With houses around the perimeter, the center of the quilt uses lot of different fabrics to make the quilt sizzle! TOPSY TURVY MOOSE Mon Nov pm Cost: $25/ pattern required This is the newest pattern from Happy Hollow Designs. If you like all the other Topsy Turvy patterns, then you will love this one too. Wooden antlers accentuate the moose to create a fun wallhanging or tablerunner. 3 MACHINE PRIMER Mon. Oct pm or 6-9pm Cost: $20/book required The first in a series of technique classes to teach you how to free motion quilt on your home machine. We will talk about setting up your workspace, basting, & preparation, plus hands on work. This class helps you to feel at ease with machine quilting. MACHINE CLASSES pg 3 ZENTANGLE Thurs Oct p OR 6-9p Cost: $20/ book required This is a new quilt class. We will explore Zentangle movements and relate them to the quilting process. What is Zentangle? Zentangle is a meditative process of creating art, wherein simple shapes and lines combine to make a complicated & interesting final piece of art. This is fun and stress free! Try it, you ll like it! Breast Cancer Awareness Day Saturday October 18th 10-3pm October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Here at The Quilting Squares we support the efforts to increase awareness of this horrible disease that affect our fellow sisters. Stop in on Saturday October 18th. A percentage of our sales that day will go to a Breast Cancer Research Facility. We will have refreshments, door prizes, & demos. STENCILS & SUCH Wed Nov pm or 6-9pm Cost: $20 Learn how to use stencils, enlarge or reduce them & how to fit them into borders & blocks. We will experiment with different marking systems to help get that quilt done. Can bring a quilt to discuss options, but will not be working on it. JEWELRY TRAVEL BAG Sat. Nov pm Cost: $25/ pattern included A great way to carry your jewelry when you travel. It folds and is tied shut. There are zippers and Karen Bays will guide you through an easy method of putting in a zipper. LET S DOODLE Wed Dec p OR 6-9p Cost: $20 Part of a series of technique classes teaching how to draw leaves, flowers and other designs using your home sewing machine. The class will give you ideas for blocks & borders as well as gaining experience in free motion quilting.
