2 Summer 2016 Class Schedule Babylock Destiny: Continuous Designs In this Destiny class we will learn how easy it is to connect patterns by re-hooping our design and embroidering another one. You will all leave with a free embroidery design so you can go home and practice. Beginner Machine Embroidery Thursday, June 2, OR Thursday, August 4, $20 / Instructed by Diane Linhart Learn all of the basics of sewing in this fun, simple class. Take the stress away from teaching yourself. This 12-hour class starts at the beginning, where you will learn about fabrics and thread, how to thread your machine, and basic terminology. By the end of the sessions, you will be comfortable at your machine and have a nice pair of pajamas too! Supplies are required. Spend Fridays with Diane and sew your own Anita Gooddesign projects. We started with the new Four Seasons Tile Scene project by Anita Gooddesign so you will learn the techniques AND finish the project! Once a month we will embroider until the project is done. Join Diane as she pulls apart designs from Apricot Blush,, a Hatched in Africa design collection. Make these designs your own. You will learn how to edit designs, encore, resize and even incorporate some designs right from your software! You can build these designs in a 200mm x 200mm Hoop. In this team sewing class we will go over editing different type stitches, balancing the stitches, changing the size, length, mirror image both vertical or horizontal, stitch density, repeating patterns, and combining stitch patterns. Baby lock Inspiration Guide required. Beginner Sewing Tru3 / 6D Editing 101 In this exercise you will learn to use the Modify features to create new embroideries from designs included with the embroidery software. 9 Premier+ Longstitch Leaves We are going to create a large decorative design using long stitches and nine passes of thread for each stitch. Dare to learn how to create this design with no jump stitches! This look will emulate handwork using very little work of your own. 11 Quick Serger Quilt Basic Serger techniques make this versatile quilt easy to piece and construct. Once the blocks are pieced together from strips and the center panel is completed the borders are added using your Serger. Finishing and binding can also be completed with a Serger if you choose. Pick colors and fabrics to work with any décor. We often forget the simple elegance of quilting; the stitching that holds the three layers together. During this class we will use some simple steps to create a whole cloth quilt for you to quilt. You can choose to hand quilt, machine quilt or use the Sashiko embellisher to quilt your piece. Edge finishing with binding will also be covered.
