2 Make a T-Shirt with your Serger or Sewing Machine Teacher: Puddin Race puddinrace@gmail.com Date: Wednesday, December 13 Cost: $20 + pattern + supplies Why do laundry when you can just whip up one of these cute and flattering tees in less time than it takes to dry a load of clothes. The newly updated Laundry Day Tee comes with three neckline options- scoop, v-neck & cowl as well as five sleeve lengths- tank, short, elbow, 3/4 and long. You also get to choose from a regular tee shirt length, tunic length & dress. The tunic and dress lengths have a high/low hem option. If you are going to use your sewing machine, you will need a double needle. Order your pattern by putting "Laundry Day T" in your browser and ordering the appropriate size. Sophia knit is suggested for your fabric. It can be found at JoAnns. Thin knit is not suggested for this longer style. Please have pattern purchased and taped together before class. DO NOT cut out ahead of time as we will fine tune the fit. This is a tunic length T. We will be making the scoop neck, short-sleeved version. Accuquilt GO! Learn about different types and sizes of needles, what kind of thread to use and different needle positions on your machine. We will learn the difference between a normal Zig Zag stitch and a stepped Zig Zag. Feather stitch for stretch fabrics. Learn about all your special feet and how to use them. The overlock, the blind hem, the button hole and zipper foot. Finally, we will look at all the wonderful decorative stitches on your machine. Learn to use all the amazing features of these fabulous sewing machines. Owners Embroidery Machine Techniques 4 th Friday of each month Date: Friday, December 22 Cost: No Charge, this is for machines purchased at Laura s This class is designed to understanding and use all the wonderful technology built into your top of the line machine. This is a lecture demo class - no need to bring your machine! You have "homework" to practice using various parts of your machine that was demonstrated in the class. Your "homework" will become a sample to add to the pages of your purchased notebook. Please bring your notebook to every class as well as your show and tells. We will cover proper use of your sewing machine including threading, and seam allowances. Learn to choose a pattern, fabric yardage needed, thread and proper needles. There are many different cutting and measuring tools specially designed to make measuring fabric, and cutting fabric accurately and easy. You will be able to make a wall hanging or a quilt.
