As more depth detections ticks in, the map is recacuated, and new mapped seabed formations continuousy appears on the screen. The charting process is fuy automatic and require no manua operation. It can even be produced in reaistic 3D, visuaized through a virtua camera. The virtua 3D camera can be moved around the seabed map by mouse contro, or connect to own ship. The bottom zoom function uses coours to highight seected depth areas. Every measured point in the seabed map is marked with yeow or purpe "boxes" which can be switched on to check the density of the survey, or be used as an unofficia hep in navigation. 3

A functions and features are readiy avaiabe from visibe menus. Zooming and chart rotation are easiy done by use of the mouse. Each user can customize his own chart dispay by switching on or off: Depths and eevations, ight sectors, names and other information. Easy route panning with autopiot interface, and cear chart dispay with fast zooming and movement. Oex can use officia ENC's and unofficia vector charts in S57, shape and SOSI format from severa vendors. The charts can be obtained from any chart deaer, and are easiy instaed on the Oex. For interface against AIS, Oex can be amended with additiona AIS software. A vesses with AIS and within radio range wi then appear on the Oex screen, dispayed as trianguar boat symbos with names or MMSI numbers. It is even possibe to send and receive seafoor data between vesses via AIS. Traw positioning Oex can interface with traw positioning systems ike Simrad ITI og Geonet Ixsea. The traw is visuaized in 2D and 3D with distance, bearing, tracking and door spread. Same software modue can be used for ROV tracking (with Simrad's HPR and HiPAP). Ocean currents The SB modue makes the Oex abe to cacuate and map ocean currents, by anayzing messages from GPS, heading and water speed sensor. Seafoor discrimination Some echosounders can detect the seabed's abiity to refect sound. Oex with additiona modue HT can, by processing data from these sounders, determine reative hardness of the seafoor. The cacuated hardness vaues is integrated in the seafoor map together with the topographic depth vaues, and dispay on the screen in coours and percentage vaues. Mutibeam data Trips and routes A past trips are automaticay stored, chronoogicay numbered and marked with date and time. Any trip can be recaed and converted into a new route. New routes can aso be drawn manuay by dragging and dropping marks into the map, and then adjust by using the mouse. Night dispay A sweep with the mouse pointer over the sun symbo in the upper right corner wi revea functions for brightness dimming and night dispay. The Oex night dispay is a darker chart image with focus on own ship, beacons, AIS- and radar-targets. 6 With MBES additiona software Oex can receive and process data from Kongsberg EM series mutibeam sonar. The WASSP software modue is designed to process data from WASSP mutibeam sonars. High resoution singe beam mapping The HGPS software modue uses enhanced position and height, from advanced GPS receivers, to pace each bottom detection exacty in the seafoor map. HGPS aso eiminates the effect from tide, seawaves and vesse depth in water. This makes it possibe to perform exact and repeatabe seabed survey, and produce high resoution seafoor maps, using singe beam echosuonders. 7

Tripos is our GPS based system for exact position and attitude. Designed for high resoution mutibeam survey, a we mounted Tripos can provide accuracy as good as 0,02 degrees in ro, pitch and heading, in addition to exact position and height. Tripos wi aso work we together with our HGPS - high resoution singe beam mapping. Oex GP9205-3D GPS, combines GPS and GLONASS with the Marinestar service from Fugro. The enhanced vertica and horizonta position makes it very we suited for mutibeam survey. GP9205 can even be used with norma Oex, to ensure exact and repeatabe charting of the seabed topography.
