7 Basic Operatin Select Mde The setting indicates the temperature the rm has t reach befre the furnace will turn n t heat the rm. With each successive push f the Override buttn, the verride timer will add 30 minutes, until the maximum f 4 hurs is reached. Then the next press will zer ut the verride timer, returning t unccupied if there are n further buttn presses. When in Override, the Override icn and the Occupied 1 icn appear n the display. The time f day clck alternates with the time remaining in verride. During Override, the setpints are adjustable, prvided the keypad is nt lcked. Page 7

9 Light Activatin Operatin A light sensr is prvided n the thermstat fr light activatin. The thermstat must be in the Prgram On mde fr light activatin t wrk. When the sensr detects light the thermstat enters the Occupied 1 time perid and will heat r cl accrding t the Occupied 1 setpints. If the rm is dark the thermstat will fllw its prgrammed schedule. Since light will put the thermstat int Occupied 1, and darkness will release the thermstat t fllw its prgrammed schedule, it is recmmended t turn OFF Occupied 1 in the time perid prgramming, see page 10. If Occupied 1 is turned OFF, then when the rm is dark the thermstat will enter Unccupied energy savings settings. Occupied 2 r 3 may be used as a pre-cl r pre-heat perid in cnjunctin with light activatin. Fr example: An ffice that is usually ccupied 9:00am - 5:00pm, Mnday thrugh Friday. Occupied 2 can be set 8:30am - 9:00am Mnday thrugh Friday with cmfrt setpints. If n ne turns the lights n by 9:00am then the thermstat will enter the Unccupied time perid and prvide energy savings. Occupied 1 has pririty ver Occupied 2, which has pririty ver Occupied 3. This allws Occupied 2 t run in the backgrund, and when the lights are n, Occupied 1 setpints takever. This added flexibility allws, fr example, Occupied 2 t be prgrammed in the ffice envirnment t run Mnday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. The setpints can be set t allw fr energy savings shrt f Unccupied settings. If the lights g ff during the wrkday, such as lunchtime, when returning, the recvery wuld be shrter. The Occupied 1 will flash if the light sensr is cause f the thermstat t be in Occupied 1. Page 8

PROGRAMMING NOTES N We C Py If N is selected: If nly 1 Occupied perid is selected in step 1 n page 9, Occupied 2 & 3 prgramming steps are skipped. Further, if nly 2 ccupieds are selected, Occupied 3 prgramming steps are skipped. Heat & Cl setpints fr Occupied 1 are the same fr every day f the week. Heat & Cl setpints fr Occupied 2 & 3 can be adjusted differently fr each day f the week, if desired. If the start time is set later in the day than the stp time, the prgram will run frm the start time t midnight and frm midnight t the stp time n the same day. Fr example: 9:00pm start, 8:00am stp, n Mnday. In this example the prgram will run frm 12:00am Mnday t 8:00am Mnday and again frm 9:00pm Mnday t 12:00pm Mnday. The Unccupied settings take effect at all times when: (1) the prgram is n and (2) the current time is utside a preset ccupied perid. Fr this reasn start and stp times aren t necessary fr unccupied. If the same start and stp times are prgrammed in fr an ccupied perid, then it will run 24 hurs. If ne ccupied perid starts and stps within anther ccupied perid the lwer ccupied # has pririty. Fr example: If Occupied 3 is prgrammed t be n 24 hurs, and Occupied 2 is prgrammed t run that day, then Occupied 2 settings will take ver frm ccupied 3 between Occupied 2 start and stp times. 14 Advanced OVERRIDE the Mde buttn. While hlding the Mde, press the Override buttn fr 5 secnds t enter screens. NOTE: Each step # is lcated at the tp right crner f the display fr easy reference. Steps 1 & 2 are accessed by pressing Set Clck. 18 Abut Advanced Features & Operatin CLOCK BACKUP - In the event f a pwer lss, the thermstat internal clck will cntinue t keep prper time fr a minimum f 48 hurs withut external pwer r batteries. 2 STAGE OPERATION - The 2nd Stage f heat r cl is turned n when (1) the 1st Stage has been n fr a minimum f tw minutes, and (2) the temperature spread frm the setpint is equal t r greater than: the setpint plus the deadband, plus 2 degrees. ENERGY SAVING SMART FAN - If Fan On is selected, the fan will run cntinuusly at all times, except in Off, and will nly run if there is a heating r cling demand in Unccupied perids. OVERRIDE - As explained n page 7, pressing the Override buttn during a prgrammed, Unccupied perid will frce the thermstat int Occupied 1, temprarily, up t 4 hurs. If the Override buttn is pressed during an Occupied perid, the thermstat will be frced int Unccupied and the ccupied # (1,2 r 3), it was frced ut f will be turned ff, nly fr that day. During Override perids the setpints may be adjusted, but they will nt be remembered after Override ends. Page 17

19 Abut Advanced Features & Operatin EMERGENCY - T turn n Emergency Heat press in the Override buttn. While hlding the Override buttn press the Up buttn fr 2 secnds. The Cl setpint display will read EH. fr Emergency Heat OVERRIDE I2:00 M Am 73 eh 74 During Emergency Heat the thermstat will turn n the fan and the 2nd stage f heat, when there is a demand fr heat, lcking ut the 1st stage cmpressr. Exiting Emergency Heat is the same as entering. During Emergency Heat nly OFF and are available. Page 18

While hlding the Mde buttn in, press the Up and Dwn buttns in tgether. 21 Abut Advanced Features & Operatin HOLIDAY - This feature frces the thermstat int Unccupied fr a preset duratin, up t 99 days. The Hliday setup display is entered as fllws: 1 HOLIDAY the Hliday buttn. The first step n the display prmpts fr maximum number f Occupied perids. Ignre this prmpt and press the Override buttn. hl 0 When active the display cunts dwn remaining days blinking. Unccupied als appears. 2 the Up r Dwn buttns t select the number f days the thermstat will be in Hliday mde. 0 = Off. T exit Hliday setup, press the Mde buttn. The thermstat will enter the Hliday mde when the clck crsses midnight. During Hliday mde Unccupied setpints are enfrced. The Override buttn is active during Hliday mde. It will verride t Occupied 1 settings up t 4 hurs then return t Hliday mde. The Dry Cntact Switch is ignred. The thermstat will exit Hliday mde at midnight f the final prgrammed day. T terminate Hliday immediately, enter the Hliday setup screen and select 0. Page 20

22 Abut Advanced Features & Operatin DUAL SETPOINT BEHAVIOR - The adjustable setpint range is: degrees in Fahrenheit and 7-35 degrees in Centigrade. When in the mdes Heat r Cl, this adjustable range is unhampered. When adjusting any Aut mde, including prgramming Occupied and Unccupied perids, the thermstat will nt allw the Heat setpint t get clser t the Cl setpint than the value prgrammed as the minimum difference in step 6, page 13. When entering the Aut mde frm Cl, the Heat and Cl setpints will remain spread apart by the amunt that they were adjusted, prir t entering Aut. Fr example: If the Cl setpint was set t 80 while in the Cl mde and the Heat setpint was adjusted t 70 while in the Heat mde, upn entering the Aut mde the Heat and Cl setpints wuld be 80 and 70. Bth setpints wuld then mve up and dwn tgether, (in this example spread by 10 degrees), by pressing the up r dwn buttns. T mve the Heat and Cl setpints clser tgether, enter the Cl r Heat mde by pressing the Mde buttn, then adjust the setpint(s) clser tgether. Heat is limited t hw clse it can cme t Cl by step 6, page 13. FACTORY DEFAULTS - If, fr any reasn it is desirable t return all stred settings back t the factry default settings, press the Mde buttn. While hlding the Mde buttn in, press the Fan buttn fr 5 sec. All icns will appear. and hld in the Fan buttn until Fd appears. This resets all factry settings. T return t nrmal peratin, press the Mde buttn twice mre. Page 21
