We are blessed with many wonderfully, talented teachers who are knowledgeable as well as patient. Whether your interest be Embroidery, Serging, Quilting or Fashion...we do it all!!! Quilting classes Our classes are small to allow for the help you will need and you will quickly gain confidence and skill in this wonderful pasttime. Our Serger classes will develop your skill and confidence and you will quickly become addicted to serging as you can make a garment in just a few hours. Especially, with a BabyLock serger that is self-threading and NO tensions to adjust! We have fashion classes as well as creative projects that really explore this multi-faceted serger. Embroidery is a big part of our store. We are a Dealer for Anita Good Designs which offers a fantastic range of high quality embroidery designs. Quilting can be done on an Embroidery machine. Each block is done in the hoop and is then stitched together. Our samples will amaze you. Our wonderful team of teachers are all excellent in their field. They strive to create an environment that's not only fun but also conducive to helping you gain both skill and confidence in your sewing projects. Immediate registration is required to reserve your space. Refunds or credits are given with a 2 week notice. 2 BASIC T-SHIRT -V8151 view B Thurs. Sept. 22nd & 29th 11:00am-2:00pm $60.00 SERGER CLASSES This is a great class to develop a stylish top that can go anywhere. We are featuring our beautiful cotton knits from Art Gallery. Cotton is so comfortable to wear as well as easy to work with. Scoop neckline and three quarter sleeves with nice finishing details. Darts are also included in this pattern to allow for a great fit over the bust.this is a Sandra Betzina pattern and is designed to fit the woman of today. A good size range makes this pattern a winner. Sample available DESIGNER LOOK- T-SHIRT -V8151 view A Thurs. Oct. 6th & 13th 11:00am- 2:00pm $60.00 A wrapped front, shirred sides and long sleeves make this top perfect when a dressier look is needed. This is the alternate view of the basic t-shirt which enables fitting to be kept at a minimum. Lots of great knits to choose from. SWEATER KNIT COAT OR CAPE Thursday Oct 20th & Nov.3rd. 11:00am-2:00pm $60.00 B6251 or B6250 Our new sweater look fabric inspired this great class. This will make a great looking addition to your wardrobe when you need to add a layer for warmth. Shawl collar and stitched hems add stylish detail. Add a belt or special button detail. The cape version... create trim from faux suede. Capes make for ease of fit as well as so practical. Three colors to choose from. The fabric makes this! Sample will be available. 2

3 DESIGNER BLOUSE-V1385 Thursday Nov. 10th, 17th & 24th. 11:00am-1:00pm $75,00 Loose fitting with fluted neckline and sleeve detailing. Vertical darts are incorporated for a closer fit at waist if desired. This great looking shirt has lots of great detail. Lots of great fabrics to choose from. A great wardrobe addition for the holiday season. Lots of great fabrics to choose from. Embroidery could also be added to this fabulous shirt. COVERSTITCH TOTE Friday Oct. 7th OR Nov.18th 10:00am-4:00pm Here's a class that will make you a pro at coverstitch. You will use both chain and coverstitch for this. This bag has several blocks that come together to add detail as well as style. We have used our new fabrics from Australia that have an artsy look to give it that designer touch. Screen webbing is used as an insert to add that special touch.lots of pockets inside make for great organization. Handles are easily made using the webbing as well as fabric. Sample available. DECORATOR PILLOW-SERGER TECHNIQUES Coverstitch Machine or 8 thread required Friday Oct. 21st. 10:00am-4:00 pm This exquisite decorator pillow that features some of the key attachments that are available for this machine make this a popular class to really get to know your serger and coverstitch machine. Pintucking, chain stitch, piping and coverstitch. Sample available. Fabric requirements are minimal. This is a great class and you will quickly become a pro using these. If you don't have a coverstitch machine, we do have one available for you to use. Sample available 3

4 BASIC SERGER TECHNIQUES Friday, Nov. 25th. 10:30am - 1:30pm This is a technique only class where you will make lots of samples and discover how wonderful the serger really is. You will learn all of the basics including plaquet applications. You will gain skill and confidence. Your kit is included in the fee of the class. This class is taught by Bonnie Greenwood who is certified by Martha Pullen in serging. QUILTING CLASSES EASY ELEGANT PLACEMAT- A Great Beginner Project. Tuesday, Sept.27th 1:00pm-4:00pm $25.00 Here is a great placemat that is easy to make and yet looks amazing. Learn the basics of quilting in just a few hours. It's fun and it's easy. Lots of great fabrics to choose from. SERGER QUILT- Double or Queen size Friday Nov. 4th & 11th, 11:00am-2:pm. $ The serger makes this project so quick and so easy. Our sample will amaze you! We have used prints that have a stunning panel. This is the focal point! This is a quilt as you go project. Simple decorative stitching quilts the centre panel. This makes for a great gift or just to refresh your guest room or bedroom. Several fabric collections to chosse from. Sample will be available. CARDINALS- Wall hanging or lap quilt Tuesday Oct. 18th & Nov. 1st 1:00pm-4:00pm This new pattern features squares and triangles in a time-saving construction process. We have featured our exquisite new collection from Hoffman in black, white, silver and a splash of red, which is the cardinals. This will make for a great treasured piece to bring out every Christmas. Your choice of centre block...embroidery or fussy cut square. A sewing machine is used for this class. Sample available 4

5 WANNABE TOTE BAG Tuesday Nov. 15th & 22nd 1:00pm-4:pm Here's a class for those looking to review basic sewing skills as well as learning basic quilting techniques. Lots of pocket detail to make this a handy tote for any occasion. Zipper detail is included. Quilting detail will be featured to give this bag a rich look. Sample will be available. EMBROIDERY 101- Basic techniques Tuesday, Oct. 4th 1:00pm- 4:00pm $65.00 (includes kit and design) EMBROIDERY CLASSES Need a review of how to set up your embroidery? Not sure of which stabilizers to use? How to centre a design? How to hoop correctly? Sizing? Editing? In this project we will create a good sized square that could be made into a pillow or wall hanging. We will also be using designs that are timely for the season as it is a Fall theme. Kit does not include threads This project is using one of the Anita Good designs and incorporating quilting. Sample will be available. If you don't have an embroidery machine and would like to try one out, this is an ideal class for you as well. EMBROIDERED ELEGANCE-Place Mat Tuesday Nov. 29th 1:00pm-4:00pm $35.00 Here is a class that is just a joy! You will create 6 embroidered blocks that will be stitched together to form the top of the mat. Individual instruction will be given ahead along with the embroidery designs to allow embroidery to be done at home. This class will feature the construction and finishing details including self binding. These place mats can be made up in a variety of prints depending upon your preference. Sample available. 5
