5 1. Intrductin IntesisBx MAPS is a Windws cmpatible sftware tl develped specifically t mnitr and cnfigure the IntesisBx BACnet Server series (IntesisBx BACnet Server integrating an External Prtcl). In this dcument, its use and hw t cnfigure the IntesisBx is explained. Fllwing nmenclatures are used in this dcument: External Prtcl: Prtcl that the IntesisBx integrates besides BACnet. i.e: if using the IBOX-BAC-KNX, KNX wuld be the External Prtcl. IntesisBx r gateway: the wrds "gateway" r IntesisBx are used instead f the full prduct name (IntesisBx BACnet/IP Server integrating an External Prtcl). Any ther use f the wrd "gateway" nt meaning that will be specifically indicated. Cnfiguratin Tl: IntesisBx MAPS 2. Installatin The tl is supplied in the shape f a self-extracting setup utility. Supprted perating systems are Windws 7 and nwards versins f the Windws OS. The cnfiguratin tl can be dwnladed frm: The web brwser will ask fr saving the file. Select Save File and wait fr the file t dwnlad. 6 3. Welcme page After starting the IntesisBx MAPS, by clicking its prgram entry under Windws Start menu (r any ther established link), the welcme page will prmpt. This windw is used t shw general infrmatin, latest news and the prject management and creatin. All this sectins are explained in the detail in the fllwing sectins. Figure 3.1 Welcme page 3.1 News This link prvides access t the welcme page t check the latest news related t the IntesisBx gateways and MAPS cnfiguratin tl. Use this sectin t get the latest infrmatin related with ur prducts. 3.2 Create New Prject Create a new prject frm an existing template. In rder t start a specific integratin prject, simply select ne f the available templates frm the list. Nte: The template is an example f an integratin and may be used under this scpe. Depending n the type f integratin, sme parameters may nt be left as by default and shall be mdified. Please check yur IntesisBx gateway user manual fr mre infrmatin n sme f the specific parameters cnfiguratin. Click n the BACnet lg t list all available prject templates fr the BACnet Server gateway series. 6 / 56

7 Make sure that yu select the right template accrding t the external prtcl f the gateway. Figure 3.2 Prject template selectin 3.3 Lad Prject Lad an already existing prject t the cnfiguratin tl. In rder t imprt an existing prject already prgrammed, use the Lad Prject ptin and select the prject frm the PC r external strage device where the prject is stred. Figure 3.3 Prject selectin windw After selectin, the prject will be laded and cnfiguratin can be started as if using a brand-new prject, but with all previus wrk in the prject present. 7 / 56

8 3.4 Get Prject frm Device Use this functin t dwnlad the current cnfiguratin running in the gateway and t imprt it t the cnfiguratin tl. Ntice that cnnectin frm the cnfiguratin tl t the gateway is required. Depending n yur firewall cnfiguratin, a warning message like the ne belw may appear: Figure 3.4 Firewall warning message After that, the tl will ask yu where t dwnlad the prject. Please select the lcatin and press the save buttn. 3.5 Recent In this sectin, the last edited prjects in this installatin will be shwn. It can be used fr fast checking f the last prjects updated. 3.6 Imprt Prject frm LinkBx This special functin allws the use f ld LinkBx prjects n the cnfiguratin tl. T imprt the prject, simply select the flder and click n the Select Flder buttn. 8 / 56

9 4. Navigatin T wrk with the cnfiguratin tl, the menu and the tl bar (Figure 4.1) need t be used. In the fllwing lines a brief explanatin and links t the crrespnding sectins can be fund. Check sectin 3 fr mre infrmatin. 4.2 Prject This ptin let the user apply basic functins t the prject, such as create new prjects, lad an already existing prject, save the prject and clse the cnfiguratin tl. Figure 4.2 Prject ptins New prject: Mves back t the Welcme page and let yu select a new prject. Lad: Opens a selectin windw t pick up the prject yu wanted t lad. Save: Saves the current prject changes in the same file. If it is the first time, it will ask fr the prject lcatin. Otherwise, it will autmatically update the current prject file. Save As: Saves the current prject int a different lcatin r with a different name frm the current ne. Clse: Clses the cnfiguratin tl. 9 / 56

10 4.3 Tls This ptin prvides access t language settings and Gateway firmware update. Figure 4.3 Tls ptins Language: This ptin allws the user t select ne f the available languages. Once the language is selected, yu need t rebt the sftware fr the new language cnfiguratin t be applied. Figure 4.4 Language selectin Firmware: By default, infrmatin shwn is nly the ne cming frm the current gateway status. In case the user is interested in checking fr new firmware updates, the Check fr Update buttn needs t be pressed. In case there is any update available, a summary fr the new update infrmatin will be shwn in the Firmware Update Infrmatin side f the windw. If the user is interested, the send buttn shuld be pressed t update the bx. IMPORTANT: Please ntice that the firmware update prcess shall nt be interrupted. Make sure that yu g fr the update prcess while in a safe lcatin (n risk f pwer blackuts r similar). NOTE: If the Gateway is already wrking as expected, the update may nt be advisable. Please, make sure that yu update the gateway nly when required. 10 / 56

12 Check fr Updates Peridically, new free versins f Cnfiguratin Tl are released. Thse new releases include imprvements, fixes, supprt fr new firmware versins f IntesisBx r supprt fr newer IntesisBx prducts. This ptin autmatically checks if there is any newer versin and in case it exists, it ffers the pssibility t dwnlad and update the sftware. Ntice that this requires Internet cnnectin. 4.5 Fter In the fter, relevant infrmatin abut the cnnectin status and prtcls used can be fund. External Prtcl: It indicates the current External Prtcl (it will depend n the specific Gateway mdel. Date: Current time and date. 13 5. Cnnectin In this sectin, it is detailed hw t set the cmmunicatin and mnitr the IntesisBx. Figure 5.1 Cnnectin sectin There are tw different ways f cmmunicating the Cnfiguratin Tl with the IntesisBx (check the Cnnectin sectin in yur IntesisBx User Manual): using the USB prt r the Ethernet netwrk. In the fllwing lines the cnfiguratin f bth is explained as well as the functinalities f the Cnfiguratin Tl when cnnected r nt. When there is n cnnectin with the IntesisBx, IntesisBx MAPS allws the creatin and editin f cnfiguratin prjects. That includes setting the linked signals, prtcl parameters When the Cnfiguratin Tl is cnnected t the IntesisBx, it can perfrm ther functinalities such as mnitring the cmmunicatin and sending the cnfiguratin files t the device (sectins 9.4 and 8.1 respectively). 5.1 IP cnnectin If cnnectin with the Gateway shall be dne by Ethernet IP netwrk, select IP as the cnnectin mde. The sftware will autmatically scan the current netwrk where the PC is cnnected lking fr IntesisBx gateways. Figure 5.2 IP cnnectin 13 / 56

14 In the Discvered Devices list, all gateways fund will be listed. In black, gateways that match the current prject selected. In red, gateways that d nt match the current prject selected. If n gateways are shwn, please check yur netwrk cnnectin parameters and make sure that the gateway is pwered and cnnected. Ntice that relevant infrmatin can be checked by clicking n each gateway (Figure 5.3). Once the device is selected, cnnectin will be started by pressing the cnnect buttn bttm left crner, r clicking n the Cnnect buttn., n the Figure 5.3 IP cnnectin If cnnectin has been successful, the fter will turn frm red t any ther clr prmpting the current IP f the gateway where the cnfiguratin tl is cnnected t. T discnnect, simply click n the cnnect buttn again. IMPORTANT: Ntice that if cnnecting thrugh IP, a passwrd is required. By default, the passwrd is admin. Find mre infrmatin n hw t change the passwrd n sectin 6. NOTE: By default, the gateway is ffered with DHCP enabled. If yu want t change this setting, please check sectin USB cnnectin If Ethernet IP cnnectin is nt pssible r if USB is preferred, select USB prt in the Cnnectin Mde. A list f available COM prts n the PC will be listed. Select the COM prt where the USB cable is cnnected. 14 / 56

16 6. Cnfiguratin In this sectin, main cnfiguratin parameters fr the gateway and bth, internal and external prtcls, can be mdified t match the prject requirements. Figure 6.1 Cnfiguratin 6.1 General In the general sectin, all ptins related t generic gateway parameters can be defined. Figure 6.2 General cnfiguratin 1. Gateway name Name f device. It can be mdified by the user t simplify its identificatin inside the prject. This name is nt related t neither the external r internal prtcl. 2. Prject descriptin Shrt descriptin f the prject. It can be mdified by the user t simplify its identificatin inside the prject. This name is nt related t neither the external r internal prtcl. 16 / 56

17 3. IP 1 IP address assciated t the gateway. It can be mdified by the user t match the prject requirements. This IP will be the same ne t be used n the BACnet/IP side in case f using BACnet/IP cmmunicatin. 4. Netmask 1 Netwrk mask t be applied n the IP cmmunicatin. It can be mdified by the user t match the prject requirements. This netmask will be the same ne t be used n the BACnet/IP side in case f using BACnet/IP cmmunicatin. 5. Gateway 1 Default gateway t be applied n the IP cmmunicatin. It can be mdified by the user t match the prject requirements. This default gateway will be the same ne t be used n the BACnet/IP side in case f using BACnet/IP cmmunicatin. 6. Passwrd This is the passwrd t allw cnnectin t the Gateway when using IP cnnectin (see sectin 5.1). By default, the passwrd is set as admin, but can be mdified by the user at any time. In rder t change the passwrd, simply set the desired passwrd in this field and dwnlad the cnfiguratin t the Gateway. Yu can find mre infrmatin n hw t dwnlad the cnfiguratin in sectin 8.1. IMPORTANT: Please, in case f changing the default passwrd, please keep it psted r nted in a safe place t be used in the future. 7. Cnversins In this sectin, different cnversins can be defined n the MAPS s values frm the Internal t the External prtcl r vice versa can be mdified t help the integratr matching the prject requirements. Figure 6.3 Cnversins 1 This setting des nt apply if the Enable DHCP ptin is selected. In that case, this parameter will be autmatically set by the DHCP server. 17 / 56

18 6.2 BACnet Server In the BACnet Server sectin, all parameters related t the BACnet side can be cnfigured Standard Cnfiguratin Figure 6.4 Menu and buttn Bar 1. Device Name This stands fr the BACnet Device Name prperty. It can be mdified by the user using the cnfiguratin tl and frm BACnet itself. 2. Device Instance This stands fr the BACnet Device Object Instance prperty related t this specific device. It is a unique ID fr the BACnet device inside f a single BACnet netwrk segment. 3. Passwrd Passwrd required by sme BACnet cmmands t be allwed. This needs t be check alng with the BMS integratr. If nt required r nt sure, it can be left as default (admin). 4. Mde Select the type f BACnet cmmunicatin t be used: BACnet/IP r BACnet MSTP. a. BACnet/IP i. UDP Prt Select the UDP prt fr the BACnet/IP cmmunicatins. By default, it Is set t (BAC0 in HEX ntatin). ii. Netwrk Rle Define hw the gateway will act regarding netwrk elements. 18 / 56

19 IMPORTANT: If nt familiar with this ptins, please left the parameter as Disabled t avid issues n the BACnet cmmunicatin. Disabled: The gateway will nt prvide any special service regarding netwrk cmmunicatin r settings. Freign Device: The gateway will act as a freign device frm the BACnet netwrk pint f view. Masters Define the maximum number f BACnet MSTP masters supprted ii. Max. Inf Frames Define the maximum number f Inf frames. iii. Baud Rate Select the BACnet MSTP cmmunicatin speed. Pssible values are: Aut iv. MAC address Define the gateway MAC address fr BACnet MSTP cmmunicatin. 19 / 56

20 6.2.2 Advanced Cnfiguratin Once the Advanced cnfiguratin is activated, the user will have access t BACnet advanced settings. Figure 6.7 Advanced settings selectin NOTE: If yu are nt familiar with these functins, please d nt use them as it may cause prblems in the BACnet cmmunicatin/cnfiguratin Ntificatin Class In this sectin, Ntificatin Classes can be created and cnfigured. Recipient List Up t 8 different BACnet Destinatins can be created. Fr each destinatin, the fllwing parameters can be mdified: a) Destinatin name Descriptive name fr the BACnet Destinatin b) Transitins Select which transitins will frce the ntificatin class t be active: Off_nrmal: When status changes frm Off t nrmal. Fault: When status changes t fault. Nrmal: When status changes frm fault t nrmal. c) Recipient Type Select the type f recipient frm: Device: The recipient is a device. The Device Instance Number fr this device needs t be selected in the Instance Number text bx. Address: The recipient is set using the specific address n BACnet/IP. Address (MSTP): The recipient is set using the specific address n BACnet MSTP. d) Advanced Optins Active Days: Select the days when the Ntificatin Class will be available fr the specific recipient BACnet destinatin. 21 / 56

22 Frm: Defines the starting time fr the Ntificatins Class t be available during the day. T: Defines the end time fr the Ntificatins Class t be available during the day. Issue Cnfirmed Ntificatins 4. Advanced In this sectin, ACK fr different transitins can be set as required and the pririty f this transitins ACK t. Values fr pririty in this case may vary frm 0 t Binary Text Cnfiguratin Use this advanced setting sectin t cnfigure the Active and Inactive text fr the Binary bjects. In this sectin the user is nly creating the different available pairs fr texts. Check sectin 0 fr mre infrmatin n hw t apply this t a specific Binary Object. Up t 100 pairs f states can be cnfigured. Tl Cnfiguratin Use this sectin t create a secndary mapping fr the states t create custm cnversins between the BACnet states received and the values that the gateway will transmit t the external prtcl. Up t 100 State Text Lists can be cnfigured with a maximum f 100 elements (status) per State Text List Calendars In this sectin, the user will be able t create calendars t be applied n the BACnet side. Up t 10 calendars can be created. Figure 6.11 State Text Manager Fr each calendar, the fllwing parameters can be cnfigured: 1. Calendar Name Determines the name fr the calendar. 2. Calendar Instance Sets the BACnet Object Instance fr this specific calendar. 3. Calendar Entries Determines the number f calendar entries (patterns). Up t 32 different entries can be created per each calendar. 4. Rules Fr each entry, different rules can be applied. Cnfiguratin fr these rules can be dne using either Date, Date Range r Week N Day. a. Date: The rule is related nly t a specific date. 23 / 56

25 Schedules In this sectin, all cnfiguratin related with BACnet schedules can be dne. Up t 10 schedules can be created. Figure 6.15 Schedules main view 1. Main Main cnfiguratin fr the schedule including: a. Name Schedule name b. Schedule Instance BACnet Object Instance fr this specific schedule c. Schedule Type Type f bjects t apply n the schedule (Analg, Binary r Multistate). Multiple types cannt be selected. d. Pririty BACnet pririty t be set n this schedule. By default, it is set t 16. e. Default value Default value t be applied n this schedule f. Effective Perid Determine the perid where the schedule applies. 25 / 56

26 2. Objects Selectin f BACnet bjects t be included in a specific schedule. 28 Trend Lgs In this sectin, all trend lgs related cnfiguratin can be carried ut. Up t 5 Trend Lgs can be created. 1. Name Name fr the Trend Lg Figure 6.20 Trend Lgs 2. Trend Lg Instance BACnet Object Instance fr the specific Trend Lg 3. Trend Mde Selectin f the type f Trend mde t be used: a. Plled The pll cadence fr this needs t be set in the Interval parameter b. COV The COV increment t be cnsidered needs t be set in the COV Increment parameter c. Triggered It will be triggered by the BACnet BMS system 4. Interval It will nly apply if Trend Mde Plled is selected. 5. COV Increment It will nly apply if Trend Mde COV is selected. 6. Prperties Extra prperties can be defined: a. Enable It allws enabling r disabling the specific Trend Lg even if the Trend Lg is in the valid time range. 28 / 56

29 b. Stp Buffer Full If enabled, it will stp the Trend Lg when the buffer is full. If disabled, it will rll up the Trend Lg infrmatin keeping the last 2880 valid values. 7. Date Cnfiguratin Set the perid when Trend Lgs will be active. It can be set as always r in a time frame r range 8. Selected Objects Selectin f bjects t be included inside a Trend Lg. Up t 10 different BACnet Objects can be selected. 6.3 External prtcl Please, check the Annex sectin and yur Gateway User Manual fr mre infrmatin n the specific cnfiguratin f the external prtcl parameters. 29 / 56

30 7. Signals In this sectin, the main cnfiguratin fr the signals n bth external and internal prtcls will be set. Figure 7.1 Default view 7.1 Extra functins Find belw a list f extra functins r tls available in the Signals view Aut BACname This ptin generates the BACnet Object Name fr each signal autmatically. It uses the fllwing frmat t create this name autmatically: BACnetObjectType_BACnetObjectInstance_Custm_Name Ex: BI_0_ONOFF BACnet Object Name => ONOFF BACnet Object Instance => 0 BACnet Object Type => Binary Input Aut BACInst. Generates autmatically all BACnet Object Instances t grant a unique identifier. 30 / 56

31 7.1.3 Edit Clumns It shws/hides clumns n the Signal table t help the integratin tasks. Figure 7.2 Edit Clumns view Imprt Imprt previus exprted Excel files t the prject. This can be useful in case yu want t manage sme special cnfiguratin n Excel t speed up the signals list creatin. Ntice that this will need t be used in very few scenaris as the Cnfiguratin Tl already ffers lts f ptins and tips t create the signal s table in a fast and easy way. Ntice that there are tw Imprt ptins: Replace and Add Signals. Replace: This will replace (verwrite) current signals in the Signal table. Add Signals: This will add the imprted signals t the Signal table withut replacing the current nes. 31 / 56

32 7.1.5 Exprt This functin will allw tw different types f exprtatins: Excel and EDE. Excel: This will exprt the Signal table int Excel frmat t allw extra manipulatin r cnsultatin frm Excel. This may be helpful t share integratin infrmatin with ther integratrs that d nt have the Cnfiguratin Tl. EDE: This will exprt BACnet infrmatin int an EDE file frmat. This is useful t share BACnet infrmatin with the BACnet BMS integratr t speed up the integratin time Fnt size It changes the fnt size t help n the visualizatin. It is a tggle functin: n each click it will change frm big t small and vice versa Mve Up/Dwn It mves ne rw Up r Dwn the selected signal inside the Signal table n each click Add Multiple Rws It adds new signals t the Signal table. The number f new signals can be selected in the text bx Delete Rws It deletes the selected rws. If it is required t erase mre than ne signal (rw), select them previusly and then press the Delet Rws buttn t erase all selected rws Check Table This ptins verifies that the current cnfiguratin in the Signal Table is OK frm a theretical pint f view. That means that this check will nt include integratin issues related t bad addresses, mistakes r cnfusins f the integratrs infrmatin. It will nly check that the standard defined cnditins and prperties are fulfilled. 32 / 56

33 7.2 Signals cnfiguratin Next, there is the descriptin fr cmmn and BACnet specific parameters t be cnfigured n each signal. 1. Active If selected, the signal will be cnsidered in the cnfiguratin and will be dwnladed t the Gateway as active. 2. Name BACnet Object Name t be applied t the signal 3. Type It can be selected depending n the different BACnet Object Types AI: Analg Input AO: Analg Output AV: Analg Value BI: Binary Input BO: Binary Output BV: Binary Value MI: Multistate Input MO: Multistate Output MV: Multistate Value 4. Instance BACnet Object Instance. 5. Units If required, units fr this signal can be defined (ºC, Kg, kw ) 6. NC 33 / 56

State Text Fr Multistate Objects, it is used t select which State Text List frm the nes defined in sectin will be used.
