Kimberbell Merry & Bright!: Our Kimberbell event is a great way to have fun and get to know machine embroidery. This event is suitable for the beginner all the way to the most advanced embroiderer, you can even test one of our embroidery machines if you don't have one. In this event you will learn: single-hoop embroidery on a ready-made article, multi hooping, piecing in the hoop, how to install a zipper, embroider a quilted design and so much more. During the 2 days you will make and finish 6 embroidery projects all in the hoop. Included with your Kimberbell event, you'll receive an exclusive sewing bag completely filled with Kimberbell fabric, paper tape, ribbon, buttons, and more to make six amazing event projects. We'll even cut the stabilizer for you! You just need to come with your machine and a few basic supplies and be ready to have fun. We will even provide lunch. She has created a spectacular 12 month BOM using Canada themed Fabrics from Cantik Batiks. You can sign up for the kit or kit and class. When you sign up you must sign up for the full year. New! Charmed Adventure: This quilt is a combination of Traditional Paper Piecing and Machine Embroidery. This quilt can be made into several different quilts as it has 8 one block wonders. You will also quilt traditional paper pieced blocks in the hoop and learn piecing in the hoop. Block sizes available are 5", 6", 7", 8", 9". Cake Therapy and Beyond: We have a whole new line up of fun classes and patterns this year for Cake Therapy. If you haven t already attended Cake Therapy, then it s time you did and find out what you are missing. All we are going to tell you is it takes place once a month at both stores and there are NO FEES for these sessions, but there will be cake! And of course laughter, friends, coffee and tea! 3 Quilt Til You Wilt 5. These evenings continue to be very popular! Come in for an evening of Fun and Finishing. Bring in those UFOs and the staff will guide you in finishing them. It s always a lot more fun to work with other quilters. We ll have coffee, tea, and hot chocolate on hand. You can bring your own dinner. Come to one or come to them all. Would you like to spend the day in the company of other quilters, away from the distractions at home? Then you need to sign up for one of our Day Retreats. We will provide a friendly work area, refreshments and even pop in now and then to make sure you are working hard. All you have to do is bring a potluck item/ Bag Lunch and a project(s) you would like to work on. In this class we will use our Embroidery Machine to create an in the hoop bag. To create this bag we will be doing paper piecing and adding a zipper everything done in the hoop. Each one is fully lined, and no raw edges or stabilizer is showing. The pattern includes 3 bags in 4 different sizes. Once you have made one of these bags, you will be hooked and want to make more. Pumpkin Applique Runner: This whimsical runner is ideal for a Thanksgiving table, without the faces, or with the faces if you like Halloween as I do, it is terrific addition to your seasonal decorations. Over two classes students will learn various techniques to complete the runner. Basic quilting and machine applique skills recommended but not required. Stack n Whack: Learn the Stack n Whack technique to make a wonderful pinwheel quilt that looks like a kaleidoscope. Only two fabrics required; a novelty print or any large/medium print, florals can be beautiful, and a background colour, not the background of the print. Date: Surrey: Sat July 8 10:00am 4:00pm + Book $ Beginner Rail Fence: Seven Classes covers all the basics skills for a beginning or someone who wants a refresher course. We start with choosing fabric, cutting and assembling blocks. I teach joining blocks, satin stitch applique, sandwiching, simple machine and hand quilting, and finally binding and labelling. 5 11. Disappearing 9 Patch with a Twist: Combining two of our favourite techniques makes a striking quilt. The method is easy to master and can be modified to fit any size or colour combination. Date: Surrey: Sat July 15 10:00am 4:00pm 12. Tiny Log Cabin: Another sweet little scrap project. I always love a log cabin, and this little cutie can look good on any wall. Use up some lights and darks to show off the pattern. Easy and fun, lots of leftover bits can really work together. Date: Surrey: Mon July 17 1:00pm 4:00pm Fee: $ No Peeky 9 Patch Batik Only: In response to requests, we are going to try the NoPeeky BOP. I ve designed a new setting that takes just 2 colours and I ve chosen 2 high contrast batiks... dark turquoise and light yellow cream. This is our standard, cut all your little 2.5 inch squares ahead and we will mix them up and assemble them in class. You may get as far as setting, but will have directions for finishing the top with the new setting design. Of course you may always choose another setting for your nine patches. Date: Surrey: Sat July 22 10:00am 4:00pm Skill Level: Must have Basic Quilting 14. Mylar Snowflake Wreath: Time to start some Christmas projects and this is a great one to start with. This wreath is created using Kimberbell s Mylar snowflakes set against tulle. In this class we will learn how to make the snowflakes using your Embroidery Machine, Mylar and tulle and also how to put the tulle wreath together. 6 15. A Charming Bag: Have you ever wanted a bag that you can pack your quilts in or to carry all your supplies for a class? If so, join us to make this versatile bag back by popular demand. It is created using charm squares or 5 X 5 squares from your stash and with Soft & Stable as batting that enables the bag to stand nicely. Swirly Whirly Tree: Fusible web appliqué with your choice of outline stitches makes this little wall hanging come together quickly and easily. Lots of choices for a seasonal or themed project. One will be just the start. All machine pieced, this small project will easily fit into a busy summer schedule. It will look great in any dining room or living room. Date: Surrey: Thurs Aug 8 10:00am 2:00pm Fee: $ Snippets Wreath: Let s get a jump on Christmas. This wreath works up quickly and makes a great wallhanging. Fusible web makes it easy to finish and the resulting wreath takes virtually no space to store in between Christmas seasons. 7 19. I Love Santa Pillow: This cute little accent pillow is a simple way to spruce up any space with a little Christmas Cheer. This Class we will be using both Embroidery skills and sew skills to assemble the pillow. This is a real fun project to put together with its ruffles and all. Kimberbell Jingle all the Way Quilt: Jingle All The Way is a patchwork quilt of Christmas surprises with more than a dozen machine embroidered designs and new techniques like chenille trees and traditional quilt blocks. The Embroidery CD includes all the applique designs in the quilt, plus 2 additional sizes for each design! Miniature fringe wreathes and Mylar lights adorn the row of houses and the vinyl applique makes the snow globes appear real. The festive flying geese strips are also pieced-in-hoop! We will be doing so many different techniques all on one quilt. This dimensional quilt has so many cool aspects to you will fall in love with it too! This class is a two day event where we will learn how to do the technique in class and then you will take that knowledge home to finish the rest of the blocks.
