Beginner Machine Quilting: Level 1 In this class you will cover the basics of several styles of quilting, including meandering. You must have a walking foot and a free motion quilting (darning) foot. Your machine must also be able to drop the feed dogs. This is a hands-on workshop and a fabric kit is included. Sept 22 or Oct 20 or Nov 24 : 9:30 3:00 Cost: $55, no tax, materials included Instructor: Cheryl Beginner Machine Quilting: Level 2 Taking it to the next level. You will be learning how to machine quilt a panel of your choice with skills you have learned from Level 1. You must take level 1 first. Sept 29 or Nov 3 or Dec 1: 9:30 3:00 Cost: $35.00 plus materials Instructor: Cheryl Beginner Hand Applique This is a great class for someone wanting to learn the basics of hand applique. In this class you will make a floral sample block and learn how to mark your fabric, make bias stems, invisible hand stitching, working with the Apliquik tools, thread and needles. 6 Introduction to Hand Embroidery Part 1 With Judy Eckhardt, 2018 Join me to explore the soothing world of hand embroidery. We will study the fabrics, threads, tools, and a number of basic stitches to help you enhance your current sewing projects. From baby bibs and quilts to textile art projects, embroidery can add depth, texture, and intrigue to the final product. This is a skill development course not a project class. You will learn 7 different flower techniques and 7 different leaf techniques, as well as a variety of optional variations. It is recommended that you have taken a basic beginner s class or have experience with the basic stitches.
