancer research! Mystery Quilt Project Interested in giving this a try? You should participate in the Fabric Swap. Purchase your other needed supplies listed on the reverse. Fabric Swap Prepare 10 bags (plastic sandwich bags work great) with four 5 1/2 x 21 strips (full strip cut in half on the fold) 2 each of black and white in each bag. Each bag does not need to have the same fabrics, just 4 different ones in each bag. So this is a great way to use up leftovers! Quilt Shop Quality fabric please. Place these plastic bags in a small shopping bag with handles and your name clearly marked on the outside. Drop this off at Quilts & Treasures by September 19. On Saturday, you will receive 10 different plastic bags in your shopping bag containing hopefully 40 different fabrics. (Duplications do happen!! But it will really be okay!) Block Auction Ever made a quilt block and then decided you didn t like it or changed the fabrics in it? Ever made 13 blocks when you only had to make 12? Search through your unfinished projects and find these loners. Or make some interesting blocks specifically for this auction. What fun we have auctioning them off! Please drop off blocks by September 19. It helps us to have them organized and ready to go!! Silent Auction This year any quilt tops or finished quilts donated will be on display the week before the Quilt For A Cure Day. They will be in a Silent Auction. Current bid price will be posted by each quilt. To make a bid, go to the front desk. ALL proceeds will be donated. Bidding increments of $1.00. Why not make a few blocks of your favorite pattern and finish them into a wall hanging to donate? Please deliver these to the store by Sept 16th. Tell your friends all about this. See if they want to join you for a fun and worthwhile day!!! 2 Class Policies: Sign ups will begin on August 13, 2016 at 10 am You may only sign up two people for each class/event (i.e. yourself & a friend) Class fee must be paid at time of registration. Telephone registrations will be held for one week. Please get supply lists in advance. Most classes require some preparation. Please purchase supplies at our shop. (This helps if there is a cutting oops and you need more fabric!) 10% discount will be given on all fabrics, books, patterns, and notions for class projects. Class credit will be given if we are notified of cancellation at least ONE WEEK in advance. Sorry, NO RE- FUNDS. If class is full, please put your name on waiting list. *Waiting list people will be contacted first if class is repeated at a later time. If you like a class, but cannot make the time it is scheduled, please call to put your name on a waiting list specifying different date. Saturday Classes Log Cabin Do you love log cabin quilts? Do you love the ease and accuracy of a Bloc Loc ruler? Here s your chance to combine the two by using Bloc Loc s newest ruler for making log cabin blocks. You choose one of four log widths and any size block you want!! Then have fun deciding how to sew your blocks together. Come join this class and have a great time. No wonkiness exists here! Classes will include the safe and proper use of the rotary cutter (needed for nearly all quilting projects of today), and achieving a 1/4 inch seam. Beginning Quilting will prepare you for nearly all classes presented at Quilts and Treasures, Inc. We ll be happy to help you choose your fabrics. Class discount on all class supplies. Wednesdays 6:30-8:30pm with Mindy $65.00 Aug 31, Sept 7, 14, 21, 28, Oct 5, 12 Beginning Machine Quilting This introductory class in Machine Quilting will teach you how to use your sewing machine to achieve beautiful results as an alternative to tying your quilts. The class will cover cross hatching, echoing, stippling, and other free motion techniques. Walking foot and darning (stippling) foot for your machine required. Quarter inch foot is helpful. If you need help, please let us know.
