2 BEGINNING SEWING BEGINNING SEWING WITH HOME DECOR This class is an introduction to basic sewing with an emphasis on Home Décor sewing. You will learn basic sewing skills such as reading pattern instructions, laying out pattern pieces, inserting a zipper, making and inserting cording and making buttonholes. Class project is three different decorator pillows. Four Sessions; 4 1/2 hours each. Half-hour break for lunch. INSTRUCTION FEE: $ Pattern included in class fee. Tims recommends that each Convergence Quilt be thought of as a Mystery Quilt - no rules, just guidelines. Whatever you call it, the Convergence Quilt is exciting and fun. Two Sessions; 4 hours each. 3 PIECING IN THE HOOP CLASSES You can use your embroidery machine to make a quick and easy pieced quilt block one each month. You will learn how the blocks were created in My Block Piecer. No software necessary for class. At the end of twelve months you will have enough blocks to make a whole quilt. You may use batiks, patterned and solid color quilt fabrics to create a quilt with or without sashing. FEE: MONDAY, MARCH 6, 10:00AM - 2:00PM OR THURSDAY, APRIL 6, 10:00AM - 2:00PM BROTHER/BABYLOCK BRIDGING STITCH TABLE RUNNER Baby lock s new bridging plates (which fit most Baby locks and Brothers) make the bridging stitch so easy! A bridging stitch is used to join two pieces of fabric with a decorative stitch. The bridging plate leaves a space so that part of the stitch has no fabric under it. This technique is much easier than it looks! Come learn how. The project is a table runner. One Session; 3 Hours. 4 EMBROIDERY CLASSES EDGE TO EDGE QUILTING Can you quilt with your embroidery machine? Yes, you can. Come learn the edge to edge quilting techniques from the book Edge to Edge Quilting on your Embroidery Machine. You ll learn to use templates to create edge to edge quilting with no gaps to create a project completely quilted on your embroidery machine. The quilted fabric will be used to create a tote bag. Open up those design packs and get embroidering. Let s stitch on paper! The Toile De Jouy Collection consists of 17 elegant scenes that are all stitched in one single step! You will find numerous scenes ranging from flowers, birds and guitars. All designs can be stitched on most any fabric. What appealed to me was they could be stitched on paper layered over card stock. Today, this embroidery is prized for its historic and classic appeal. Fortunately, we can reproduce this embroidery technique quickly and easily on our machines. They make great gifts if you can bear to part with them. The mug rugs are stitched completely in the hoop. A quick turn and press and it is done! In class we will stitch out the Spring-themed mug rug. As a bonus, a winter themed mug rug will be included. One Session; 3 hours. Even though it may be dominated by squares or triangles, a mandala has a concentric structure. The design is said to absorb the mind in such a way that chattering thoughts cease, and a spiritual essence envelopes the observer. Want to put this theory to a test? Join us for this experiment.
