No fat quarters will be cut during the sale. Dear Friends, It is finally warming up outside and the flowers are blooming. We are excited about all the new classes we are having this summer. Rhonda Ray is teaching a Laura Heine collage class. This is a new technique and makes for a stunning wall hanging. We have started to bring in felted wool and now have quite a selection of wool and patterns. Beverly Beldon is teaching a beginning wool mug rug. This is a great way to see if you are interested in wool. This is just a few of the great new classes we are offering. We have also added pictures to our newsletter. Thanks to Xerox small business program we now have a laser printer that allows us to print sharper color pictures. Don't forget the WV Quilters Quilt Festival in Summersville June 21st thru 23rd and the West Virginia Mountain Quilt Quest July 18th thru 21st. 2 EXCITING NEW CLASSES We are happy to be offering several exciting new classes. Many classes require a sewing or embroidery machine; please let us know if you would like to use one of ours. Class fee is due when you register. You can sign up at the store, by phone or . If registering over the phone or , you must have a valid credit card. Receipts and class supply lists will be mailed to you. Full refunds on class fee will be given if you cancel seven days in advance. After that, a 50% refund will be given provided you give us 24 hours notice. If you do not attend a class and we are not given 24 hours' notice, there will be no refund or rescheduling of your class. Classes may be cancelled if Cabell County schools are closed for snow or ice (please call ahead and use your own judgment in inclement weather). If we cancel classes, they will be rescheduled or class fee refunded. Stop by the store to register for your class. Please be considerate of your teacher and fellow classmates who may have allergies refrain from wearing scented lotions and perfumes. Please have your fabric and supplies purchased before the beginning time of your class. This is very important because if you wait until time of your class, you put the instructor and other students behind. Classes Beginning Quilting - If you are someone who has always wanted to learn to quilt, this is the class for you. It is also great for someone who needs a refresher on cutting and piecing techniques. Instructor Eileen Farren. Three sessions: Saturdays June 2nd, 16th and 30th. 10:00-3:00. Class Limit: 4. Class fee: $30.00 Mini Havanna - a collage quilt by Laura Heine. Come learn this great technique that makes your scrap fabric a beautiful piece of art. Instructor: Rhonda Ray 2 sessions: Wednesday's June 20th & 27th 10:00-2:00 and Saturdays July 28th & August 11th. 10:00-2:00. Class Limit: 4 Class fee: $25.00 Blossoms and Spokes - Make this beautiful machine appliqué wall hanging of the hottest decorating item - a bicycle. Class Fee: $25.00 Sweet Lady Liberty our Hand Appliqué class makes a great wall hanging or pillow. It will also fit on the 12" stands. Great beginning class. 3 Hand Quilting - If you have always wanted to learn to hand quilt, this is the class for you. Tammy is an unbelievable hand quilter and a great teacher. This year we will be using pre-printed quilt blocks. They are available at the store. Instructor: Tammy Barnett One session: Thursday August 2nd 5:00-8:00 or Thursday September 6th 5:00-8:00 Cost: $20.00 Class fee includes spool of thread and starter pack of between needles. Class Limit: 6 Free Motion Machine Quilting This has been one of our most popular classes. So come learn the basic techniques by using your regular sewing machine (any manufacturer) to quilt your own quilts/table runners, etc. Instructor: Sandy Sheffield. One Session: Tuesday June 12th 10:00-1:00 or Thursday August 9th 5:00-8:00 Class Fee: $20.00 Class Limit: 6 Slices of Summer - Machine Appliqué. Designed by Kimberbell. Make this summer pillow or table runner to brighten up your summer. Instructor: Eileen Farren. One Session: Friday May 25th 10:00-3:00. Class limit: 4 Class Claire Handbag - Great new purse pattern with lots of pockets on the inside and one on the outside. Instructor: Prudy Pickens. Two Sessions: Fridays June 8th and 15th 10:00-2:00 or One Sessions Saturday August 18th 10:00-2:00. Class Limit: 5 Class Fee $25.00 Metro Rings This has been our most popular class. Make a Wedding Ring quilt using a jelly roll and the Quick Curve Ruler. Two Sessions: Wednesdays June 7th and 14th 5:00-8:00 or Fridays August 17th and 24th 10:00-3:00 Instructor: Lynn Rash Class Fee: $25.00 Class Limit: 4 Autumn Mug Rug - Gorgeous mug rug made entirely from felted wool. Class Fee: $20.00 Scrap Crazy 6 quilt - Make this quilt using the scrap crazy 6 templates. This is just one of the versatile quilts you can make using the templates designed by Karen Montgomery. Class Limit: 5 Class fee: $25.00 Sip & Stitch Every Thursday from 10:00-2:00 This is a great time to meet fellow quilters and work on projects you just can't seem to get to at home. Having problems with a pattern, there is always someone here during Sip & Stitch to help you

5 Embroidery Club Instructor: Sandy Sheffield The Embroidery Club meets once a month to learn new techniques and ideas on machine embroidery. Since the classes have become large, registration is now required to hold your spot. Classes will be limited. Be sure to sign up early so we will have ample time to provide enough kits for some of the projects. The club is held the fourth Tuesday of each month from 10:00-12:30, 1:30 4:00 or from 5:30 8:00. Cost is $10.00 per each class session. Class limit is 6 per session. Please check your supply lists for class or call to make sure you bring everything you need. Please note that Sandy rarely cancels her classes due to the weather. *** If you borrow one of our machines please bring your own hoop and bobbin threads. May 22nd Beach Part 1. Lady at the beach. This appliqué block uses the Thomas Kincade panel for the sky and ocean fabric. Plus it is used to create a pocket which is added to the new pre-made Kimberbell navy tote. It can also be used to make a mug rug. June 26th Beach Part 2. The Beach is calling. This is the second pocket for the Kimberbell tote. It can be sewn on a towel or straight on a tote or shirt. An extra class will be offered to complete your projects from Part 1 & Part 2 July 24th Trapunto. Trapunto is so beautiful and this pillow is no exception! Come and learn how easily it is done. August 21st. (Note date change) Country Pot Holders This requires an Anita Goodesign express CD. We can never have enough Pot Holders and this one is nice for canning season! Making Jam anyone? ****Any machine brand can be used in the Embroidery Club. However, we do not know all the machines, so you need to know how to use your machine. Block of the Month Graphic Gems - Lapis & Emeralds This block of the month uses Primo Batiks and you receive a layer cake each month. Fabric and pattern designed by Sarah Maxwell. There are a few openings left in this Block of the Month.
